  1. We said the same when they drafted Randall and Rollins. They took King last year, and now they’ve taken Alexander & Jackson. I get having good corners, but if you’re pass rush is average, it doesn’t help much.

    2018 catch-all

    What ever happened to wite?
  3. Really, I'd be fine with Daniels, Key, Kirk or Anthony Miller. I'm not sure how well Hernandez fits into this scheme; he's more road grader than he is athletic. I'm guessing he goes to NYG anyway,
  4. We can all agree to disagree. I think the Bears are already loaded with decent to good players. I don't need more Adrian Amos' and more Nick Kwiatkoski's. I want the Derwin James/Minkah Fitzpatrick or Roquan Smith's of the world, and those caliber players are USUALLY only around in the first round. I absolutely love a philosophy of moving up or staying pat and getting your guy. If a trade makes sense, fine, but Bears fans were mad about Floyd, pissed about Trubisky, and now we're somewhat upset, not because they got a good player, but because they could have gotten someone else + some mid rounders. Nothing pleases the fan base. BTW, it looks like 2013-2015 had a 20% hit rate on 2nd rounders (6/30 in 2013, 9/32 in 2014, and 4/32 in 2015).
  5. Had you read, you would have saw that it's not my definition. 15% of second round picks are good or great players. It's relatively easy to understand. Just because guys are starting for the team that drafted them 4 years later doesn't make them good.
  6. No, it's not, but since it goes with your belief, continue to push whatever you want. What I said was 15% of second rounders "moderately (or better) directly effect a team's success." So yeah, 4 years later Cody Latimer was still starting for the Broncos. In that time he caught 35 passes. What a great selection! (thus not directly effecting or resulting in success for the Broncos) In other words, 15% of second round picks are good or great players. The others are just average, below average or complete s***. The Colts, Browns, hell even the Bears have had MANY second round picks who are crap likely starting for their teams 4 years after they were drafted because the roster was and still is awful.
  7. You're right. Assuming GB is picking at about 20 and NO at about 30, it'd have to be those 2 picks plus their 2nd rounder to get to #5. Not bad.
  8. Not sure either the Saints or Packers' slot will be high enough to get him, even with a trade up (and thank god too, because he's going to be a star)
  9. It actually hasn't worked out all too well for Belichick, but agree to disagree. Since 2014, I've found 4-5 good players they've drafted- Cam Fleming, Jimmy Garoppolo, Deatrich Wise, Trey Flowers and arguably Shaq Mason. They have Tom Brady, and their system makes all of the other guys great. It's about 25% historically, but for apples to apples, it was 33% from 2013-2015.
  10. I know that. I'm not completely discrediting mid-round picks, but it seems like Bears fans solution every year is TRADE DOWN!!!! They hated trading up for Trubisky and hated trading up for Floyd. Now they stay still and get the best ILB in the draft, and we're upset over it. I'd much rather stay and get a top 10 pick than one in the teens (where the percentages drop again), especially if the prospect is as good as most think he is.
  11. I'm not going to use 2016 or 2017 yet because it's too early to judge, but there were 106 third round picks from 2013-2015. I've identified 11 that are moderately impactful or better: Larry Warford, Tyrann Mathieu, Keenan Allen, Jordan Reed, Morgan Moses, Trai Turner, Jerick McKinnon (questionable), Tyler Lockett (questionable), AJ Cann (questionable), Ty Montgomery (questionable) and David Johnson. Even giving you the questionable guys, that's 10.4%. If I removed 2 of the 4 questionable players, say Cann and McKinnon, we're at 8.4%. Tah dah!
  12. It’s not. It’s a fact. I can’t seem to locate where I read it. I believe their version of pan out was “moderately (or better) impacting their respective teams’ win or loss outcome.” In 2003, the only players I recognize- Briggs, Witten, Ricky Manning, and Corey Redding
  13. I said 15% of second rounders & 8% of third rounders pan out, so yes, they most likely are garbage. Go look at the other 2003 third rounders. Fun exercise right?
  14. Well no because then they wouldn’t have the draft’s best linebacker and instead they’d likely have a SS or FS that wouldn’t see the field much in 2018
  15. Used and abused at the point of attack? Is every fan base this disgusting? In 15 games last season he had 137 tackles, 14 TFL and 6.5 sacks. Not sure how much more production you’re looking for at 8th overall, but perhaps if the athletic OG was there at 8, we’d all be thrilled about the tiny impact he’s going to have in the NFL. He was absolutely the best player in the Georgia/OU game (and all of the other Georgia games). Every LB gets blocked. That’s what happens. Wasn’t that what Urlacher’s one issue was, getting off blocks? The Bears got maybe the best defensive player in the draft and dopes like Hub Arkush and the millions of moronic Bears fans all over the globe are complaining. Rough crowd. As for trading down, they’re second and third round picks? 15% of second rounders hit and 8% of third rounders pick, yet Pace wasn’t smart to stay at 8 rather than move down 5 spots to get a couple second rounders that will likely be either special teams gunners or on another team (or in another league) in 6 years.
  16. Moncada, Sanchez, Delmonico, Castillo, L Garcia, Palka, Davidson, Anderson, Engel Woof

    2018 catch-all

In the 1970's and 1980's, there were 12 murders, 45 rapes and 100+ burglaries all over the state of California. They had no idea who it was, but a 72 year old former police officer was arrested for 2 of the murders yesterday. I just find it fascinating because there was an ID Discovery series that talked about this (3 episodes, I believe) that aired recently. After I watched all of them, I thought "they'll never find a criminal of this magnitude, unbelievable." A few weeks later, and they have a guy. Here's a link from NBC: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/golden-state-killer-case-ex-cop-arrested-serial-murder-rape-n868936
  18. Seattle is my second favorite city in the US. There's so much to do. One thing I will say- go to a game at Safeco. Great place to see a game. If you're a coffee drinker, the original Starbucks is there, IIRC.

    2018 catch-all

I can't believe the arrest of the potential Golden State Killer hasn't been discussed on this board
  20. Yeah, I agree. In years past I always had some guys I didn't want at all. Aside from McGlinchey, I would love a whole bunch of guys (Ward, Smith, James, Fitzpatrick, Chubb, Barkley, Davenport). Edmunds or Nelson would be fine too.
  21. But he isn’t a bad defender!!!!!!11
  22. The Sun Times asked “who would you rather have for the future, Baez or Moncada?” Guess who’s winning?! Cubs “fans” are the worst/dumbest.
  23. At this rate, Adolfo and Basabe are going to be top 50 overall. Holy schnikies
