  1. QUOTE (scs787 @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 04:14 PM) Houston and Acho are better options anyway. Allen should have been in the bench in their favor. Don't really consider this a "tanking" move. Agreed. Allen on the Bears has been forgettable at best.
  2. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 04:06 PM) there is some incorrect info that the bears are still on hook for next years bonus. We ate it this year, but saved 8.5 next. Right, in this team's position, this is a win win trade for both sides.
  3. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 04:04 PM) Shoulda kept Peppers in hindsight I don't know. It's probably better to be really bad than just okay. Especially when your GM was hired for his talent scouting.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 04:00 PM) Chris Emma ‏@CEmma670 4m4 minutes ago The Bears cut their losses in the Jared Allen linebacker experiment, ate the $11.5 million paid, for a sixth-round pick. Any asset can help. Hopefully Pace can draft. The more draft picks, the better.
  5. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 03:48 PM) I know he sucks now, but damn Doesn't fix the Bears system. He's a career 4-3 guy. 6th round pick in return.
  6. The thing is, if you're rebuilding the Bears, Cutler makes the quarterback position a lower priority than the rest of the team.
  7. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 02:18 PM) Yeah, and BA was my choice by far I think most football savvy people thought the same thing.
  8. QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 10:01 AM) Honestly, I think it's the crap offensive line play league wide. Peyton is now behind garbage, wilson behind garbage, Newton behind garbage, etc etc. Then Brandon Weeden looks good behind the leagues best o line. People thought Jerry Jones was insane for spending that many draft picks on offensive linemen. The Cowboys have a ton of issues on defense, still, but they keep themselves in games with a qb with an arm and all the time in the world. I'm just speculating, but it may be that offensive lineman work more as a team of 4-5 to the point where, when one of them needs to get paid, teams break up the line and suddenly that's the end of the line (pun intended). Offensive line chemistry just completely breaks down like it has in Seattle. Hopefully the Bears are ready to keep Long around, because he looks great overall.
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 08:03 AM) *checks username after reading post to confirm that it's AustinIllini* If the Sox were half as good at drafting and scouting positional talent as they were at drafting pitching, Robin would miraculously be manager of the year.
  10. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 08:23 AM) Bears actually had a good game plan in the first half. Kept the game close and didn't turn the ball over. They were only down 6-0. I just didn't get some of the punting in the second half. When they were down 20-0 and it was like 4th and 2. Just go for it. Punting does nothing. It was like the good and bad of John Fox yesterday. Team played well in a tough situation, but when it came time to go for it on 4th down or run a trick play, he just punted. Played it safe. Maybe it is because Fox is an old-fashioned ball coach, but this was my big take away. If you're serious about winning, go for it on 4th and 2, the odds are heavily in your favor. The defense played well, but just don't have to talent to keep up with Russell Wilson for 4 quarters. Fangio's coaching is definitely a bright spot.
  11. Rizzo aside, the White Sox were geniuses for Quintana, but the Cubs are geniuses for their whole roster. That team is brilliant and the rest of the organization is stacked.
  12. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Sep 27, 2015 -> 05:59 PM) Do the Bears really have 10 keepers on the 53 man roster? I do not think so. No. This is why they keep Cutler for at least another season. Their holes are so big, they really can't afford to waste a pick next year on a quarterback. They look so bad, you're looking at two consecutive top 10 picks going forward. Maybe this season in the second round there will be a player worth grabbing at QB, but if you consider the next two drafts as one big one, you're looking at Quarterback way down the list of priorities.
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 06:57 AM) In ever other White Sox relevancy thread,I read the Sox can't be relevant unless they start making the playoffs every year, and am constantly told t is what fans are owed. They shouldn't be expected to support simply good teams, they need a consistent winner. How would McDonough accomplish that? He is a marketing guy. I tend to agree. The Sox are beyond marketing. They have plenty of fans, but the product is horses***.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 12:59 PM) Since trading for Jay Cutler, the Bears have won one game (1-13 overall) when he has been out as a starter. Jimmy Claussen is 1-10 as a NFL starter. Jimmy Clausen's one win as an NFL starter was with Carolina, against the Bears. I don't love Jay Cutler, but there's no question he's the Bears' quarterback.
  15. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 09:05 PM) the hawks have or put waivers on Jeremy Morin and Corey Tropp. i was reading and yeah it is from a site some don't like. it was said that morin 900,000 salary will count on the hawks salary cap whether he is in the minors or not. anyone know if this is true??? Thank God Morin is gone. He looked great in the AHL and fizzled in the NHL.
  16. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:48 PM) some hawk scored 2 goal and i don't even know nothing about him. darling is in the nets. I was at Stars training camp last week (don't flame, hockey is hockey and live hockey is fun), and about half the players weren't viable prospects.
  17. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:44 PM) preseason game. chi vs mont 4-1 chi is on top with many backup players on the ice. Ugh. Preseason is such a tease.
  18. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:28 PM) i hope you can excuse me.... i am a little on the edge and i want to reply to your post. i like what you wrote. but consent on what taking her to his home, taking her, who at this time volunteering to go into a room with him... this is a comment that need some considering of what really happen. only 2 people knows for sure. it is a credibility question. And I get it, he should be able to take a girl home having never met her before. But if he wants to mitigate risk, he can meet girls the good old fashioned way and be an adult and take her to dinner and a movie or whatever. I know it sounds somewhat naive, but it's also somewhat common sense.
  19. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) but that is luck.... it is not that he is trying to get in these situation, he is a the wrong place and the wrong time. but let me go further, he hired a driver .... an off duty cop.... also to act as a body guard. yet he still get into this situation. what more can he do??? Get consent. Period.
  20. People on twitter like to throw around the word "exonerated" to describe what will happen to Kane. No one is winning. This isn't a game. A woman believes she was violated, a star hockey player is a behavioral problem, a Stanley Cup offseason is completely ruined, and Blackhawk fans look bad like Joe Paterno supporters and Ray Rice supporters.
  21. QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 07:02 PM) He may be innocent but let's not act like Kane is a very smart or a very good person. He had a coke problem, hepunched a cab driver over some change, he attempted to choke a woman at University of Wisconsin and now this after weeks before saying "watch out for me" at the SC parade. It's apparent he has no idea how to act as a young man with millions. It doesn't help that his dad is a f***ing moron who has enabled him for years. I would not be the least bit surprised if the Hawks make him get his alcohol abuse issue looked at and, whether or not he does it, attempt to deal him in July 2016 because he cannot be trusted. They won't deal him, but they may well look into his substance abuse issues. Agreed he may not be a good person. This isn't his first altercation.
  22. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 04:09 PM) Say what you want about the horses*** Royals organization, but they've made the playoffs 2 years in a row now. Will there come a time the Sox are dominant again? And to those who say I'm a closet Royals fan I again turned down free tickets in mezzanine level with that same group of friends because I see no point in watching a game of a team I don't care about. Give me the Sox or give me no ball in person. The only two horses*** organizations in the AL Central are the Indians and the White Sox. The Royals have reemerged despite their stupid manager.
  23. He's going to pull down A-Rod money. The market will demand it.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 04:51 PM) Couldn't agree more! I wish we could clinch, but the magic number against us is 2
