The Bears are horrible. The Cowboys aren't very good and the Bears looked terrible against them.

QUOTE (WBWSF @ Sep 16, 2016 -> 07:51 AM) It seems like alot of cities want to build stadiums for teams. I read where the State of Nevada just approved $750 million for a new football stadium for the Raiders. I'm under the impression that the money is coming from the tax payers. Unless the city of Oakland comes up with a new stadium it looks like the Raiders are moving to Vegas. Raiders are gone. Oakland will never come up with that money.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 11:48 AM) This isn't baseball where you can trade players for prospects. No one is gonna give you a valuable young player. You can get a draft pick for him, but there's no guarantee at all he's a better player than Jeffery. And with all the moves they have made, there is plenty of cash to sign him to a longer deal. Exactly. Jeffery is worthless in the NFL trade market. NFL just doesn't work that way.

Jose Abreu: White Sox Don't Have Same Desire to Win As Royals
Bananarchy replied to Dunt's topic in Pale Hose Talk
TWTW is complete garbage. The team just isn't good enough and management goes in every year setting them up for failure. The end. Glad Jose isn't blind, but he also overvalues TWTW apparently. -

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 5, 2016 -> 01:29 AM) This isn't just at Cubs games...This is literally EVERYWHERE in today' society. As a 25 year old I hate going out with people taking pics and videos and just sitting on their phone. Live in the moment. It's the MLB's fault. They have been the worst of the major sports in terms of getting their content on social media. Their youtube presence is essentially negligible.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 11:28 PM) Soo many seething Notre Dame haters on here, yeeesh. Must be a stressful life to have to live holding that much contempt. Days like today make it great. Notre Dame is like this EVERY YEAR. We're all just used to it and glad it's over with. -

Texas is playing such inspired football. They're likely not the better team, but they're playing like it's for their season. -

Brian Kelly is such an idiot with that incomplete pass challenge. That timeout would have been nice. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 09:47 PM) This is quite the football game in Austin Wanted to go, but tickets were $250 a piece. -
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 09:03 PM) I think if they were easy to find, they never would have paid him what they paid him. But it does seem as a whole, kickers are a lot more reliable than they used to be. Robbie has slipped without a doubt. Hopefully they find someone as reliable as he has been over the years. Right. And again this is just based on the few teams I get the opportunity to watch, but it seems like every year some kicker is leading the franchise or some college kid is kicking the ball 60 yards.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 09:01 PM) The eyes....of Texas And just like that they realize they're young again. My wife is an Aggie, but that school is so off-putting I find myself pulling for UT -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 4, 2016 -> 08:49 PM) Wow. He would have been gone last season if not for his long career.. I think that's the last piece from the Super Bowl and Lovie era Bears. At least I got Lovie in Champaign. And Urlacher on every other billboard on I-90 with his new hair. Who will be the new kicker? I can't imagine John Fox going for two all the time Stupid question, but I rarely think about special teams. Are kickers particularly difficult to find?

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Sep 3, 2016 -> 07:15 PM) It was against Murray State, but at least Illinois looked real good beating them. Real test is next week against UNC. The Illini blew the doors off Murray State and the defense looked like a Lovie Smith defense. -

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 10:35 AM) We lose Lunt, and our qbs next year will be dreadful. Seriously, Jeff George Jr. is being called the next starter right now... Our DL is going to be great this year, and awful next. DT should be solid but we have 1 capable Big Ten starter at DE next year. Losing a lot in the secondary as well. OL will still be thin, need some guys to step up over the next year. Put all of that together and I'm thinking 2-3 wins next year. Lovie is my boy, but he needs a bowl this year to really keep momentum going. Show that you can win with some talent, take the hit next year and get some of your guys on the field in 2 years. Thanks. That makes sense. After the Beckman scandal I mostly stopped following Illini football. When Cubit was fired, I came back. Glad Whitman cleaned the place up. Hiring Lovie Smith is icing on the cake. -

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 01:48 PM) If the Cubs get swept in the first round, their season was not exciting then. By your logic anyway. Here's what I said: QUOTE (Deadpool @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 12:10 PM) That's it. And being a World Series contender makes you exciting. You don't have to win it. The longer you believe you can win the WS, the more exciting. We are almost always out too early. The longer you are in contention, the more exciting your season. Period. The first month of our season was exciting with a fast start. That's over now. If the Cubs lose in the first round, it will be a disappointment, but our season will still not be as excited as theirs.
-
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) Exactly. Like if there hasn't been an excitng season to you in over ten years, why do you still like this? Haha Judging by the attendance, most people don't like this.

It's Sopranos and it's not particularly close, IMHO. The Wire is second in my book. The Wire was quite good, but between Gandolfini and Falco, there really is no tv character duo that outdoes them. So many great performances in Sopranos.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Sep 2, 2016 -> 07:41 AM) We have had other exciting years since 05...I hate the notion that winning the World Series is the only factor for an exciting season for some. lol really? 2008 maybe. That's it. And being a World Series contender makes you exciting. You don't have to win it. The longer you believe you can win the WS, the more exciting. We are almost always out too early.
