  1. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 6, 2018 -> 07:46 PM) Wow that is a disaster. There has to be more to that story. He must think Beli is resigning or something and that he's taking over the Patriots. Or that Luck’s arm is a noodle
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Feb 6, 2018 -> 01:18 PM) Technically Chip Kelly and Doug Pederson won this superbowl. They run a lot of that Eagles offense (especially for Foles). Kelly's concepts were great, his ego was just too huge and he couldn't deal with the pro's. I think if he was given another shot he might excel. They got McAdoo right. I probably shouldn't say that cause I am not implying that Pederson didn't do a heck of a job cause he and his staff (and the front office) all did an awesome job in Philly. That team came together beautifully. Kelly got another chance after Philadelphia
  3. Brady is 27-9 in the playoffs, with a better than 2:1 TD:INT ratio, has a 91 QB Rating, and has made it to a Super Bowl every other year on average. In the regular season he's 196-55 with a better than 3:1 TD:INT ratio, and almost a 100 QB Rating. Brady sucks, Trubisky will suck. Parkman hates everyone. Who *is* good..?
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Jan 16, 2018 -> 07:05 AM) Josh Allen to Indy in round 1 That could help push Chubb or Fitzpatrick to #8
  5. FWIW I’m not sure any MLB team can have all white hats. I believe it’s a rule. Something about that being a distraction to hitters if it’s all white & it blending in with the pitch. With UA taking over in 2019 I’m betting some uniforms do get changed, ala the way Seattle’s did in the NFL when Nike took ovwr. I could see a re-do for San Diego or Detroit happening
  6. QUOTE (shipps @ Jan 11, 2018 -> 09:25 AM) The only thing that worries me is that there is way too much high praise of every hire the Bears have had so far. It cant all be true can it? It's funny. I was just thinking about that. No matter what assistant coach/coordinator/HC is hired, the praise is always high, for any team. I remember the Trestman/Tucker/Kromer combo. I was PSYCHED for that trio.
  7. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jan 11, 2018 -> 09:04 AM) That's the key. Have to draft a WR in Round 1 or 2. And sign probably two in free agency. They also really need another offensive TE on the roster. IIRC Albert Wilson and De'Anthony Thomas are both UFA's, albeit not very good players, just mediocre-solid.
  8. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Jan 10, 2018 -> 01:32 PM) I'm not sure about taking guards that early in the draft, but I think Quenton Nelson might be worth it. He is really good. There is also a video of him choke slamming a blitzing LSU linebacker, it's pretty crazy. I'd imagine it's what you would want from an O-lineman. That video got a lot of publicity, but it was actually a 235 pound freshman linebacker. Still, Nelson is really f***ing good. If Fitzpatrick, Barkley and Chubb are gone, I want Ridley, Nelson or Roquan Smith. FWIW, Pace typically drafts highly athletic guys in round one and banks on their athleticism paying off on the field and turning into talent. Not sure any of those guys fit that "freak of nature" mentality. Someone who might is Virginia Tech LB Tremaine Edmunds. That dude is a specimen. He does s*** at his size that most human beings cannot.
  9. QUOTE (Wanne @ Jan 9, 2018 -> 09:18 AM) And kudos to Nick Saban for showing America what's truly important and setting a great example for all the young players out there! Has a guy get a flag for throwing a punch at a Georgia player. Player comes to sidelines and gets pissed at one of the coaches and takes a swing at him on national tv....is going beserk and has to be restrained. Aaaaaaaand....is still allowed to go back out on the field (and lucky he didn't get another penalty for cloth-lining a GA player. Kudos Saban you jagoff. Never heard of the ol' clotheslining penalty.
  10. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jan 8, 2018 -> 11:20 PM) He looks small to me. Russell Wilson is also small Anyway can't wait to see what Hurts can do next year when he's reunited with Kiffin
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 29, 2017 -> 03:58 PM) Davante Adams got paid! So much for the bears signing him this off-season. @AdamSchefter More details on Davante Adams' new 4-year deal with the Packers: Deal is worth $58.75 million, including $18 million signing bonus and includes $32 million in the first two years, per source. Landry, Robinson, Lee, Richardson, and Watkins are all good options still
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 19, 2017 -> 09:30 AM) http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2749640...er-be-a-good-qb Time to blow it all up It's almost as if Watson didn't throw 8 picks in 7 games.
