I hate players who steal bases. At their core, they are nothing more than thieves.

We have no idea who is clean and who isn't, on any MLB team. I want to win. I don't care if every player on the Sox is a bigoted drug addict. Does anyone care that David Ortiz is one of the biggest cheats in the history of the game? Absolutely not -- he is regarded as an icon. Asterisks no longer exist in the modern game. Again, I want to win. This team was a lot more difficult to support when it was trotting Dunn, Beckham, Viciedo, and Keppinger out there every day.

Dear Santa Hahn, I know that Christmas is your busy time of year, and that you've been so generous with we Sox fans in answering all of our wishes, but I have one final request: Please sign Jed Lowrie to an incentive-laden, one-year deal. He is relatively young (30), plays an outstanding 2B (6.0 UZR), and is an excellent buy low candidate given his below average BABIP (.281). A one-year deal allows Sanchez and Johnson another year to develop (they need it), and compensates for our relative offensive weaknesses at 3B and C. The 2B situation still makes me nervous, but hey...hopefully the kids can play.

I'm here to eat crow. Melky was my #1 target for the Sox this offseason. After they signed LaRoche, I went scorched earth and criticized Hahn for (in my perception of things) choosing LaRoche over Melky. I had no idea that signing both was possible. Kudos to you, Rick Hahn. I'm just going to STFU and watch you work your magic.

Good God. This makes me almost as excited as the signing itself.

We still have MAJOR holes at LF, 2B, and C. Hence the statistical pessimism.

I wish they would just focus on the best hitter they can get, regardless of handedness.

I'd be disappointed with Ackley as our starting LFer, but happy if he was the 2B. Defensive position matters when evaluating the bat.

Ackley would be a terrific starting 2B for the White Sox.
