QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 12:31 AM) How about a little credit to Stan for finding TVR, Panarin and Gustafsson out of the blue? And I'll be the first to admit that I hated Anisimov being the main piece in the Saad deal, but he's proven me wrong. That line is unreal. Turning Saad into Anisimov is Bowman's magnum opus this season. The fact is, the top line is hurting offensively, but the second line is just orders of magnitudes better with Kane having a real center. As far as Panarin goes, maybe GMs will finally get over the KHL threat.

QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 06:05 PM) The White Sox owe me absolutely nothing. It was my decision many years ago to become a White Sox fan. End of story. At the same time, you owe the White Sox nothing. You do them a favor by going to games and watching them on television.

The Bulls biggest problem: John Paxson and Gar Forman

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 06:09 PM) Beasley v. Rose was hotly contested. Just like Oden v. Durant was. There was luck, but they still had a call to make. Ok, let's list the non-Rose players. Ben Gordon Luol Deng Kirk Hinrich Joakim Noah Taj Gibson Jimmy Butler Niko Mirotic Pau Gasol You don't just accidentally acquire that much talent. And Thibs refused to hire an offensive assistant and Jimmy Butler was among 3 starters that wanted Thibs gone. Add to that, this is the BEST talent you can get when your team continues to win games. The Bulls have been so competitive for so long, they are rarely in the draft lottery. You don't get the next phenom on your squad without being bad or being lucky in free agency. -
According to My NHL Trade Rumors' attendance records, Blackhawks lead the league in attendance (No kidding). Interestingly, the only two Central division teams that have seen a dip in attendance are the Blues and the Preds. Maybe they should start letting Hawks fans in.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 05:36 PM) Deng, Noah, and Butler were not all stars before thibs. Only Butler will be after Thibs. Thibs got everything he could out of this team - the job of the coach, but was fired. The Bulls have put a flawed roster out there, and didn't do everything they could to win. Yet they're still here. Again its been 13 years. If you don't want to fire them now, you never will. The bold is completely false. Nothing prevents me from changing my mind. Currently, I'm not sure what the better option is. What shall they do? And don't overvalue Thibodeau. He was a defensive tactician, but his teams played baby offense and he wasn't a locker room manager in the slightest. -
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Jan 20, 2016 -> 08:48 AM) Dano is pronounced dan-oh Danault is pronounced duh-no If the league could just come to an agreement that all French names be pronounced correctly. Looking at you, Andrew Desjardins.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 08:42 PM) I didn't see the Butler question. Rose has been broken for 4 years. How many more years do they get a pass on that? How many years of excuses does Paxson get that no other front office in any sport gets? I have yet to see you dispute the rest of what I laid out. 3 handpicked choices for coaches and all ended on bad terms. Hoiberg isn't off to a good start. Who outside of Butler has Paxson hit on in the past 5 years? Wanna give credit for Butler? Do you take away credit for Teague? How about Snell? What about Tyrus? James Johnson? Mirotic might not even be Hero Turkoglu which he compared to but was hyped up more. Where's the fault for the horrid training staff. People remember the spinal tap with Luol which is horrific, but they tend to forget how they misdiagnosed a break in the leg and basically called Luol out years before? These are basketball decisions that are ignored. Yes, one or two bad decisions shouldn't be held against you. Paxsons made more than just one or two. So quick to discard Hoiberg when the team he's coaching lacks any Hoiberg type players. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 10:25 PM) I have always liked Corey, but have not liked his contract, because I think the money is better spent on defensemen, but with Corey playing like a Vezina candidate and Keith being a cyborg, the Hawks are really making off well with only two D pairings on winging the rest. He has just been on fire. But seeing how Pekka Rinne is suddenly average at best, there is still that worry about how long Corey can keep it up. Whatever you do, don't eat crow.. ...he needs to play in goal

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 09:40 PM) Isn't that how you pronounce it phonetically just with the accent on the 2nd syllable since its a French name ? Yes, but I would expect a professional hockey announcer to pronounce it correctly. I'm somewhat convinced it is further complicated by the existence of Marko Dano. Over the last 12 games, Crawford is your MVP.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 09:35 PM) So if Danault and Teuvo get comfortable on the 3rd line together, then Kruger comes back and anchors the 4th line, this team suddenly looks much deeper, and the depth has always been their strongest suit with winning the Cup in June. Of course, that depends on Shaw staying successful with 19 & 81, which is not gonna happen. Shaw does a ton right, but he's just not the scoring threat you want with Toews and Hossa. I can see why they don't do it, but Teuvo was supposed to be that guy. He's just not there yet.

f*** Nashville trying to keep Blackhawk fans out. Good win.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 09:25 PM) Being outshot 13-2 in the third. Real a tale of two games. The third has been a tough watch. National broadcaster calls Danault "Dano" every time.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 09:11 PM) It's only the 2nd time he has reached 30 goals in a season, that's crazy. That is thanks to a few random injuries and a lockout. This is really the first time in a while he has been on a line with first line talent. Hammer having a monster 3rd.
-
Kane with his career high for goals in a season. Unreal.
-
The third line continues to smother Nashville. The machine is just starting.
-
Kane destroys Rinne. 3-1 Blackhawks
-
Ellis scores. 2-1 Blackhawks.
-
Panik scores. Poor effort by Rinne. 2-0
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 07:54 PM) That was a beautiful goal The crowd thought it was a save. Hilarious.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 19, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) Anisimov says "Don't forget about me, I'm good at hockey too!" Great contributions from the second two lines.
-
Anisimov scores. 1-0 Hawks.
-
Teuvo having a monster period with nothing to show for it thusfar.
-
Halfway through the first, shots 7-3 Preds. Hawks are having trouble with entry into the offensive zone.
-
Got to get to Rinne early. He's been awful of late.
