How far away is Brent Morel from returning? I know everybody hates him but I'm not sure if I'm ready to give up on him yet. Defensively he's at least a lot better than Hudson, and offensively is something Manto can work on him with. I'm willing to give him this year to see if he can work through the kinks.
I don't even think it's the lack of winning that has depressed attendance, it's that the Sox play horrible at home. If this was a .500 ball club but had a good record at home and played exciting ball at home, I think attendance could be decent.
But I really thought we had it in us to be better than a .500 team. The talent is there. Guys like Rios, Dunn, Konerko, Peavy, A.J., Sale all having fantastic years.
This run of bad luck is amazing to watch. If the offense steps up, the pitching blows it. If the pitching is good, the offense lays an egg.
It's like the baseball god does not want the Sox to win any more.
Orlando Hudson sucks balls. When he first got here he was taking a lot of walks so I was okay with him, but now he's just useless. I'd rather see Brent Morel back.
I didn't get to watch the game yesterday so I watched it today.
White Sox offense gets shut down by Travis Wood. Wow. WHAT THE F*** IS WRONG WITH THIS TEAM?!
Playing like bums for weeks.
Well, the fact is also that our offense has been inconsistent as well. The pitching was horrendous, no doubt, but...
I was actually glad to see Paulie and A.J. hit today because they've been in a mini slump at the plate as well. Hopefully that gets them going. Dunn has been striking out like crazy the past few games too.
This is very interesting right now. I'm not even mad because I got all my anger out after that last game. This team has been slumping for a while. It's just interesting to me because this game has highlighted our bad pitching depth.
