  1. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 15, 2015 -> 10:55 AM) Don't know if this post was before or after they fought, but, they fought. Which is good, because Toews isn't the player the Blackhawks need when he's constantly going at it with an opponent. Toews plays real hockey extremely well. He's no enforcer and he's significantly compromised when he's overly aggressive.
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 08:01 AM) Technically speaking he is the best QB the Bears have ever had. Nailed it. And based on this year, he's only going to further separate himself from the pack when the Bears keep him around.
  3. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 29, 2015 -> 01:21 AM) Got my Nexus 6P today. It's probably the nicest-feeling device I've ever owned and it's weird since it's made by Huawei. I had no idea Huawei had the technology and craftsmanship to make a phone that can rival the iPhone and the HTC One in terms of build quality. I usually rotate phones out once a year, but I'm really liking the 6P more than I though I would. Came over from an iPhone 6. Google services are just so far superior to anything Apple offers.
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 15, 2015 -> 10:14 AM) Updated Playoff/Bowl Projections: Orange: Clemson vs Oklahoma Cotton: Alabama vs Ohio State Rose: Iowa vs Stanford Sugar: Florida vs Oklahoma State Fiesta: Notre Dame vs Baylor Peach: LSU vs Navy I hate Notre Dame, but they'll likely get in over Oklahoma unless the Sooners win out.
  5. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 15, 2015 -> 05:39 AM) Rousey obliterated That kick to the head. Dang.
  6. I'm calling it. John Klingberg is your Norris Trophy winner.
  7. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 14, 2015 -> 08:57 PM) Enforcers ( at least on the Hawks) are a thing of the past . Maybe Toews thinks it's his duty as Captain to somehow let the Blues know that they won't take that crap lying down. BTW great assist by Panarin to find Kane all alone in front. Hawks do seem to have some extra life on their skates determined to not let the Blues dictate play. The bold is a good thing for hockey overall. Most "enforcers" now have to contribute in other ways to keep their spot. Clearly enforcers aren't necessary as the Blackhawks haven't really had one in this run.
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Nov 14, 2015 -> 08:30 PM) Toews does not like Backes one iota . Frankly ,I thought Backes flopped on the Toews penalty in the 1st period but I didn't get a real good look at it, Unless Toews plans on fighting Backes, he needs to put his head down and play hockey. The team looks bad when he's not focused.
  9. Another brawl. This is such a garbage game. Play hockey.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Nov 14, 2015 -> 08:18 PM) Toews tries to concuss Backes, Backes then tries to cripple Hjalmarsson. I hate these f***ing games. Someone ought to tell Backes that no one is targeting him. If a hockey team targets a guy, they usually go for the better players. I hate them, too. The Blackhawks aren't built to play this way.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 13, 2015 -> 03:24 PM) Keith is Chelios reincarnated. Deservedly high praise. I miss Chelios. He was freaking awesome. Arguably the greatest American player ever. If he had finished his career here, he's likely the greatest American Blackhawk.
  12. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 12, 2015 -> 11:03 PM) Hossa, hasn't been producing and that first line, they can't find someone to produce and mesh like Saad. they truly need a #1 winger... but if Hossa is on his last leg, due to age, that firs line is doom. I wouldn't say "doom", but Dale Tallon knew when he signed that long term contract that Hossa would give the team some bad seasons. I just think we all got used to this concept of Hossa's "immortality". He lost a step maybe two seasons ago, but now he looks like he has aged a lot more. Hopefully that's not true, but it's certainly possible.
  13. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 12, 2015 -> 01:23 PM) Tampa is in the Top 5 of attendance.... I totally pulled the list out and blew right through Tampa. Point taken.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 01:35 PM) There was no questioning of your fandom in my post. I legitimately just thought you were a Stars fan, so I was joking about the loss to the Marlies last night. If you are not, then OK, I'll save my jokes for one of the other 78 people in the state of Texas that care about hockey. Sorry, I shouldn't have bitten your head off on that. The 78 people comment made me chuckle. The crazy thing is, through nine home games, the Stars are fifteenth in average attendance per game. Of all the teams in the American south, they may be the only one worth keeping, as only they and Nashville draw in the top 20.
  15. QUOTE (3GamesToLove @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 11:21 AM) YES has almost all of the games. There are maybe a dozen or so that's on an OTA network, but other than that it's all YES. I guess I shouldn't be surprised the Cubs only care about the big bucks instead of fans and viewership. Cubs fans will show up anyway.
  16. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 11:47 AM) He's basically the coach from Varsity Blues without the winning. Pretty much. The crazy part is, most coaches would be fired for this regardless of record. Our lack of success (and concurrent big news) have somewhat lessened the importance of this. Replace Tim Beckman with Les Miles and it's the scandal of the year.
  17. You said this: QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Nov 2, 2015 -> 10:22 PM) Nope, they suck. Central is too good. They blow. *AustinIllini, signing off.* You completely distorted what I was saying. At the time, the Blackhawks had to play better. They HAD to. They look a little better now, but if you're going to twist my words, the gloves are off.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 09:27 AM) Nothing from our resident Stars fan about the game last night? Those Maple Leafs are feisty! I'm not sure what I have said that makes you so malicious about this, but let's be clear. I am a Blackhawks fan and a Hockey fan. The Dallas Stars are on my television and not blacked out and they are fun to watch. I love hockey and I love the way the Stars play (reminiscent of a 2008-2009 Blackhawks team) Stop questioning my fandom. I don't question yours. And the Stars never ever beat Toronto and I'm not sure why.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) 670 The Score @670TheScore Crane Kenney again confirms #Cubs will launch own TV network in 2020 after other TV deals expire. Does anyone know how YES network works? Does it take like a third of games or something? I can't imagine all the games being on a Cubs network.
  20. QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 11, 2015 -> 08:31 AM) I think it was actually announced months ago. Essentially. CBS had a one shot opportunity to move from WBBM to WSCR and everyone kind of knew it would happen due to the White Sox move.
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 10:07 AM) well, you make and interesting point. for my disclaimer before i will post. i think everyone know my opinion on SB and my opinion on what happen after the and before the draft. well, i am not going to rehash. we the hawks fans are in the thick of it and i am saying this is what we, the fans can expect. what you see is what can be had. no nhl team is going to go out on a limb to help the blackhawks and SB. in order for SB to pull off a trade, he is going to really get creative and probably end up giving some draft picks. in other words, over pay. that is the cost of winning and winning 2 SC's. You're right, I'm afraid. That's the new normal of being a "dynasty" in a Salary Capped league. No team can beat a cap system in the NHL forever, as it is designed to swallow them up back into the middle of the pack. And you nailed it on the head with "other GMs won't help". Spot on.
  22. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 02:42 PM) Bears are so far away right now, it's hard to say when they will be a playoff team again. Especially on the defensive side. They have nothing, maybe one or two players. Offense is better, but still so far away. If you believe smart people, the Bears are two drafts away from being right in it. They have a quarterback, which certainly helps and the NFL rebuild isn't like baseball; it happens quickly.
  23. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 10, 2015 -> 02:09 PM) Well next year you'll hopefully still have Jeffrey, Bennett, and HOPEFULLY a stud WR in White. The line is still competent, even if injured on occasion. It's not the bottomless pit it was 5 years ago. And you'll hopefully still have Forte. I'm sure most teams around the league would take that. This! And we likely add an O-lineman. It's not hard to look at this team and see some bright spots, which is room for optimism when you look back at how bad we thought this team would be.
