  1. And we will. No doubt about it. First you need cost controlled assets (developed prospects) so you know you're not wasting money on free agents. Draftees are the foundation. Free agents fill the holes
  2. Sequel to the Moncada thread. The last thread about him is scorched earth. Let’s chat about him specifically. So far, so good
  3. You can afford to pay all these guys in a situation like this. But yeah, I agree with @Chicago White Sox. GTFO
  4. Go find another team and spare us more of this horseshit.
  5. I have never "ripped" JR for being cheap in free agency. @Moan4Yoan can vouch for me. And it's not about the money, it's about having the player an extra year.
  6. If they can't sign him, they won't call him up. Simple as that. They'd be crazy not to manipulate service time on a player who might turn out to be a superstar.
  7. What case does anyone have against our management for blatant tanking this year? We're hovering right below .500. Besides, you don't punish teams for tanking, you change the system to not favor tanking. Period.
  8. It's not a matter of being afraid or not. It's not even really a matter of paying attention. You are not a professional athlete and are unlikely to do something as basic as buying a beer when a baseball is flying at your head. Nets are essential. The end.
  9. Ultimately the nickname will whatever seems natural, not forced Like "Bacon"
  10. Sounds like, we are going with the Magic Man. Works for me. Rebuild seems to be going swimmingly
  11. Do everyone a favor: ignore @Fan O'Faust and stop quoting him. We ignore him to not have to read his trash and this isn't helping.
  12. Time for @CaliSoxFanViaSWside to take one for the team ?
  13. 100% Tough decisions must be made.
  14. Yeah, I didn't see him in any interviews say that stuff. I wonder what the question was
  15. Jose Abreu, in order to stay with the White Sox for the foreseeable future, needs to be ready to DH regularly. Vaughn looks to be 10 times the player Beckham was projected to be.
  16. Sounds like a power hitting outfielder
  17. The 05 team, which went wire to wire and lost only one game in the postseason, and its World Series victory had nothing to do with a song. Superstition is for north siders.
  18. That means Joe goes. Has to mean that.
  19. Right. And here's the thing. From what I have heard and read, DH is a really really hard spot to play. You bat and it's all you think about. If we're stacked with young guys, I'm not putting one of them at DH. Sorry, I'm just not. DH is a mental drain because you simply do not play the field and have a ton of time to think about previous at bats, good or bad. Andrew Vaughn and Eloy Jimenez will not be DHing for this team for a long time. If Jose wants to be an elder statesman and leader for a young team on the rise, he needs to step up and take the DH spot.
  20. Time for our guy Jose to decide how badly he wants to stay in Chicago then, I'm afraid. His comments indicated he would do quite a lot for this organization and he really wants to stay in Chicago. Here's his shot. DH 70% of the time.
  21. Honestly, at this point there is only one team and it's team rebuild.
