QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 23, 2017 -> 06:33 AM) I'm so excited for us to let the trade exception expire with no moves made. I'm excited for your guy Porter to be a Bull. Can you imagine? -

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 11:12 PM) I hate this organization so much. This is going to sound insulting, but the thing to do here is not watch. The Bulls are a financial juggernaut that sell out every game. -

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 10:35 PM) That is a lot of money...but still...what do I care. None of that helps the rebuild. Unless of course we are going to buy 3 2nd round picks with that 3.5M...in which case I'm okay. Orlando just traded draft rights for two future picks. That's a rebuild trade. Albeit, it's two 2020 picks. -

I'm interested to see what happens with Jimmy in Minnesota. Wiggins, Townes, and Lavine were all in the top 10 in minutes last year. So was Butler, but Butler severely faded in the playoffs. Under Thibs, I can't help but think they could mess this up by overplaying Butler. -

I don't get what the big deal is if you're butler or butler's useless trainer. He signed a contract with no movement protection. Players get traded. I'm annoyed by a bad Bulls trade, but I don't believe in that level of loyalty to a guy who signed a contract. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 09:12 PM) You don't have to get assets that help you this year to get off on the right foot on a rebuild. Maybe a (or some) future first round picks? Future picks would be ideal. Problem is, after the way Boston destroyed the Nets for the foreseeable future, teams have been pretty guarded with their future picks. -

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 08:55 PM) I mean, as a fan of the White Sox, you don't see the benefit of getting off on the right foot with a rebuild? This was their only opportunity, and they seem to have completely blown it... NBA rebuilds don't reward hitting the ground running. Some years there are only one or two stars and they usually go one or two. To tank is to do everything you can to get enough ping pong balls to land the number one or two pick. The problem is, get too good without getting that transcendent star and you lose the opportunity to break through the NBA hell barrier. It sucks it has to be that way, but the game is the game. -

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 08:17 PM) Hard to believe people are paid millions of dollars to be this bad at their job. I get the idea, I just can't believe they couldn't have gotten better trash later on. Meh, if you're bad, you're bad. Cut Wade, let Rondo go. Win 12 games and get Porter. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 07:50 PM) And that's why I didn't want this front office making a Butler trade. Not a good trade, but at least they have decided to rebuild, which is the right decision. -

Thank God we're not going in with that three alpha bullcrap anymore. QUOTE (New Era on South Side @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 07:05 PM) At least they picked a lane - the s***ter. Good. More high draft picks -

Schwarber is a DH. It's idiotic that he's on the Cubs. A lot of this blame goes the JM, too. That guy was insistent on making Schwarber leadoff for no good reason. He's a slugger. Bat him fifth.

QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 03:24 PM) Hmmmm I would do it either way. Whether you include Lavine or not but definitely yes if Lavine is included. Wiggins gets you younger and will give you pretty much the same offensive production as Jimmy minus the defense and you get your guy Fox at 7. This team needs to rebuild. Its going to be a roll of the dice no matter which way you look at it. Majority of NBA teams arent as dumb as Brooklyn to give organization crippling returns on trades. Nailed it. They're either bad (Wiggins just hasn't panned out) or Wiggins thrives in a new situation. This team needs to get blown up. -

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 10:51 AM) Not anymore, traded to Carolina, which is becoming the new Florida for ex-Hawks. Kruger is still a Hawk for now, but lots of rumors out there The urgency is less now that Hossa is out, but I still think it wise to open up some space in Kruger's place if possible. Team has to get younger and have room to sign younger guys. -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 02:58 PM) They weren't outright tanking. But the Sonics/Thunder were pretty damn awful the years that led to them drafting Durant/Westbrook/Harden. The Cavs won 17 games in 2002-2003. That's textbook tank. They were rewarded with the second greatest player in NBA history. -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 03:07 PM) But if you build too swiftly, you find your way into NBA Hell because you need two superstars and at least one other All-Star to compete in today's NBA. While this is somewhat true, if you get the one superstar, free agents are more likely to join you to play with them. It will be interesting to see if Houston clicks on the model, because there are a lot of potential movers to Houston. -

QUOTE (2005thxfrthmmrs @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 11:09 AM) Except that the Bulls won an average of over 50 games from '87-91, made 2nd round, 2 ECF, and finally the Finals during that time. I would not call that part of the rebuild. Take that MJ example for a second, even after you collect all your picks 5-7 years from now, it will still take you a number of years to develop players and chemistry before becoming a true contender. If that fails, you'd start over again. 1987-1991 is not "before Jordan" A rebuild essentially ends once you land a superstar. Once that happens, you build around them, but you no longer tank because you no longer need to -

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 21, 2017 -> 09:28 AM) Yeah, but he's in Milwaukee. They should be looking to find a way to acquire Giannis as he enters his prime like the other good organizations I am sure area already plotting. The Bulls, of course, are not. I hate feeling this way, but I get the feeling no one is planning on signing with this Bulls front office in free agency. Plus, the league is just so heavily biased towards players signing with the team that drafted them.
