He was pulled after the 8th. Do you mean what did he gain by staying in even that long?
If so, this is still like spring training for him. He can use every pitch he can get, and it’s not like he had a high pitch count
Remember when Stone was talking about MLB winning streaks earlier and mentioned the Reds streak would come to an end today? Well, the Cubs just lost 8-6 after being ahead 6-1 in the 6th. That completes a 4 game sweep for the Reds.
He’s been taking the bottom of the 7th off all year. He’s likely off socializing with the opposition’s broadcasters. Pretty unprofessional if you ask me but I’m also biased as I think Hawk is the biggest jacka** on the planet
Because of one start?
If we can poke fun at posters for overreacting to a bad start or two, we can certainly do it for overreacting to a good start or two. Outside of that start and maybe one more, Giolito has been ass this year.
If Abreu was actually telling Moncada to dive into home there, then he needs his eyes checked. The catcher could have been 15’ tall and he wouldn’t have caught that.
For the most part I agree, but in his first AB, he took two fastballs that were strikes. I get that umps have fucked him out of some AB’s this year but when pitches are in the zone, he has to swing more.
Wow, strike 1 to Moncada was 5” outside.
It doesn’t sound like Hawk is a big fan of Moncada. He’s usually slobbering over prospects with Moncada’s tools, calling them a bundle of talent and a bunch of other nonsense, but not Moncada.
