Uh... We already blew it up, FOF. Your beloved Chris Sale, who apparently is worth an entire rebuild, is gone and so is Quintana. And Eaton. And on and on. FOF, what's going on, dude? Are you sure you follow the White Sox?
-
It screams fishing for reasons to complain.
-
The poster implied we should be looking for FAs and no FA would sign here. That's not where we are. Keep up, FOF
-
So you're basically just having an unnecessary, narrow conversation that does not matter. You're living in the past, FOF
-
Well, the formula isn't "blow it all up, sign free agents, win". There are a few more steps than that. I suggest you go swap your pinstripes for Yankee pinstripes if rebuilding correctly upsets you.

Eloy's batting like .330 in the minors. And yeah, win and the fans come back. It's a tried and true strategy for larger market teams.

Adam Eaton with a subtle shot at the White Sox?
Bananarchy replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
In fairness, that was a one time thing. He didn't have some rampant history of vandalism against the White Sox that suddenly got "fixed" by going to Boston. And yeah, Adam was a big part of the problem and I'm still glad he's gone. -
That's fine. I like Abreu a lot, but he's not the future.
-
Learn what a rebuild is. They can take years. They are literally about living in the future. Remember when Starlin Castro was the future on the north side? Where was he when the Cubs won the World Series? Oh, right. He wasn't there. Stop living in the past, FOF.

Every poster deserves better than this trash post. 2012 Astros - 55-107 2017 Astros 2012 Cubs - 61-101 2016 Cubs

Look man, I'm not going to convince you of the obvious. It's clearly beyond your understanding. What matters is the White Sox are in pure talent collection mode and the org had no use for an Ace starting pitcher. Moncada will be fine and it will be a nice trade but don't make the mistake of thinking his success or lack thereof is somehow indicative of the success or failure of the rebuild. The rebuild matters infinitely more than whatever you get back for Sale and to cry about the return is to completely miss the picture.
-
Big picture, it's not a big deal. Now, if like six or seven guys fail to turnout, that's a big deal, but Fan O'Skyisfalling is being unreasonable.
-
It's nice, but it's by no means necessary. The best players on the Cubs and Astros were all drafted by their teams. Big picture, it's about sustained amassing of talent. The success or failure of this rebuild is not tied to Moncada's performance any more than the Cub rebuild was tied to Baez in 2014 or 2015.
-
Hahn came back knowing he got a top 5 prospect in baseball. If he doesn't turn out, that sucks. Doesn't mean anything with regard to the rebuild. Nice try, though.
-
There's a better "s" word than serious. The same "s" word for fans who are worried about Moncada now I'll leave it at that. It's a rebuild. Moncada the all star would be great, but it is by no means a big deal if he's not. No one player makes or breaks a rebuild.

Maybe, but this is a domestic violence issue and Meyer's wife is a state employee so there are potentially Title IX ramifications as well. -

He's screwed. they probably will have to if too much more comes out about this. -
Dude. Who the hell cares? Chris Sale does not matter. His career was wasted here. At the very worst, we got worse and moved up the draft board. We needed prospects. We didn't need a top 5 starting pitcher when we moved Sale. We don't need more anything. We need, out of EVERY transaction that happened between blow it all up day and the end of the "rebuild" a team of nine fielders and a pitching staff. And, FYI, everyone blew Moncada's scouting if he was a flop.
-
I don't think he's saying we can't win with him at SS, but a WS winning White Sox team with TA at SS would clearly have one noticeable weak spot.
-
Not really. The White Sox had no use for Chris Sale at the time. No one player breaks a rebuild. No one looks at the Astros and seriously goes "Man, they blew that rebuild when they passed on Kris Bryant". Quit living in the past.
-
Right. The whole point of a strong farm is to generate multiple talented MLB players. No one player can make or break that.
-
I can see why it's tempting to go full Greg and blow the rebuild, but you simply can't do that in this day and age. You have to be bad for a long enough time to rebuild the whole system.
-
Same. Machado at more valuable position.

9 year anniversary of MB's perfect game: where were you?
Bananarchy replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Was in a chemical plant for work. Had a safety issue onsite that required removal of all non-essential personnel. Got home around the 2nd. Watched the whole thing.
