Yeah, this poster and Greg are the same person
-
Even if he's bad tonight, I think we'll see a lot of "see, he's a fluke" stuff, but in reality, every good pitcher has a bad outing. I think we need to let this play out for the remainder of the year before making any true declarations.

Should have traded him when they had the chance!

I believe WBWSF and Greg are the same person, tbh. If they have any 29-32 year old veterans, KW and Hahn missed out on them! This team could have hovering around .500!

They're playing .500 baseball over the last 30 games or so. Be happier.

They would have to win again tomorrow if they win tonight for a “series win.” -
He's not a star right now. I know the difference between great, adequate, and "flame out" and I can tell you that in the case of Moncada, if he's adequate, for me he would have flamed out. I hope not. He is, as Hawk would say, a "bundle of talent" and you hate to see those careers ruined by a multitude of small injuries.

When I’ve posted about Moncada over the last few weeks, it’s been in regards to Renteria being ridiculous and not giving him a day off. When a player struggles for an extended period of time, he should get a day off. Next, you should probably check these posts. It’s @fathom criticizing his every AB, talking about his hips flying open, etc, not me, but that would of course require reading. By the way, “*crickets*?” Seriously? I said “love what he did in his first at bat” but again, nice literacy. Lastly, you have no idea my stance on Moncada. I don’t care about Engel, Narvaez, Shields, etc but I do wish nothing but success for Sanchez, Moncada, and the rest of the core. Watching a player, no matter how young, see their OPS and AVG dip significantly over the last month is not only worrisome but it does deserve negative commentary. How many posters were tearing Engel apart in April and May with significantly less than 500 PA’s? Was that okay? If you don’t like opinions when young players stink, or you believe someone is above criticism, unfollow myself and any other poster who doesn’t fit your rainbows and butterflies mindset. -

He’s hitting like .215 over his last 120 at bat’s or so. That’s not a giant magnifying glass. When he swings the bat, he hits it. If I were him, or any major leaguer, I’d likely swing at the straight ones right down the middle. It’s especially hard when you don’t swing. -

Obviously you love what Moncada did in the first, but how do you come back in the second and take 92 right down the middle? -
Robert 0-5 on the day Eloy’s 0-1 and down to .317

The same bad pitcher

Yep, when it’s a strike: good pitch. When it’s a ball: the dirt is messed up.

A fair and balanced soliloquy about Jose Abreu, by ron
soxfan49 replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That's not the argument. He doesn't have to be a star, but paying him like a star if he's merely a shadow of what he used to be would not be smart business. -

But will be a star in 2020-2022? -
I guess no one's been to Delaware

I think you're referring to the Twins series. I thought the home plate umpiring this weekend was fine.

Don’t think L. Garcia has any effect on the playing time of Palka

Race for the worst 2018 record (Top 5 pick) again
soxfan49 replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Sox have 3 more wins than Baltimore, the same amount of wins as Cincinnati/KC, and only one less win than Miami. At this pace they’ll have a top 8 pick, not a top 3 pick. -
In a lost season, I think Palka needs to play every day, whether it’s DH (the spot he’s destined for) or OF (the spot that he could help the Sox lose a few) due to his bat. Remember, he was a very good hitter in Minnesota’s organization but an injury hindered him. If by September 30 or whatever it is he’s still a mess defensively, I believe he should be the 2019 DH, assuming the bat continues to play. By then we should have a better idea if Davidson is a piece of the future or not, too.

By my count the Sox are 13-14 over their last 27 EDIT- and Kamka just tweeted the same thing ?
-
Palka deserves consistent playing time for the rest of the season. He’s been unbelievable

GIVE HIM A F***ING DAY OFF, JACKASS
