QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 08:35 PM) Absolutely, it's vintage 2008 Red Sox-Yankee games. So drawn out. Very good teams, but it's not very entertaining baseball for long stretches. You can hear it when Theo talks about the game. He is just so methodical and brilliant, but you almost lose it. It's all just baseball chess.

Just keep winning. Beat everybody.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2016 -> 01:37 PM) Scott Powers @ByScottPowers More Bowman on re-signing Shaw: "I can't speculate, but I think we've had pretty good success finding ways to get those kind of deals done." After the Seabrook contract, the writing is on the wall for Shaw. Go draft his replacement. He's not that good and not worth the cap space. IF you have to start comparing players, do I want Shaw over Teravainen? Absolutely not.

Camo and Stars and Stripes suck. The blue is great.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 04:08 PM) Some Cubs fans can't wait till Sale's elbow blows up. Most are (rightly) more worried about the Cardinals and Pirates.

Internal alternatives to Avisail Garcia

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) Then, AustinIllini, why are you so frustrated when Melky is batting but not frustrated when Frazier/Rollins bats? What stat are you using that makes them better than Melky so far? OmarComing25, the reason I used BA is because I assumed that's what AustinIllini was using, but I guess he wasn't. Who is talking about Rollins? No one is talking about Rollins. He has his own thread and I have said I would replace him. That's NOT the point. We aren't talking about Jimmy Rollins. -

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 07:19 PM) you do realize melky is hitting up to .269 with a .345 obs now which makes him 4 highest average on the team This stat DOES NOT MATTER with less than ten games under our belt. Period. -

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 06:29 PM) Right, it's frustrating when we get to Melky and his .269 BA, but it's not frustrating when Rollins (.160) or Frazier (.207) are batting. Makes sense You're in the wrong thread. Go cry in the Rollins thread or go start an "I don't understand Todd Frazier thread". I don't like Rollins either, but this is the Avi Garcia thread. And Batting average is a useless stat when you haven't played 10 games yet. Frazier has reached base 5 times in the last three games. -
QUOTE (Y2HH @ Apr 12, 2016 -> 03:41 PM) 22 is Pods. Period. He hit a walk off homer in the World Series. That alone wins him #22. What about 1 for Pods ;-)

I'm not happy with Avi, but as long as we're winning games, it's hard to be super worried... But it's so frustrating when w get to that part of the order between Avi, Cabrera, and Avila. -
QUOTE (Dunt @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 10:38 PM) The NL is looking pretty awful this far The number of rebuilding clubs is crazy, but the Central is still potentially a dog fight. The Cubs, however, still look like the division is theirs.

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 8, 2016 -> 08:07 PM) Another ACL for Dudek That's terrible for that young man. Once one goes, the other one is a lot more likely to go -
Might as well fast forward to the postseason with this Cubs team.
-
QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 07:53 PM) Well they finally moved him to catcher. That's super confusing.

The White Sox need to feed on the Twins. I get the feeling the Rays and Angels series will be a lot more challenging.
-
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 04:16 PM) And who do you replace him with? Like it or not Danks is the best option for the 5th spot right now. Which is good enough for me at the moment. He's got to be better, however.

4/11 Game thread: @ Minnesota, 3:10pm, CSN/WLS

There are no small victories. Go Sox -
Cubs have put the Schwarber ball back out...celebrating nothing

QUOTE (gatnom @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 12:12 PM) I'm kind of surprised by the lack of Ken Griffey Jr. in all of these lists. He obviously wasn't here very long, but it was cool to see him in a Sox uniform. Yeah, but 17 is Carlos May: The only player in history to wear his birthday on the back of his Jersey.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 09:36 AM) The change to playing your own division first is dumb and needs to be looked at again. The central is head and shoulders better than everyone in hockey. Agreed. One upset in the Pacific is enough to ruin later rounds of the playoffs.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 09:29 AM) Really that is crappiest of all for St Louis. They have the third best record in all of hockey, and get the Blackhawks as a reward. This about this: if St. Louis had won on Saturday, they would have been tied for the second best record in hockey and would still get the Blackhawks. That's so bad for the later rounds of the playoffs. The whole point of seeding is to favor the better record teams.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 11, 2016 -> 08:45 AM) Travis Yost @travisyost NHL playoffs: 1 v 14 2 v 17 3 v 5 4 v 9 6 v 13 7 v 10 8 v 11 12 v 15 Hawks are lucky enough to be in the 3 vs 5 matchup I'm not really sure how that's fair at all.

Sucks we're not in the East. 8:30 is just ridiculous, especially when two Central teams are playing each other.

QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Apr 10, 2016 -> 06:37 PM) True lol. I'm just tired already of cubs fans on my Facebook bragging what a cake walk this will be to the world series. Im loving the Sox at this point but I know it's not easy. Make no mistake, the Cubs should make the playoffs, but to think it's just a walk in the park from there is stupid.
