  1. QUOTE (Tex @ Mar 27, 2016 -> 10:58 AM) I've hoped that Hawk would have slid over to color and allowed someone else to handle the PxP. Not worth losing Stone over. Hawk's input is irrelevant, out of date, or dead wrong. Stone can basically sit there and call pitches. It's high time Hawk retires.
  2. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 10:52 PM) Meant to be a pretty weak draft after the top 4-5 from what I've read though. Understood, but crazy stuff happens in the lottery.
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 05:36 PM) Does the baby bear get its own locker in the clubhouse too? This board needs a like button.
  4. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 27, 2016 -> 09:50 PM) Are the Hawks back or is Western Canada just this f***ing bad? Western Canada is bad. Darling was serviceable against Vancouver, but the Hawks still don't look quite right.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 28, 2016 -> 09:38 PM) A loss tomorrow and the Bulls probably have to win out just to have a chance at the 8th seed. I hate to pull for a loss, but a draft pick is more valuable than a first round exit.
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 07:40 PM) Aw man. I never even thought about it. That would totally make sense as a day-to-day injury that suddenly becomes week-to-week Certainly not beyond the realm of possibilities. At this point, though, I wouldn't worry about winning the division. It doesn't matter a ton for the Blackhawks. Let STL and DAL duke it out.
  7. It's so good to hear real broadcasting in Sox games. Real. Professional. Play calling. Can't wait until he does every game.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 25, 2016 -> 12:03 PM) Yeah. That maybe the dumbest meme ever. I actually was enjoying BvS...until the last 30 mins or so. Then it becomes the Snyder mess I was waiting for an looked like garbage. And it kept going and going. I don't regret seeing it but wouldn't watch it again. A number of reviews have said Ben Affleck is one of the highlights. Do you agree with that sentiment? I have been pulling for an older Batman for a while.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 10:05 AM) When I saw the crowd of teams that was at LaLumiere to recruit him, I was pretty surprised to hear that he was considered a favorite to Illinois. Unless he has a buddy he wants to play with, he has some big time offers coming in. This completely fake "support" for Groce from Whitman is clearly a result of Groce's struggles recruiting. No one wants to play for a lame duck coach. There's a really good chance Groce is still a lame duck.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 21, 2016 -> 07:33 PM) Don't look now, but Dougie has been looking like an NBA player for a little bit now. He has looked great, and yet Hoiball pulls him for Dunleavey in crunch time.
  11. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 23, 2016 -> 06:34 AM) I'm more worried about Jaime Benn catching him for the Art Ross. Benn is now 10 points behind Kane with 8 games left for both. I still don't get why Q doesn't put Keith and Seabrook back together and Ehrhoff or Gustafsson with Hjalmarsson. TVR is useless playing the left side. He's much better on his natural side and playing another painfully slow skater in Rozsival with him is just bad. Either guy should be benched in the playoffs. I'm not all that worried about that. Benn has been quiet for some time (a lot of assists) and no Seguin slows his production. That being said, last year he tallied something like 16 points in 7 games. I'm more concerned that a team that runs four fast offensive lines is going to be a problem for the Blackhawks. You saw it yesterday in the first period: 3 fourth line goals. Benn, Spezza et al didn't beat us yesterday. Fiddler, Roussel, Eaves did. I'm all for whatever keeps us away from Dallas. They're Blackhawks kryptonite.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 22, 2016 -> 10:13 PM) I was in the car before the 3rd period started, never done that before. I was lucky enough to be at the other Stars game where they scored four in the first too. I know they have earned the benefit of the doubt and this has happened in March before and we should just enjoy this run, but wow is it starting to look ugly. Not a lot of good hockey on offense or defense. I'm not worried about the offense, but the defense looks awful.
  13. The defense remains a complete joke. Down 4-0 after 1. Stars with a PP Goal, Shorthanded goal, and two at even strength. Three of their four from their fourth line.
  14. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Mar 19, 2016 -> 02:25 PM) This is a great article. Well done Haugh! http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/colum...319-column.html This page has since blown up. My favorite is Alex Snelius in loving memory of Ursula
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 09:53 PM) That has to be the 3rd time in consecutive games Dumba has taken a run at a Hawks player. This time he popped Kane who has gone to the quiet room. That was on Kane with his head down like that.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 10:19 PM) Yeah, seeding doesn't matter in that situation. Biggest tourney choke I've ever seen. For me, it's tied with the Weber time out. The seed matters a lot, as UNI was severely overachieving the entire game. As far as non-NCAA, the Spurs choke in 2013, the Bruins in 2013, the Red Wings in 2013 are all in the discussion. The Spurs one in particular.
  17. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 10:12 PM) Don't see how that matters. A high school team wouldn't blow a 12 point lead in 30 seconds against the Warriors. If UNI and A&M were in opposite positions, it would absolutely be the worst choke job in sports. It's definitely top five. And the Warriors would destroy a high school team down 12 with 30 seconds left.
  18. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Mar 20, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) Biggest choke ever? It was pretty bad, but it was an 3-11 matchup.
  19. It's 100% LaRoche. Honorable mention to Sale for making it worse.
  20. Look at this, an actual story. Not just some pampered star with his kid.
  21. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 11:56 AM) Mike HeikaVerified account ‏@MikeHeika Jim Nill just said Seguin with cut of Achilles. Out 3-4 weeks. He was on the ice with the game in hand and 22 seconds left. Tough loss. Could be a game changer going into the final stretch.
  22. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Mar 18, 2016 -> 09:57 AM) 5% of me wants to reserve judgment here. We blasted Tate but that seems, at least according to his lawyers with some supposed documentary evidence, that his case was all BS and made up. Who knows if Nunn's in the same situation. Still though, the fact that these guys get anywhere near a situation like that is what's troubling. The problem I have with "reserving judgement" is sure, we can reserve judgement on each individual player, but that's 4 arrests, and there's a slim likelihood they're all unwarranted. Odds are, at least two of those arrests are legitimate. For that reason, I do not have a problem with condemning Groce. This, by the way, coming from a guy who supported Groce all season.
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Mar 17, 2016 -> 10:57 PM) What changed, thought he was a lock? No way this train wreck is going to out recruit UNC.
