QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 03:40 PM) Two guys threw the flag.....two guys saw it wrong. On that penalty both guys assumed they saw something that they did not. It did look clear on tv but they need to see it to throw and neither could have seen it as it was not there. It looked 100% like a facemask in real time. It was the right call.

Cubs with a Kenny Williams move. "I always wanted John Lackey on my team"

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) This probably would have come up in the Dallas Cowboys new stadium thing. I'm pretty sure if the punt (main concern) hit the scoreboard it was live. It's still kind of up in the air. The only time the scoreboard has been hit AFAIK was on a punt, and the ruling on the field was "rekick". I don't know what to do about throwing, though, because it doesn't seem like it should just be a replay. Part of me thinks it should be a delay of game penalty, an intentional grounding penalty, or an incomplete pass.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 11:26 AM) The Edmonton Oilers championship era and the Lemieux/Jagr Penguins era were the most fun hockey has ever been in my opinion. Run and gun, last goal wins. That's the hockey I liked. Right. The perception is Dallas doesn't defend at all. I understand most of us can't watch them, but Dallas scores like crazy but can't hold a lead to save their lives. They'll be up 3 going into the third and still lose. Such a crazy brand of hockey.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Oct 3, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) The market for Sale would be an all time high. Ya you could go spend the fortune on someone like Price but Sale is a great young LHP under reasonable control and hitting his prime. Unfortunately, while the value of Sale is sky high, the perceived value of prospects now is ridiculous thanks to recent success out of Houston, Kansas City, and Pittsburgh. No team likely feels they can reasonably afford a Sale trade. The Sox would have to come down and I'm not sure I would want them to.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Dec 4, 2015 -> 10:30 AM) Derrick Rose sucks now. The Bulls aren't winning a title. They'll never do this but they should take a step back this year. Gasol has stated that he is opting out after the the season (as he should). In my opinion, the Bulls should deal him. They should trade Noah as well. I know that leaves them pretty thin but it doesn't really matter and I'd rather obtain assets now than get nothing in the offseason. This would be the best course of action for now and the future of the franchise which is why they'll never ever do it. Good post. The problem is, the Bulls need to get a lot worse before they can compete for a championship. Let Rose, Noah walk, trade Pau and we're getting somewhere. This Bulls team is just good enough to mess up their draft pick feeding off the Eastern conference.

For the love of the game, people, start rooting for the Dallas Stars
-
Well at least that was one point 4-3 Sens in OT
-
I can't believe that didn't go in.

QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 08:13 PM) Yeah, nothing pedestrian about that Panarin goal. That was super pretty.

How appropriate to see notorious abuser of women Bobby Hull and his current iteration, Patrick Kane, in the same graphic.

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Dec 3, 2015 -> 07:33 PM) I didn't think it was an overly bad period. For the first 5 and last 5 minutes the Hawks played pretty well. However the score is truly the only thing that matters Andrew Shaw has been horrible. Not exactly what I'd call a smart hockey player. I don't expect that level of stupidity from Hossa, and Panarin looks pedestrian as of late. This team really misses Brandon Saad.
-
Well this looks to be a complete suckfest.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 11:38 AM) WHAT???? Someone signed him for actual money? I guess he'd be good as a defensive oriented utility man, but he can't hit at all. Dude can't hit, but he can field. This is what you pay a veteran who can do that.
-
QUOTE (LDF @ Dec 2, 2015 -> 02:45 AM) well the blackhawks lost 2-1 in regulation play. someone mention, the first game back is an important game, why??? That sucked. Every game matters in the strongest division in hockey.

1) Baseball money is stupid now 2) There needs to be a way to address teams with infinite pockets

Red Sox sign David Price for 217 million over 7 years

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) But the White Sox should totally trade Chris Sale. Not yet, but eventually. Can't get fair value, yet. -
QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Dec 1, 2015 -> 04:06 PM) AustinIllini was certain Cubs would sign him because you know the Madden connection. Ha, cash is king Cash is king but that's stupid money. I thought they would land him but I didn't think they would be the highest bidder.

2015-16 NCAA Football Thread
Bananarchy replied to LittleHurt05's topic in A and J's Olde Tyme Sports Pub
The Cubit contract is 100% ideal for Illinois. This is an awful time to need to hire a coach. Now they can re-evaluate. Heck, with only 76 bowl eligible teams, the Illini might play in December (which would be awful) -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 29, 2015 -> 11:27 PM) What a f***ing game that was. I still don't think the Patriots will lose in Foxboro but good to see they are beatable. Depends what is wrong with Gronkowski. It sounds like it's not that bad, but playoff defenses could be a big problem for the Patriots with all their injuries.

That one should not have gotten away.

Seabrook. Seriously?

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Nov 28, 2015 -> 08:25 PM) Minnesota was up 3-0 vs Dallas in the 3rd and Dallas tied it No one beats Dallas in OT. It doesn't happen. Benn-Seguin-Klingberg Sharp-Spezza-Goligoski Best two lines in 3-3, period. That doesn't happen in the postseason, however. Their defense is still lacking and their best defenseman is very young and makes a lot of mistakes. That being said, Dallas is the Western Conference team that can beat Chicago at their own game.
-
Dallas has not looked awesome for a couple of weeks, but they still continue to win. The Central is just so stacked.

QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 26, 2015 -> 02:11 PM) I'm sure you know Panarin went undrafted but the Hawks signed him as a KHL free agent. He was already being called "the Russian Patrick Kane " before they signed him and those reports appear to be spot on. The way you wrote makes it seem like the Hawks drafted him. Not sure why I didn't remember that. Since the Ilya Kovalchuk thing, teams have undervalued KHL players calling them "risks". I can't say I blame them. Glad this one is working out.
