  1. You would have rather seen the Sox win today as Lopez pitches terribly rather than today's outcome? Interesting.
  2. They'd have to play almost .500 baseball the rest of the way to win 70. If my math is right, they'll have to finish 61-67. I highly doubt this happens.
  3. You sort of contradict yourself. This post defends the rebuild, but... "It is kind of funny that Hahn and company thought the culture of this team was so great that Manny would want to re-sign here if he was on this particular team. Sometimes I wonder if the front office has a grasp on reality" ...contradicts that as you seem to say Hahn is clueless.
  4. I thought I heard that Palka was crushing the ball in the MIN organization and then got injured. Maybe now that he's healthy, he's proving himself in the MLB and perhaps he can be something.
  5. Wasn't his weight always in question? Not sure how anyone can adamantly say he was in great shape.
  6. Also, do you remember how good the 2005 White Sox were? You're implying that they won 80 games, snuck into the playoffs and went nuts in October.
  7. Think you got that expression wrong
  8. When Giolito is off, he’s constantly kicking around his plant spot on the mound. When it’s going fine, the dirt is wonderful! Don’t be that guy. He’s like the high school catcher who’s always flexing his arm when he bounces in an attempted caught stealing. Childish.
  9. If Dunning and Lopez are good, the trade is a win.
  10. The Astros and Cubs are going to be dominant for only a few years and win “maybe” one World Series? You actually believe that?
  11. It was meant for humor. I understand the reasoning for having him in the lineup for now.
  12. That one looked to be 450+ feet to the opposite field ?
  13. Rabbit is excited because he can't wait to watch Shields
  14. Isn’t the Joliet Slammers’ stadium called “Cards Against Humanity Ballpark” or something?
  15. I don't think anyone is doubting that the Sox can't lose another 95+ games next year, but to say they should have signed a bunch of FA's to go from a 55 win team to a 70 win team is absurd. If you're going to suck and embrace it, suck and embrace it. I think they win 75-80 games next year assuming Kopech and Jimenez start the year with the big league team and probably 85-90 if those 3 guys are really good.
  16. I’m referring to impact FA’s, not bridge guys. If you and Greg would have been happy with s*** signings like those, then I guess we’re arguing 2 different points. So, one? The Sox signed Welington Castillo so I guess Greg should be excited and stop complaining
  17. Greg’s argument seems to be taking place in the future. If Moncada, Jimenez and Kopech were in the majors and crushing it, fine, he’d have a case. But right now? what would be the benefit of that, aside from the “benefit” of winning 78 games?
  18. But how many did they sign from 2010-2013 when their rebuild was beginning?
  19. Yeah, so at the END of their rebuild and when they were ready to compete, they signed players to add into guys that were apart of the rebuild. Greg’s assuming that the Sox won’t since RIGHT NOW they aren’t signing free agents. That’s the issue. Furthermore young guys like Bryant, Contreras, Russell and Rizzo were the reason they were great and will compete every year, just as the Kopechs, Moncadas, and Jimenezs of the world will be as they fill in other spots with FA’s
  20. Ventura was signed as a teenager, Moustakas/Hosmer/Gordon were drafted, and Wade Davis was traded for & Bryant/Schwarber were drafted, Rizzo was traded for, and Contreras was signed as a teenager...but since you know best, tell me who the Royals and Cubs paid that were MAJOR keys to their World Series wins. How about Boston and New York? Because I'm sure you realize NYY hasn't won a championship since 2009 and the Red Sox last win in 2013 came in large part because of two guys that they DRAFTED (Pedroia, Ellsbury), right?
  21. This couldn't be any more untrue A few weeks ago, I asked you to come up with a team that won a World Series recently because their FO spent a ton of money. I'm still waiting for that answer. I'm also still waiting for an answer on "the Sox have went this route since 2008 and it hasn't worked, so why do you want them to continue to do so?" I'll hang up and listen (for both answers, hopefully)
