  1. At some point, you have to accept circumstances and stop whining. And by 'you', I mean every Bulls fan everywhere. Yeah, Derrick tore his ACl. Yeah, it limited our options. Yeah, it sucks. Lets move on now and can we try to be a little optimistic about changing our bench around for the better now?
  2. Bellinelli can create his own shot. Much better than Korver could. Foye can drive the lane just fine. These guys are a big improvement over C.J./Lucas Take a look at C.J. Watsons at-rim percentage and efficiency with the Bulls. Then take a look at Randy Foye's at-rim percentage and efficiency with the Clippers. It's an improvement.
  3. I think the plan is to send Rips contract out in a S&T for Foye. I really like what we're doing in the offseason. Adding a bunch of guys off the bench who can handle the ball, drive the lane and create their own shot. Randy Foye would be a nice combo guard for us.
  4. Aggrey Sam‏@CSNBullsInsider Source confirms Marco Bellinelli's deal with the Bulls is done. Also: Bulls attempting to sign summer-leaguer Malcolm Thomas to 1-year deal. I doubt we get Thomas, other teams are apparently in the hunt for him too, and can offer more money/more playing time/more years
  5. I don't know what people expect out of bench players. We're signing bench players and people act like we should be signing super stars. Bellinelli and Foye are an answer, they're an answer to bench depth, that's all. People were clamoring that we need more offense, and now that we're trading a bit of our defense for offense off the bench, people are still unhappy. wth?
  6. I understand that there is some reticence here but Malcolm Thomas' skillset is something that translates very well to the NBA. He's a high motor guy who rebounds and is athletic around the rim, very similar to Taj. This isn't a Keith Bogans or a John Lucas, whose skillset doesn't transfer well.
  7. I don't see how having to rely on Taj more would make him easier to trade. I think if we sign Thomas, he will be a garbage time player for us for 1 year as we develop him, sort of like Jimmy was last year for us. After that, Boozer gets amnestied and Mirotic comes over. We'll have a rotation of Mirotic/Thomas, making Taj expendable. Saves money and hopefully gets us a nice piece back.
  8. Nah, I consider him all but a goner. The signing of Nasty Naz makes it elementary. The interesting thing to me now is Malcolm Thomas. Bulls fans are clamoring for the Bulls to sign him, he's young and shows promise, but he plays PF...if he were to sign here he'd get minimal playing time unless Booz or Taj get injured. It's possible to sign him for depth and use Taj as an expendable trade piece then if Thomas pans out but...I don't know.
  9. I hadn't noticed, but I imagine playing starters minutes will get him into shape fast. Nothing builds stamina like repetition.
  10. I don't think he regressed defensively. His rebound increased from his rookie year and his fouls per game remained more or less the same. Defense is one thing Asik is really good at. It's justified to criticize him for regressing offensively, but to say he regressed defensively too? Nah, I don't agree with that.
  11. Yeah...and you know what, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that our PGs never developed a good chemistry with him. I mean, the best passes I've ever seen go to Asik came from Scalabrine. Rose tended to rifle passes at him that he had no prayer of ever catching...and C.J., I dunno...C.J. sucked so ...whatever.... Regardless, Asik is all but gone now so we won't have to talk about him anymore.
  12. I know he looked like he regressed in his 2nd season, but there's a good reason for that: Lockout season, no training camp, no summer league.
  13. He's a freak athlete in the sense that he's a great help side and rim defender. We'll see if our defense and rebounding suffers with him gone. I'm expecting that it will, and it will be noticeable. Hopefully our bench makes up for it by scoring more.
  14. He popped up with 2 outs and bases loaded in the 7th.
  15. Good job, good effort. Beckham really screwed us today...multiple times at the plate.
  16. I'm glad we could score more than 1 in this game. Progress!
  17. Yeah, except that reports indicate that he's telling people he feels fine.
  18. It's all speculation at this point, Konerko apparently is saying he feels fine.
  19. Konerko should have swung hard at that first pitch, it was right down the middle
  20. Dammit, sit down Paulie. Stop talking and sit down.
  21. No, it isn't. Dunn should be moved down for sure