  13. Trubisky is going to be good. You can see it. He should have been making these mistakes in September though. Wasting any time with Glennon was stupid
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Dec 12, 2017 -> 11:43 AM) f*** you Rex Grossman IIRC the Bears were up 14-6 AND Vinatieri missed a FG, which never happens in the playoffs, yet from there the “great defense” stopped tackling. I felt like they missed one tackle on every run play. Grossman didn’t play well, but the defense was awful
  15. RT @DanClarkSports: Several offers are on the table for Manny Machado - Cardinals, White Sox, Yankees, Phillies and Giants. #Orioles
  16. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Dec 10, 2017 -> 03:43 PM) There the Bears go winning meaningless games again. They could have had a franchise-altering draft with a trade with someone coming up to get a QB, and they blew that now. Next week is an auto-win vs. Cleveland. Detroit is out of it and Minne may have nothing to play for week 17 so 6-10 or 7-9 is possible, and that would be a disaster. Yeah, the success of young players is a disaster. Picking high over and over has given the Bears nothing. When the Bears lose, you say the QB sucks. When they win, it’s meaningless and stupid. PS; they play DET next week, not CLE. Good talk
  17. Depending on your state of residence, there are tax advantages to you now for putting them into a 529 plan as well as tax advantages for your children in the future. In Indiana, you receive a 20% tax credit on 529 contributions up to $5k in contributions. For example, if you were to contribute $5k, you would receive an additional $1k back during income tax season. In Illinois, I believe you can use contributions as tax deductions. For example, if you make $100k and contribute $5k, you would only be "claiming" to make $95k. The tax advantages for your kids is that when they pull the money out for higher education, it will be tax-free. Furthermore, the government has been changing the law as of late in that the money can be used for a lot more, whereas in the past, it had to be used for school. I believe now it can even go toward an apartment/rent for school and a few other things. Hopefully this was somewhat helpful.
  18. Fox called Santos "Carlos Santos" postgame and then couldn't think of O'Donnell's name so he settled on "the punter." He then said he didn't let SF score because he felt good about blocking a FG from the 7 yard line. You just can't make this s*** up. You probably shouldn't cheer/hope for anyone to get fired, but it will be an exciting day when this staff gets the boot, maybe more joyous than when the Emery/Trestman regime came to an end.
  19. Remember when Loggains said Sims coming back wouldn’t effect Shaheen’s playing time and that Shaheen earned it? good times
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 29, 2017 -> 10:04 AM) Personally, I'd love it. Get that top pick as far as I am concerned. I have a $100 bet on over 4.5 wins this year
  21. Trubisky threw the ball, what, 33 times yesterday, and I’d say 28 of them came in obvious pass situations. Combine his inexperience with the fact that he’s throwing to s***, there is 0% chance of success.
  22. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 26, 2017 -> 09:26 PM) Lol...there is literally no way to fairly evaluate Mitch this season due to the s***ty play-calling and the worst WR group in Bears history. We’ll all just have to wait until next year assuming Pace decides WR is actually a position of importance. Seriously. Dontrelle f***ing Inman is their #1 receiver. If he wasn’t on the team in 2019 none of us would care. He is a #4 on a good day. Go sign Allen Robinson or Davante Adams, Paul Richardson or Marqise Lee, keep Meredith, and use the 2nd rounder on a WR Robinson/Adams Meredith Richardson/Lee Cobbs/Sutton/Washington Bellamy Shaheen/Sims If he still sucks in December 2019 in this scenario, cut bait, and by bait I mean the entire FO
  23. QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Nov 26, 2017 -> 07:12 PM) Nobody's writing off Trubisky already, but what I've seen doesn't look promising. The guy has a bunch of the traits of Cutler on the field. He's a) inaccurate b) has sloppy mechanics/footwork c) supposedly has a rocket arm and played college ball at a non football school in a power 5 conference. Trubisky has to really prove otherwise in order to make me believe in him as a starter in the NFL. I will continue to say it, but you know who the guys who are going to be the great ones are from the moment they take the field. They throw receivers open, make the offensive line look better than it is and make big plays at crunch time. Do they still make mistakes early? Yeah. But the traits are there. I don't see those traits in Trubisky. 2018 is huge for Trubisky and Pace. If Trubisky continues to be below average to bad, Pace is gone. Pace also needs to get new pro scouts because his FA signings suck. And I’m sure you saw those last year in Jared Goff, right? Go away
  24. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 26, 2017 -> 01:11 PM) Just fire Fox and Loggains already. They clearly have mailed it in Exactly right
