  1. I feel like I’ve seen Lopez only throw a fastball and slider
  2. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 11:14 AM) Anyone going to have the go-home show of Raw in the background as they watch the W'sox tonight? Im excited to see who Braun's partner will be... although I'm guessing they'll wait until w'mania to determine that. Hearing Rey Mysterio is a candidate... that might be a little awkward tho. I always thought it'd be Elias. CM Punk
  3. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 01:50 PM) They were shutdown in that 2011 choke job. That's what I'll choose to remember them for. Didn't they win the series?
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 04:32 PM) As somebody who never follows spring training, i now can see why we are picked to have a horrible record. Castillo, Anderson Leury, Yolmer and Engel is a very bad final five-some hitting wise. Moncada, Avi, Abreu and Davidson must hit and hit big. Castillo is a good hitter, and Anderson will improve. Sanchez continues to get better. Not sure how that's a "bad 5." Not many teams have great players 1-9.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 08:21 AM) Ohtani had that bad inning, but was pretty impressive the rest of the game. Yeah, after the homer I thought he was doomed. My post was premature. His stuff was really good otherwise. Then again I know about 2 guys in the Oakland lineup. What a sorry franchise that is. Horrible stadium, below average farm system, no good vets to trade to boost their system.
  6. Sox win 6-4. They're down 4-2 in the 7th again and turn it on for a win. Moncada goes 3-4 with a homer.
  7. Since 2013 the Sox have been 12th or 13th in AL attendance. I think this year they're 11th or better. This team will be somewhat exciting, and atleast exciting enough to bring in 25-30k on some weekend games. I know that I already plan on going to 6-7 games over the summer.
  8. QUOTE (oneofthemikes @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 08:24 AM) No deal. I'm not a fan of any transaction between the Sox and Cubs which ends with the Sox taking an L. All jokes aside, I would have to change my underpants if the Cubs traded Contreras for Castillo. That would never happen obviously.
  9. Not the start to his pitching career that Ohtani wanted, I’d imagine
  10. Moncada’s HR was 433 feet. If this is July, it’s 470 easy. That ball was blasted
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 30, 2018 -> 07:52 PM) He has yet to hold a single practice but Gruden seems to be really f***ing up everything down there. Because he released the f***ing punter? Does it really matter?
  12. Engel wears #15? They didn’t retire Beckham’s number?
  13. Not only was 1 run not good enough but it also hinders Giolito for having to sit around, and it’s showing. Damn.
  14. Great start to the inning, and the cherry on the top is Kennedy’s high pitch count already. Kennedy sucks but their pen is even worse.
  15. Xander Bogaerts to start the year: 6-9, 4 doubles, 1 homer
  16. QUOTE (Sox-35th @ Mar 30, 2018 -> 09:32 AM) Schwarber is trash. AAAA player Fixed
  17. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 30, 2018 -> 09:37 AM) He's also 27. If he puts up another low .700s OPS this year, how many years are you going to wait for him? At that point, you're done waiting obviously, but again, if this year isn't going to be a contending one, why not give him one last chance? It can't hurt. If he sucks, so what? But maybe they find something and he can contribute for a few years if not for a long time.
  18. I said it before the year- just let Davidson play. This is going to be a 75-83 win year, and it can’t hurt to give him one last try at this thing. Obviously he isn’t going to be great but if he’s going to hit 240 with 35+ homers a year, he is extremely valuable, whether it be at 3B or DH.
  19. I don’t mind Benetti at all. I love him and Stone. Maybe that’s because Hawk was absolutely terrible to listen to. Benetti is atleast caught up with the times in terms of analytics. Benetti, if I did have one knock, would be that he is likely forcing jokes because he’s bored. On football, he is wonderful. Maybe there’s just too much down time for him in baseball, but I don’t mind the jokes even if they’re corny.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 29, 2018 -> 11:27 AM) I don't really see trade down being possible. Buffalo is ideal but bears aren't well suited to move UP to acquire anyone. Hopping ahead of dolphins basically only QB team behind bears to be worried about. That's at the current draft order though. A team like the Saints, Cardinals, Dolphins, or Chargers could move up as they ponder it, so sure, they might be right now the only team to worry about.
  21. Jimenez is called up on 7/1, because at the time, he's hitting .354 and they won't be able to keep him down.
  22. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Mar 28, 2018 -> 09:46 PM) Barkley. If he's there at 8, I take him. Then, I either try to get a 3rd for Howard or split their carries evenly as they mostly use Cohen out of the slot and in 2-RB sets. This offense can't have enough playmakers, and Barkley is the top playmaker in the draft. If Nelson, Barkley and Chubb are gone, I'd trade down. Maybe Arizona would give their 1st and 2nd or Buffalo would give both 1's if Mayfield falls. At that point they could take a guy like Ward, Fitzpatrick, Landry, Edmunds or Davenport.
