  1. The NFL is brutally far behind the NBA on NHL on the political activism front.
  2. That's a shame. If I'm the Bears, I do it. I don't care about owners, it's about winning.
  3. They're scheming guys open and Mitch is missing them. I think the O line is fine, the defense is good, the offensive tools should be better, but the play calling and QB play are problematic.
  4. They'll definitely keep him. I'm starting to think Kaepernick would be a decent choice.
  5. That would be a mistake. That defense as built is pretty darn good and he didn't start with much. You just don't fire a GM when they build a team like last year's. It's up to Pace to pull the plug on Trubisky early.
  6. CBS This Morning did a segment on Jason https://www.cbsnews.com/news/sports-announcer-jason-benetti-on-being-a-voice-for-those-with-cerebral-palsy/
  7. This is an opinion not shared by anyone who knows the business. Benetti is lauded as one of the best, smartest play callers in the business right now.
  8. If you're trading for Betts, he has to re-sign. This year isn't the year a one year rental gets us over the hill.
  9. Steve Stone is a private citizen and his attitude makes me believe he's no longer under contract. He can say whatever he wants. He's one of the smartest guys in baseball.
  10. Steve Stone is the only reason we didn’t have the worst broadcast team year in and year out since 2009
  11. I mean, only a few short years ago we had the worst announcer in baseball full time. Hawk after about 2007 was a trash. But to answer the original question, I don't think Jason's going anywhere for a long time.
  12. Hold your horses. If we trade prematurely we get in trouble again. I agree on free agency, though.
  13. And as much as I don't care for him, the fact that the young guys had an amazing September is a credit to the fact that they really want to play for Rick Renteria. No sign of losing the clubhouse in a pretty crappy year's end.
  14. If Madrigal or Vaughn is traded this season, I'm guessing Kenny would have already fired Hahn and taken the GM job back.
  15. No offense, but that's nonsense.
  16. Still not justification for trading Nick Madrigal or Andrew Vaughn. Especially not this offseason.
  17. Are there that many missing pieces that we couldn't sign a good portion of them? I'll be that guy. I would rather be worse and find out what we have in the majors than trade this early. Show me improvement next year with Luis, Madrigal, and Kopech then we can talk about filling holes. And the Cubs thing was gross mismanagement. They never had any arms in the minors and it cost them dearly.
  18. Still, that's not justification for moving a guy like Andrew Vaughn right now. He looks like the next stud after Robert
  19. Texas still has two teams which rule their respective market. The Cowboys rule much of the country (and of course overshadow the Stars, Rangers, and Mavs). The Texans by far rule Houston as well (Rockets and Astros fall short). Sort of back on topic, but we're a bit premature to say we're going to pass the Cubs on the field. As far as off the field, the Cubs will always have a bigger fanbase, but they're so damn fickle and uninterested in baseball as a whole that the White Sox fanbase is just so much more concentrated and interesting when the team is good.
  20. Harold got in, so I suppose anything is possible. I would say no, however.
  21. Give me Eloy and Vaughn. If JR isn't going to pay anyone, we're screwed anyway. Our payroll will be low. I don't honestly believe we'll have trouble paying for a starter.
  22. We have a bilingual person who is a "manager" but I mean, he's not really a manager, lol
  23. Honestly, that's not the same. I'm not saying Spanish speaking is a requirement, but the fact of the matter is a lot of great baseball minds also happen to speak Spanish. As set up, we would benefit greatly from a bilingual manager.
