  1. 37 of the top 50 most watched TV shows in 2017 were NFL games. The NFL made a billion more last year than the prior. The MLB is fine. The NFL is fine. The NBA is fine. People will always find a sport to b**** about and talk about it potentially dying, yet they stay around and we watch. I agree with you. @greg775, this article is dogshit.
  2. You're right. My apologies. However, while on the topic, I'm reading a farm system ranking article now and they have the Royals dead last and the O's 23rd. Yikes.
  3. Shockingly enough, it might be worse to be an Angels fan. I'm sure living in Anaheim is nice and cheering for Trout is badass, but their roster is old and expensive and their farm system could be baseball's worst.
  4. Agree. I think it should be etched in stone that the best they could pick is #3. After KC deals Moustakas and Baltimore trades Machado, they could both lose 120 games. The Sox won't.
  5. The year before the Sox signed Keppinger, he hit .325. I've seen a lot of "there will be money to be spent" but I haven't seen one poster mention frontline starters (plural), lockdown relievers (plural), and Machado.
  6. Which poster suggested signing multiple frontline starters, lockdown relievers AND Manny Machado? Also, it's not like signing Cabrera, Keppinger, Dunn and Robertson and trading for Samardzija was "half-assed." In hindsight, sure, but at the time, all of those acquisitions were exciting due to each players' recent successes.
  7. You are his biggest fan. James Shields makes more than $20. Justin Upton makes more than $20. Do you not believe he's worth that?
  8. The Sox payroll a few years ago was pretty high and the team was dogshit. I still can't believe your solution to this thing is to continue to patch together the roster with vets every year.
  9. Doesn't walk at all, good D, can steal a base here and there, decent power, good XBH potential. Sounds like Juan Uribe if Uribe was a .280 career hitter rather than a .255 career hitter.
  10. Right, and wasn't Greg thrilled with his performance earlier this year?
  11. The other guy who doesn't get enough love is Laz Rivera. His OPS was .897 at Kannapolis, and after a promotion, it's now 1.023 in WS. He hits a ton of doubles, a few homers and can run.
  12. The first pitch of his first AB whizzed right by his head, and then he got hit... and now he got hit again? This seems more than coincidental
  13. Is Cooper EVER going to “fix” anyone ever again? I know greg thought Soria was, but he’s a closer who throws 92 mph. It was only a matter of time.
  14. I’m surprised JR allowed Rondon to wear #44. Wasn’t that on the track to be retired for Toby Hall?
  15. I bet the Astros were upset that they took Bregman when they had Correa and Altuve
  16. Verlander will probably put one in someone’s ribs later, because as VP of the Unwritten Baseball Rules Co. LLC, Sanchez did a slight dance at third and Salvy Perez is not here to act as President.
  17. No, he hit it to the f***ing gulf.
  18. RT @RyanMcGuffey: Michael Kopech is FIRED up in Charlotte....he's getting flat out screwed by the home plate umpire. Broadcaster just stated up has missed 4 calls already in top of 1st. Steve McCatty gave ump an earful in mound visit. #WhiteSox
  19. What would they ask for from the Cubs, Yankees or Red Sox for Machado?
  20. But nothing is mean about the post I quoted.
  21. "Props to Jose. He's having an awesome year (at the plate). I hope he gets on the all star team. He truly deserves it. Hopefully he gets traded to an AL team so he can still participate in the game without all that confusion" What part of that is mean?
