  1. get hyped!!! TANKFORBEER!
  2. This f***ing Cubs lineup is stacked. Not sure I would bat Heyward 6th And the Pope is the greatest leader in the world.
  3. I haven't watched the DBacks in a while, but they don't have much of a brand, do they? Seems like they have a different uni every year. Awful. And the Giants are going to blow this Why the hell is the Diamondbacks' mascot not a snake?
  4. I wish Charlotte could play in Round Rock
  5. QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 03:50 PM) Excellent banner, but I truly hope we can do better than Beer. I want to see what comes by the time that draft comes around. Tank for Beer will do in the meantime.
  6. QUOTE (Nokona @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 03:13 PM) All losing streaks are hereby referred to as a "Beer Run" YES Also, I like "TankforBeer" as lingo for "Tankforbestplayeravailable"
  7. IT was an amazing book. Looking forward to this take
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 01:48 PM) Definitely time to stop with that. I liked the spring training unis a lot. They should use that as the alternate. Agreed with everyone who says this needs a break. I also wouldn't be opposed to an ST type regular season jersey or a '59 jersey
  9. QUOTE (Al Lopez's Ghost @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) Clothes don't make the man. Look cool, sell merch. The White Sox have had a ton of luck, specifically on the hat front.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 09:38 AM) They cut way back on that last year, if I recall correctly...which was nice. Hopefully that pattern continues. Our home unis are some of the best in baseball.
  11. That's a lot better. Now if they wouldn't wear the black jerseys every game
  12. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 08:29 AM) Who should we have spent money on to make this team a no-doubt contender? Is Josh Phegley available? There's really no reason to waste any cash for a team early in a rebuild.
  13. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 08:26 AM) Well, to be fair, Rodon. Touche. However, the only way to make Rodon even meaningful is to rebuild something different and more effective.
  14. QUOTE (Boogua @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 11:50 PM) This. I was so upset last year when they were giving him curtain calls and stuff during the season. The guy was a career backup catcher that played two years for the Cubs. I just couldn't understand. I had a facebook friend ask, "I need to get a Cubs world series jersey. Should I get Rizzo or a Grandpa Ross jersey?" I was shocked and disgusted at how many people said Ross. Like really? They have a top 5 player in the game and they are considering a David Ross jersey? Idiots.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 2, 2017 -> 12:04 AM) Did you not read my post with specific reasons we could have contended?? Nobody's responding to my plan, which would have had the Sox with a fighting chance to win. Your plan is trash. We've seen that plan before. It's won us nothing in the past 10 years
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 11:20 PM) I assume you mean my disbelief in the rebuild. We traded Sale and Eaton. And we got Tilson for Duke. That's it so far. And so many Sox fans have bought into the idea of a rebuild. Why am I uninformed? My take that we have enough veterans and enough talent still on the roster (assuming Moncada and at least one of the starters we got via trade are called up in May) that we could have just as easily PAID FOR a catcher and DH in free agency and maybe acquired one more reliable reliever to actually contend this season. Now I'm told it's good our team loses 100 or more games this season so we can get a damn draft pick. How much u wanna bet we take another starting pitcher in the draft and not some stud everyday player. You wait, our organization will fall in love with some arm somewhere. There are 1-2 posters who are also skeptical. I forget the one guy's name. And El Rockin still hasn't made his position. He seems to think every team we field has a chance to win. So what is your problem with my position on all this? That I want to know how people are going to act in game threads and watching games? Yes I wanna know what kind of losses everybody wants?? DO you want our starters to implode from the get-go in games or to lead and blow games late? You try to justify a decade of losing because you're losing sight of how the game has evolved. You literally know nothing about baseball ten years ago and yet the game has moved so far past you, everyone, even the skeptics, knows that whatever opinion they have, it's closer to reality than whatever nonsense you post. You're not a troll. Trolls craft bad posts to push posters buttons. You just don't know better.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 08:59 PM) The team has made the playoffs once in 11 seasons, none in the past 8. If you are still a fan now, why would a few more years of losing change anything? Exactly. We had a 63 win season in there! 63 wins. And for what?
  18. Okay, who voted less than 54? That would make for a great pick, but even the 2012 Cubs won 61 games.
  19. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 05:36 PM) Made a deal with the devil. Going to work at 3am Monday, I work till 11. So me and my family can attend the game. Our first opening day. Good luck, sir!
  20. This thread is a huge case for a like-dislike button. So much good on this thread. The understanding is fairly universal. Except Greg, which only reinforces we're on the right track.
  21. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 07:21 PM) I wish we had Caray and Piersall to get us through this rebuild. I'm not gonna lie: I'm really happy with Jason and Stoney
  22. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 07:18 PM) Sox should be a .500 in 2018 and a contender by 2019. If not, they'll probably suck for another decade. Those are the two options? Stick to fireworks, dude.
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 06:30 PM) Pretty impressive given how many questions we all had in October. They are the best team in the West but playoff hockey is a b****. Should be fun. Think about how far back they were in January. Jeez
  24. QUOTE (Donaldo @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 06:57 PM) Greg sounds like many Cub fans did 4 or 5 years ago and guess what??? they all came back. Sometimes you've got to go through hell before you get to heaven. I endured the rebuild of the late 80s, and I was rewarded for it. My health keeps me from attending games, but I will be watching them on TV (as I always do). And I don't think it's reasonable for us to expect the White Sox to suddenly become the Cubs organization. They did a lot of things right and spent a lot of money, but wouldn't you rather be the Astros right now? But yeah, greg is a contrarian and we're all aware his opinions never make any sense.
  25. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 1, 2017 -> 05:32 PM) This is as happy I've been as a Sox fan for probably the last 4 seasons?? And before Greg comes in with his bulls***, no one is happy they are going to be bad. It's about using just a tad of intellect, understanding the path they were on was NOT working and they finally seem to have a plan with a long term objective in mind. Let's not kid ourselves, aside from a fun April in 2016, we haven't seen a lot of quality baseball on the South Side in a while. This is going to be worse, but it's not like they are coming off a 95 win season. At least now they are trying to lose, and it's for a purpose. Well said. It's simple. If the Sox are going to be bad, I'd rather they be bad while developing young talent like Anderson and Moncada instead of whatever the last ten-ish seasons have been.
