2018 MITB show is in Chicago -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 20, 2017 -> 01:20 PM) You know what worries me about Cooter (Lions OC), the stat that they haven't had a 100 yard rusher in 60+ games. How is that even possible? I truly believe that to win in this league, you need to be able to run the football (especially somewhere like Chicago). It isn't like the Lions haven't invested in running backs (they've draft a decent number of them). Hire David Shaw and you don't have this problem

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 19, 2017 -> 07:38 PM) And the 2019 Stadium Series game is Penguins v Flyers, lol. Worst Commish in sports? Well yeah, he is for a lot of reasons, but I struggle to see why this game is such a bad idea? -
QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Nov 18, 2017 -> 08:27 AM) I really don't know what they're waiting for to sign him, unless he isn't 100% yet or they're giving Barth one last go on Sunday. If this is the case, I hope they lose 20-17 and Barth misses two FG's. Santos is a really good K. Sort of got my wish??

#Bears spent the whole game moving the ball successfully with Howard, Cohen and Shaheen. And none of them were on the field for the final drive. There’s just no explanation for that. Hoge

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 16, 2017 -> 11:45 PM) Fantastic. Evidently we brought in Saintos for a workout. He'd be a great signing to replace Barth (even if he is coming off one good game...he still sucks). I really don't know what they're waiting for to sign him, unless he isn't 100% yet or they're giving Barth one last go on Sunday. If this is the case, I hope they lose 20-17 and Barth misses two FG's. Santos is a really good K.

Fox is a moron, but am I the only one who doesn’t have an issue with this? Aren’t here HIPPA laws for a reason?

QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 13, 2017 -> 12:48 PM) two 10 win seasons in 3 years Coach A: 24-7 in first 31 games at UM 2 wins vs OSU or MSU 1 NY6 bowl appearance Coach B: 24-7 in first 31 games at UM 1 win vs OSU or MSU 1 NY6 bowl appearance Coach A is Brady Hoke. Coach B is Jim Harbaugh.

QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Nov 13, 2017 -> 11:10 AM) I think all of this talk about Jim Harbaugh coming here is nuts. He'd have to be high as a kite to leave Michigan to come back to the NFL, especially with the knowledge that if he leaves, he's not getting that job again. Harbaugh flamed out in SF and has done squat at UM. Even if he comes here, he would be out in 3-4 years when he drives Phillips and McCaskey apes***. I can't say I wouldn't be excited though.

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Nov 12, 2017 -> 03:36 PM) Trubisky doesn't have anything to work with but his accuracy has been much worse than I expected so far. See, I actually disagree. To me, he’s either not stepping up, not avoiding the rush and not throwing the ball away enough, and when he stands there and throws with a guy finally in his face, he’s throwing off balance and to a guy who’s covered (like a blanket because he sucks), so it’s a double negative. When he sets his feet or throws on a designed roll out, he’s pretty accurate.

QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 12, 2017 -> 05:12 PM) Who can the Bears hire next year? Can we get some WRs with hands? Jim Bob Cooter, David Shaw or Josh McDaniels Marqise Lee, Allen Robinson, Jarvis Landry or Davante Adams

Tarik Cohen has 8 offensive touches in the last 3 games

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 12, 2017 -> 02:57 PM) They f***ing turtled up because of the weather I don’t think this is the case. They prepared like s*** over the bye, took a billion penalties and it showed.

Martellus Bennett is just like Brandon Marshall- no matter what team signs them despite all of the past baggage, fan bases can't wait to watch them play for their team. When will people learn? And just think, Emery and Trestman thought it would be a good idea to have them both on the same team at once.

QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Oct 30, 2017 -> 09:46 AM) Manning still threw 26 TDs that year. Talk to me when Trubisky a) has a multi-TD game and b) completes more than 50% of his passes, when 62% is the minimum acceptable level for modern NFL QBs. My argument is this: If this guy needs so much time, then maybe you shouldn't have wasted the 2nd overall pick on a guy who isn't going to be able to contribute until 2019. IMO, Deshaun Watson has the "it" factor. Trubisky doesn't. Watson has had a 5 TD game in his 3rd NFL start. (And, IIRC, he had a rushing TD in that game too) My complaint is that Trubisky was a blatant severe overdraft due to position. Watson was the only QB who was a 1st round talent and he probably shouldn't have been taken top 20. Trubisky and Mahomes were 2nd or 3rd rounders. They got overdrafted because of a need at a position. I hate drafting QBs who have only started one season since HS, because they almost always are epic busts. As a matter of fact, I challenge anybody to give me the name of a QB since 1990 who started one season since HS, was drafted in the 1st round and wasn't an epic bust. Then why did one scout say Trubisky was the best QB prospect since Luck?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 29, 2017 -> 05:54 PM) Not to be that guy, it's so early in the careers, but DeShaun Watson isn't making Pace look any smarter. But he has a top 5 receiver and another emerging young receiver. Pace has drafted Jackson, Amos, Howard, Whitehair, Goldman, and Floyd and signed Hicks, Sitton, and Trevathan. If you consider the roster he took over, Pace has done a really good job IMO
-
QUOTE (Jack Parkman @ Oct 29, 2017 -> 03:10 PM) Yep. He doesn't have the "It" factor. We have ourselves another Cutler. Sigh. The great ones, even as rookies, found ways to win games they shouldn't. Guy has played 17 games since high school and these are the takes ALREADY? f*** this city

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Oct 23, 2017 -> 10:35 AM) So I'm not saying any of this means Trubisky will suck, but I keep seeing people say he looks good, blah blah blah. He's looked really really bad. He's a rookie, but you can see why the Bears were trying to be patient. The Bears certainly haven't "let him loose" and our receivers stink, etc, but he's been extremely indecisive with the football and taken a lot of "bad sacks". His receivers haven't helped him with some drops (I would have liked to see Cohen pick him up on that throw on the 1st drive of the game), but I don't even know what to think about our offense (other than the fact that despite tons of guys in the box, Howard is a beast). It looks historically inept. Again, not making any hottake on Trubisky but I certainly haven't seen a QB who has shown any ability to read defenses too well (as he has seemed extremely "tentative" out there). Inexperience is definitely showing. I hope we see some serious progress during the second half of the season. Defense was studly. Not that every beat writer is correct, but Adam Hoge among others said only one of the 4 sacks taken was a bad sack. I also would disagree that he has looked "really really bad." He's looked average. To me, "really really bad" would be like 2-7 with 2 INT's and a fumble lost.
-
Emery left this organization in such bad shape that any progress should be applauded. Pace and his college scouts have been GREAT- Goldman, Floyd, Jackson, Amos. His FA’s haven’t been great but Trevathan and Hicks have been very good. If he can have the same eye offensively in the upcoming draft, watch out

QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 07:34 AM) I've heard multiple media types (I know Bruce Levine was one) suggest that they might need to let Schwarber go for someone like Archer. I really hope nobody bails the Cubs out and gives up a front line starter for him. I think Schwarber would be a really nice AL player, but he's not worth a #1 or #2 starter at this point. If I'm the GM of a team, I'd insist on winning any trade with the Cubs, Dodgers, Yankees, etc. - any of the big money teams that can outspend 80% of the other teams. The Sox did a pretty good job of this with their trades this year. IIRC, Archer is a FA, so unless they're trading Schwarber there for his rights or something, I don't think they have to get rid of Schwarber to obtain Archer.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 11:18 AM) I hope he's half as good as you guys say he is. Any team could have drafted him and signed him TWICE when the Bears waived him. It's likely that he sucks
