  1. If my math is right and it's probably not, the Sox are 0.5 games back of SD for the #2 pick and 7.5 behind PHI for the first.
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 10:33 PM) They are trying to win games. What are the odds of a guy getting hurt tonight? If they're trying to win games, why is Clippard warming up?
  3. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:57 PM) lol at people who hate this deal. frazier = a rental and not even a good one at that, robertson = decent closer not particularly special or dominant with no value to current team, kahnle = one year wonder who was terrible last year. I'm totally fine selling high on a guy who looked like hot garbage last year. Robertson also looked terrible at times last year. For a top 40 prospect. The problem is people bringing up these 5 player packages, some including Torres. Cashman isn't a dumbass. He knows he isn't getting great players back, too.
  4. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:42 PM) No? They were trying to compete. Should have changed it to green to show sarcasm. He's using 2014 and 2015 picks as comparison, but they were trying to compete then. If he can use data that makes no sense, I will as well
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:37 PM) Yes seeing as the White Sox have picked 3 and 8 while trying to win in the past three years Well they did a great job comparing it to the Sox. Didn't they have the 10th and 11st the last two years, while trying to suck?
  6. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:31 PM) Didn't do a great job of it seeing as their draft positions were #6, #2, #4, and #9 during the rebuild phase Finishing as a bottom 6 team three times isn't doing a great job?
  7. QUOTE (gosoxtim8 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:20 PM) no but still you like to wins games even though main goal is tank What in the......?
  8. QUOTE (gosoxtim8 @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:17 PM) so who going our closer now since robertson and kahnle are going to be gone? 1) Maybe Kopech 2) Who f***ing cares?
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:15 PM) Or Collins would be around 12 Probably doesn't help that he can't hit a ball off a boat into the f***ing ocean either but yeah
  10. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 09:10 PM) Don't know how I feel about a Rutherford headliner. It's coolfor a DRob or Frazier trade, but including Kahnle too? Kahnle is the guy you hold until 11:50 on trade deadline night for absolute pillaging. They just traded Robertson, an underwhelming 3B and a reliever who has had 3 good months for a top 40 prospect + more.
  11. Would you guys say the Yankees prospects are: 1 Torres 2 Rutherford 3 Andujar 4 Mateo 5 Sheffield 6 Abreu ???
  12. If Hahn gets Torres, we can't say a negative thing toward him for 6 months. That would be incredible
  13. What the hell do you do if you're the opposition against Betances, Chapman and now these two?
  14. Honestly I'd take just Rutherford back for all 3 (Somewhat kidding)
  15. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Jul 18, 2017 -> 07:38 PM) He's been scuffling as of late and is facing Kershaw. All we really have to go on is Bruce Levine, who knows nothing. So you scratch him late because you *just* realized he's scuffling? I doubt it. He won't be on the White Sox in 24 hours
  16. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 17, 2017 -> 06:20 PM) To put the deal into perspective, a roughly comparable package from the Braves – just based on BA’s rankings — would include outfielder Ronald Acuna (ranked No. 10 overall), pitcher Luiz Gohara (No. 76) and two lesser prospects. http://www.ajc.com/sports/baseball/leadoff...RGCFRO/?src=rss Who has the top farm system now, the Braves or White Sox? I may be biased but I'll say the Sox. The depth is insane, and 36% of the top 11 is unreal
  17. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 10, 2017 -> 02:02 PM) This season is really tough. They could be 2-6 in their first 8 and maybe win 3 total this year unless Trubisky lights it up and the D gets magically better. They have Goldman coming back and added a few veteran DB's. I think they're a top 12 D
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 16, 2017 -> 03:04 PM) If you were Holland, what would be your motivation to not just retire? I know $$ means everything but he might get hurt out there. He's that bad. At the very least, become a specialist who faces one lefty when needed. Surely this post isn't offending anybody. There can't be any Holland fans on this board can there? Nice to see Avi bust out. If we lose, 0-3 since the trade; Cubs 3-0. Not that that matters, but interesting. How is that interesting? The Sox stunk and now stink more, and the Cubs were average and will now likely be good
  19. If first base was about 3 feet closer to home and 2 feet closer to the visiting dugout, all of Anderson's throws would be perfect.
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 15, 2017 -> 08:45 AM) The Nationals, Cubs, Houston, Dodgers, Red Sox, Yankees, Phillies....all called future dynasties at some point. Reality is there are probably no dynasties. I think the point was "theSox have a s*** load of great talent"
  21. I read an article that said Dunning would be 5-7 team's #1 prospect. Also, I read another that said the Yankees and Sox have the 2 best chances of having a dynasty for the next 10 years.
  22. Imagine being a STH, keeping these 2 games because you have a few M's fans for friends or know family will be in town... and then you get to witness Holland and Shields back to back.
  23. BTW, I believe this is a win for both sides. Cubs get a damn good pitcher for 2-3 years, Sox get their best P and hitting prospect.
