  1. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:39 PM) That is just one example that makes me wonder about the negotiation skill of this front office. Yes, you can come up with reasons (one is a pitcher). But there are other examples. Two are pitchers, but the point still stands. Theoretically, the best players on this roster have extremely team friendly contracts (Sale, Q, Eaton)
  2. QUOTE (Lip Man 1 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 04:26 PM) Deadpool: I'm glad you brought this up. Heard from one of the mainstream media members yesterday and I was asking about this. Was told that Hahn still isn't "up" on things (direct quote) and that's why Kenny steps in as much as he has been. This brings up an interesting point. This is year three of Hahn supposedly being in charge. What could he possible be not "up" on after all that time? (Not counting the years he spent in the organization working under Kenny...) Just gets curiouser and curiouser doesn't it? Mark Definitely. Kenny had said in the past that Rick will want to make a move and will come talk to Kenny and debate the merits of the potential move. But if that's the case, then Kenny is the GM. I'll go as far as saying that it's possible Rick could have more success elsewhere, but might ruin his chances under this regime.
  3. Hard to tell. First of all, it's really unclear who is in charge in this organization. I'm not saying he has done a great job, but I'm concerned he might not have full control of personnel based on the various comments from Kenny on the way the organization works. In most organizations, the GM is hired as head of personnel with a few exceptions. To answer your question, most organizations would have fired Hahn, but most would probably not have his boss working that closely over his shoulder.
  4. QUOTE (Insp @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) So the idiot Hahn traded away one of the best relief pitchers in baseball for someone who cannot be any better than a 5th outfielder scrub. Further proof that anyone who advocates wholesale trading of Sox players with Hahn in charge is simply delusional at best and hopelessly insane at worst. You're not very good at talking baseball.
  5. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) Wonder if Kenny is still unsure whether the team will be buyers or sellers. He's like your dad who still uses Internet Explorer and says it's great.
  6. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:51 PM) Oh no Can't disrupt the core. We have our CF, just trade 4 prospects for Jason Castro in the offseason and we're set! Rick Hahn's liked him way back in 2012 Maybe we can bring Griffey out of retirement to play center?
  7. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:50 PM) At least Melky always brings it. Exactly why we should sell it.
  8. Bases loaded and they don't put Abreu out there...Robin gotta Robin.
  9. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:40 PM) Is .098/.132/.137 good? Are you measuring literacy in percent? Then no.
  10. Remember when Jimmy Rollins was the worst of our problems? Those were the days.
  11. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:33 PM) They gave up on developing the new delivery awfully quick. Well, they aren't as good of talent evaluators as we thought. They immediately thought this kid was Chris Sale and put him on the Chris Sale track. Problem is, Fulmer isn't close to the MLB ready prospect Sale was.
  12. QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) I mean, it would be a big setback if they blew another high draft pick on a bust, rebuild or no. It's too early to tell, but he stunk at AA until he reverted to his old, violent mechanics, the ones that make him likely to be a reliever. Now he's a reliever and he still stinks. That's true. He fills a starter spot, but it would totally suck if he's not part of the future "Good White Sox"
  13. My connection to the boards is flipping out. Sorry for the double post. And the apology post.
  14. QUOTE (CWSpalehoseCWS @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:16 PM) Fulmer has no business being in the majors at this point in his career. He needs to be in the minors. This organization is pathetic. Unfortunately, this organization has done nothing in the last few years to warrant any kind of confidence from the fanbase. It's the fundamental flaw in my belief that I the team needs to blow this thing up.

  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:15 PM) My only hope with Fulmer is his velocity is down due to change in warming up pattern I'm not ready to call Fulmer a bust or anything, but this can't be good for his development.
  17. QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 03:14 PM) Guys, I don't know if Carson Fulmer is going to be a good pitcher. Too early to tell, but he's completely out of his element in the pen in the major leagues. If we went full rebuild, it wouldn't really matter if Fulmer was good or not.
  18. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 02:30 PM) So are we actively trying to move Melky? He is definitely doing his best to help us out... I feel like we should be but we're not.
  19. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 02:18 PM) Here we go with this nonsense again. What are we even arguing about?
