  1. My understanding is that when Frank played, AA was better in terms of top talent and AAA was just a holding league for replacement level players. Now it seems like the top talent still tends to hang out in AA but there is just a lot more AAA talent, particularly in pitching. I'm in no hurry to move Eloy around, but he does need to see AAA pitching.
  2. I'll take this kid. Don't care who in the majors he interferes with. Give me the best guy.
  3. Greg, you understand how this works. I know you do.
  4. Most of us were pretty ready for terrible. The Astros won 51 in 2013 and I would be surprised if the Sox didn't match it.
  5. Spiegel and Goff followed by Bernstein and Parkins would have been pretty good
  6. The Sun-Times was a notoriously bad website for a long time with popups everywhere. As far as 670 goes, I really don't care for McKnight in his spot. Mac and Parkins are fine, but as weird as he was, 670 is missing the hell out of Terry Boers
  7. I hated this pick but I didn't expect this at all. I feel terrible for the kid.
  8. Regardless of how many Series we are winning or not, we will be a much better team post rebuild even if we don't make the playoffs every year. Have you watched the last decade of baseball, greg? This lightning in a bottle crap sucks.
  9. Hard to compare across sports, but Linebackers are bigger, faster, and hit much harder today. Walter Payton would still be great, but he would play as hard as any player in the current game. Pitchers, on average, throw harder now than they did in Pete Rose's era. Pete Rose would still be great today, but I get the feeling Mike Trout would still be a better player if both were playing todays game Between the mess he had made of the Bulls and the similar problems we are seeing with the Timberwolves, Tom Thibodeau coached teams are a stern warning of what happens when you don't rest basketball players I guess what I'm trying to say is, sports medicine has gotten a lot better, but teams are also getting smarter. Better players, increased intensity, increased risk of injury. Teams have deemed resting players as a potential way to address these risk.
  10. What are the standard deviation and median? Depending on those measurements, 24 could be quite old. I have to imagine one standard deviation is 18 months or less.
  11. Cub-une is a level of pettiness below serious baseball fans. Besides, if you’re a serious baseball fan, you don’t care about the trib. The Athletic is the only place to be.
  12. How would bunting have helped? Moncada would be stranded on 3rd.
  13. It's annoying but it's fine. too many holes in our lineup. If Yoan were leading off, this wouldn't be a problem. If he keeps hitting, he needs to be 1 or 2 in the order.
  14. This is a lot different. Experts saw a struggling Moncada and still recognized he was going to be great. Just a much better specimen who does a number of things better.
  15. When you get your ride, take it somewhere fun and take pictures!
  16. I think there's a 60% chance Rick is coaching in 2020. We don't know for sure, but if Joe Maddon hadn't come available in 2015, would the Cubs have moved on from Rick?
  17. As far as I'm concerned, Yoan is left handed. I know my opinion doesn't matter but we need him on base.
  18. That's okay. We're going to get Ace Fulmer tonight. That one run is all he needs.
  19. Yoan has responded to the benching the other night. Rick knows what he's doing.
