QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 07:21 PM) Your strawman routine is getting a little old. I think it's time for some new material Nice at bat, Yoan! Good try buddy. As long as you’re trying your best and having fun, I’m having fun

QUOTE (StrykerSox @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 07:19 PM) Love that Benetti calls a .200 BA a “misnomer” when talking about a guy who strikes out twice in every five plate appearances. Jason is a damn moron. Just wait until it warms up!!!!!!11

Schoenfield links Sox to Machado, Donaldson, Price

QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 07:12 PM) Lol yeah, I could have said some totally extraneous stuff not related to the question, you're right. How else would we have know those were your thoughts? Properly elaborating is hardly extraneous -

For the record, I’d have Arenado higher on my wish list than Machado QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 06:42 PM) Where did I say that? I don't think the Sox sign either of them, or Donaldson for that matter. Your comment was in response to the Harper question, and you only commented on Harper. You could have said “Harper will be too expensive and I think the others will also be” -

QUOTE (daggins @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 05:54 PM) Probably has to do with our owner never dishing out rich contracts, combined with the general invisibility of the White Sox Schoenfield kind of sucks, and generally doesn't know anything about anything, so I wouldn't read much into this. And you don’t think Machado’s going to get a rich contract? -
Rain tomorrow, 5-7" of snow Sat-Sun. Making up 3 games should be fascinating. Sox win tonight 5-4, BTW.

QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 01:20 PM) White Sox legend Moises Sierra still in the league thanks to another familiar face.. MLBRosterMoves @Nationals reinstate catcher Matt Wieters from 10-day DL; select contract of OF Moisés Sierra; place OF Adam Eaton (left ankle bone bruise) on 10-day DL, retro to 4/9; designate catcher Miguel Montero for assignment. Eaton? On the DL? GTFOH

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 09:58 PM) I know you and I have had our Moncada debates over the past couple weeks, but I'm surprised you went with 166. I still am not worried about him but expect him to strike out at least 190 times. Well, if you guys are right and he's going to make strides in the HOT WEATHER, hopefully that means less K's. If he finishes with more than 190, he'd be top 5 in K's in baseball, most likely. That would be borderline embarrassing.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 12, 2018 -> 08:14 AM) I agree that the Meredith situation is very weird. Now your third WR is either Josh Bellamy or Kevin White, neither of whom can be trusted. That seems no different than last year. Now they have to draft a guy early that can be depended on to perform in 2018. Two different teams had enough faith in Meredith's medicals to give him an offer. If the Bears didn't trust his knee, why give him the tag in the first place? I think you're really underestimating the amount of targets that will be coming Burton's way and how often he'll be lining up at WR. -
Moncada finishes second on the team in homers (29) & leads the team in K’s (166) Davidson has a .803 OPS at the deadline and for whatever reason, an AL team offers the Sox a top 100 prospect for a pennant chase. Hahn makes the trade. Is water wet? Jimenez comes up 8/1 as Davidson’s replacement Anderson finishes the year with 21 HR’s and 31 SB’s Sox come to an agreement on an extension with Sanchez By the end of the year, Cease is a top 30 prospect in baseball

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 06:18 PM) I politely disagree. KC was like 60% passing plays last year. Shaheen is behind Sims on the depth chart who is a poor pass catcher. Cohen & Gabriel are both midgets and therefore have limitations. Meredith had a role to play in this offense and could have been retained for $3M total (or half of what we paid Wheaton to catch 3 passes last year). Unless there was something seriously wrong with the medicals this was a really dumb move. Depth is important as we saw year when trotted out one of the worst WR groups in NFL history. We’re going to argue over 10%? I say 50/50, you say 60/40. So what? The starting RB here is better and the back up is better. Let’s call it 55/45. Meredith really didn’t have a place. His lone good year was across from Jeffery. KC typically used 12 personnel which is a set that uses only 2 wideouts. Shaheen isn’t behind Sims on anything. Sims may play more snaps but he won’t even catch 20 passes. He’s there to block. Shaheen, Burton, Gabriel, Robinson, a mid round pick and Cohen (btw, midgets? really? Hill is tiny too. it doesn’t matter) + Howard running should be good enough if Trubisky is who they say he is -
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 11, 2018 -> 05:21 PM) 21 k’s in 53 pa’s. Granted, he got screwed yesterday his first at-bat should have 9 walks/20 k’s), but 20 in 53 is still 38%. Guess we have to shoot for 30-33% rate this year and hope for 27.5-30% in 2019. Weren’t you the conductor of the “Moncada is fine” train? What changed?

Between investing $100 mill on pass catchers this offseason, already having Cohen and Shaheen, still likely being a 50/50 run/pass offense, and assuming Trubisky will be good, Meredith was a luxury not a need. He is probably a 35-40 pass catcher in this offense. They must have been less than impressed with the medicals, too. -

QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 04:41 PM) No, it isn't. If he finishes the year at .220 AVG with a .720 OPS & 200+ K's yet is top 5 in baseball in exit velocity, I'm going to have a hard time being excited about his 2018 year.

QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 03:47 PM) Just as ridiculous as the meathead posting by "some" here eight days into the season But continue... He's struggling and he's striking out a lot isn't meatheaded, it's factual. Meatheaded would be saying, as you apparently perceived, that he sucks. No one said that.

QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 04:07 PM) So... what do you care about? The good WWE storylines? lol. Stories, wrestling, character development are all better on NXT compared to the main roster. I mean, I get it too -- I prefer watching the main product just for historic sakes... watching NXT is like watching the minor leagues instead of the major leagues, but when the minor leagues are putting on a product that is consistently better than the main product in every avenue... you should check it out. NXT Takeover in Chicago this June. I'm looking forward to going there. Good to know you are laughing at him for caring about WWE storylines, less than 24 hours after you typed up MULTIPLE posts about your thoughts on WWE matches. Cute. -
QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 03:19 PM) Correction. Really sucks Saying that he "sucks" sarcastically is pretty ridiculous considering NOBODY said he sucks, just that he's struggling and he's striking out a s*** load.

QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 02:53 PM) So apparently Vince and Lesnar had a near-violent altercation last night after the main event match. Not sure if the rumors are just a plant and a work or if this is legit. I would imagine it being legit since the main event sucked so hard and i'm sure lesnar couldn't be happy about the fans chants nor would Vince. People are speculating that it might have been the elbow shots to Reigns causing the blood. Same situation as Orton was in against Lesnar during SS. We see what HHH does with his match, NXT, and 205 live... some day I hope Vince can wake up to it. It's really not that hard to put on a good show with a good storyline and build wrestlers. The talent is there... I don't follow WWE like I used to, but if you really think HHH has no say on every day WWE storylines, works, etc, then you're nuts. And if Lesnar is such a problem, stop giving him so much f***ing money. Having a world champ who shows up 10x/year is bad for the product anyway. -
Holy s*** there are 400 people at this game

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Apr 9, 2018 -> 12:14 PM) Did not know that. Not big on the 300 level but it would be nice stealing some dugout tix for really cheap. Views are great and the food is wonderful. What's there not to big on?

The end-of-season media session sounded a lot like "if Saad, Keith, Seabrook and Toews play like they did in 2017-2018 in 2018-2019, we're f***ed"
