  1. I agree on Fry, but based on history, Jones’ arm could explode at any moment.
  2. I wonder if Narvaez could hit for a 700 OPS at Great Falls. He f***ing blows.
  3. Not sure where you drew that conclusion because his curveball was garbage in 2017
  4. Yeah because you would have signed Tyler Chatwood, right?
  5. Can't we just combine this thread with the "Abreu- will he stay or go?" thread?
  6. But if Covey continues to throw well, I think you have to leave him in the rotation and see if you found a diamond in the rough. As for Shields, I think it's wishful thinking to assume he gets dealt. Ideally, he will, but that's a large chunk of money for someone to take.
  7. Willie Harris stunk, but his ability to PR in late innings and steal a bag was very useful. You know, he scored the only run of game 4 of the WS.
  8. Even if Turner was in the same situation as Saladino, that's one guy out of, what, 10k that struggle after being awful for years? I think you missed the point. I know he was hurt, but it's not like the injuries forced him to miss the whole year; he got in 281 PA's, and based on the prior years (although not as bad as 2017), he was very mediocre, in MILB and MLB. While the back injury forced him to go from mediocre to bad, he still wasn't anything special prior to.
  9. Who will Kopech replace then, assuming Rodon & Lopez stay healthy, Covey continues to pitch relatively well, and Giolito stays here?
  10. Bobby Witt Jr. seems to be the consensus #1 but so much changes in a year
  11. He was drafted in the 7th round in 2010. He wasn't even a productive minor league hitter. When guys stink in the minors, stink in the majors and then have a very good 21 games, you can imagine why the majority of us believe it's an anomaly. For the record, a 28 year old who has consistently stunk isn't "old" by any standards, but it typically is for a player to turn his entire career around.
  12. When you and @WBWSF are the next President and GM, respectively, of a franchise, you can take up that agitation with the commish.
  13. I'm aware of that, but it's not like it was due to injury. It was due to performance. He had 281 PA's. He had more than ample opportunity and he blew it.
  14. In his final full year with the Sox, he hit below .180. Are your eyes f***ed up or something?
  15. Yeah, I think Baltimore ends up #1, because Machado will be gone & Jimenez and Kopech will be up. The only way the Sox have a chance to finish with the #1 pick is if they trade Abreu.
  16. 3 days ago, I said that Moncada was struggling but that was TOO SMALL OF A SAMPLE SIZE!!!!!!! Fast forward to now, and everyone is also thinking that he’s struggling. I guess 3 more games is the perfect sample size for Sox fans. He’s now 13 for his last 64. Edit- Make that 13 for his last 65.
  17. Don’t listen to him. Benetti laughed when he said it. The sarcasm was laid on pretty thick.
  18. That’s not what he said. He said “you see 7 K’s in 6 innings and you think that maybe he didn’t have his best stuff,” and then you evidently didn’t hear Benetti chuckle. He was obviously being sarcastic. You’re on a roll today
  19. What? He said his offspeed pitches are coming along & that he has a bright future
  20. When the ball bounced in, Gomes was 2 feet from the bag. Not sure how that qualifies as “all the time in the world,” but one pump and he would have been safe regardless
  21. He threw the ball from the outfield, and Skole clearly should have made the play.
