Royals at ReyLo Game Thread -The ReyLo Game-
Bananarchy replied to Ducksnort's topic in 2017 Season in Review
QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 06:59 PM) I live in SW WI. We are considered in market for the Sox but are 180 miles from Chicago. Any of the affiliates that broadcast the WGN games are too far away to get a signal unless you have a perfect line of sight. I can get CSN games only. The MLB packages are blacked out because we are in market. Its ridiculous. Saw this is Champaign in college. Awful. -
I get excited, particularly when you consider we're adding another BPA in a top 5 draft slot this year and possibly next year.

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 10:14 AM) A small part of the is also getting Sale's contract off the books. He's a great bargain still, but dealing him saved the Sox roughly $39.5 million We have cleared tons of money off of our books, and even more will be freed after Shields' deal expires after 2018. We are in a great position financially. Right now, as a White Sox fan, the only concerns I have are with regards to the talent the White Sox draft. It's kind of nitpicky, but I would be a bit more comfortable if I knew any of the White Sox positional draft picks would pan out. Our farm system is so stacked it probably doesn't matter a lot and I haven't lost faith in Tim Anderson, but that's my only concern.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 09:40 AM) You can argue the Sale trade feels a player light, but we arguably got back the highest ceiling positional & pitching prospects in baseball. If even one of these two works out, the trade is an anbsolute win for us because we were not going to be able to put a winner around Sale before we lost him to free agency. If both work out, wow is all I have to say. Ultimately the Sox got what they needed to make a no regrets deal and took it. The move was made 100% on merit with the intention of kicking the rebuild off right and had nothing to do with behavioral issues. The notion that the front office RF aded Sale & Eaton for such reasons and only then decided to rebuild is some the bats*** craziest nonsense I have ever heard. Not to mention they basically gave us the $35M. Moncada is cheap when he's really an expensive asset. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 10:05 AM) I'm surprised the board is not talking about Moncada as well. He is essentially the key piece to our rebuilding effort and he just had a superstar performance last night. Even though wins do not matter moving forward in 2017, this game felt oddly significant and a glimpse into what our very bright future holds. Moncada has all the potential to become a star player for the White Sox. I'm realistic about the fact we're better off losing, but if we win, it's best the young guys contribute with it.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 11, 2017 -> 08:39 AM) I'm not gonna read too much into it, BUT if we get the same showings from Glennon and Trubisky next week, then week 3 will be veeeeeeery interesting. Glennon looked pretty meh. Meredith dropped a first down before the pick 6, but he put that interception up in a bad place, and missed a wide open Wright underneath the route. I also felt like Glennon was locking on receivers as soon as he got the ball If the Bears lose a couple of games and start the season 0-2 with a bad looking Glennon, they have to go to Trubisky, right?

Give me this over torn jerseys. This is fun.

Love that he's always projected in the 3-4 spot of a future White Sox lineup. I'm so ready for next spring.

This Willson Contreras injury sounds bad bad bad

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Aug 10, 2017 -> 12:46 PM) Prepare to be disappointed. SB attempts around the league are at an all time low, pitchers and catchers have better arm than ever. Homeruns are at an all time high and that's the main focus of many players, even from the traditional non-power positions. Sox as a team also do not run a lot. We have guys like Anderson, Leury, Engel, and even Saladino who stole more 40 bags in a minor league season, but really were not asked to run a lot. Sabreheads don't value steals as much because steals in and of themselves knowingly put people on base at risk of being out.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 9, 2017 -> 09:57 PM) I don't mind us kicking Houston's ass. I can't stand their fan base. They have a fan base? I live 180 miles away and I have yet to meet a real Astros fan

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 7, 2017 -> 05:21 AM) The Sox had Q and a pretty good bullpen for most of this season. Since they got rid of those guys, they are 3-19. Lopez and Giolitto will have to be lights out to make this a team a 90 loss roster, and they couldn't even do that in Charlotte where the Knights are 20 under .500. Shame on those two pitchers for not carrying a team of career MiLBers to victory. There's literally no rationality in your posts sometimes. This one takes the cake.

QUOTE (Quin @ Aug 6, 2017 -> 10:48 AM) Seriously, what did you want this team to do? You were against signing free agents. Trading for big names. You screamed hero worship at every poster. What is your wish, other than to be different from everyone else? He wants to be able to say "I told you so", but he's always wrong, soooooo

Figured out how to keep myself occupied during the downtime on this site. 1) Buy floor lamps 2) But Philips Hue lights 3) Nerd out watching colors change on new lamps

I'm not sure I make a move for Profar and I'm not sure the Rangers would accept a deal from us for Profar. I wanted to like the kid, but injuries and some unfortunate timing have dimmed his star.
-
Yes, he can.

QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 4, 2017 -> 10:08 PM) Lousy slide by Moncada at third base. Belly slide, and he short armed it. Out. Feet first, he makes it. And when Nicky was picked off second, it looked to me as if the infielder was blocking the base before he had the ball. Oh, well. Yeah, luckily none of that matters.

I hate Delmonico
-
Just swing. Jesus.
-
I like Delmonico
-
I have literally zero worries about Moncada. It's hard to teach that crap.

I literally just stopped crying

Didn't look like a tear. Hopefully everything is okay -
QUOTE (ron883 @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 02:17 PM) You need vets like Melky during rebuilds. Bad trade imo Even if that were true (it's not), we don't need Melky and Abreu And veteran locker room guys are cheap.
