Q traded to Cubs/Jimenez, Cease ++ to Sox
soxfan49 replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 11:47 AM) And there's also the looming possibility of them going after Harper Him and Bryant will both want deals in the neighborhood of 35-40m/year. Is that possible? Don't forget extensions for guys like Rizzo, Baez, Happ, Contreras, etc in the future. -
Games you've attended - starting pitchers - good or bad luck
soxfan49 replied to knightni's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I went to a random Mariners/Twins game in 2007 and I saw Felix vs Santana. As for the Sox it's been pretty average. Some good some bad -
De Falco confirmed this and someone- literally no clue who he is- says Q gets dealt tomorrow

QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 08:18 PM) Every player is happy and enjoys where they are until they hit the open market and another team offers more money. If Quintana is still healthy and productive there's nothing to stop the Sox from signing him when he's a free agent after 2020. There might be about $140 million reasons that would stop the Sox from signing him in 2020, if your if's happen.

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 05:20 PM) Now if Engel had bunted, we could have the start of a 9th inning brawl Fixed

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 05:04 PM) Why are none of our guys trying to bunt for a basehit???? Because that would be s***ty

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 02:41 PM) The Nationals. That's basically their whole system. They will regain it when they trade Harper next July to the Yankees for Frazier, Rutherford, Torres, Sanchez, Severino and Mateo \green

QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 01:45 PM) Little nitpick, but his ERA is 4.49. You're looking at his FIP. Anyways, I was being obtuse because I think the information you presented is pretty misleading. Pint has loads of upside, but has struggled badly this season. Much worse struggles than Q, even. Castellini is certainly an intriguing player, comparable maybe to Dunning or Hansen. That's a weak headliner (guys like Pint flame out all the time) and a solid second piece. Murphy is not really worth mentioning. He's like Davidson if he was a bad catcher instead of a bad 3B. Meanwhile, Q has had a down season, but still the #20 pitcher in baseball by fWAR. Nothing is really concerning about his performance except an uptick in walks. He's been basically the same pitcher. He has more value than you think. And again I'm not trying to argue. I hope you're right. I just believe we all may be let down by the return

QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 01:30 PM) I don't understand - if the return is the #2, #3 and #6 prospect, all for that mediocre starter you mentioned, wouldn't the Sox jump at the opportunity to make that trade? After all, he has a mid 4's ERA and a WHIP of 1.3. 1.3! For one, he is not mediocre, but he has been this year. #2, his ERA is mid-4. Yes. Not great. Lastly, yes, "1.3!" That's 42nd in baseball. Not outstanding. Jesus, it's like I'm supposed to assume every Sock can net every team's 3 best prospects.
-
QUOTE (daggins @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 01:07 PM) You know, completely stripped of context like this, it almost looks like a reasonable trade. Why don't teams like the Royals or Orioles get on this deal? Because the Sox won't trade him inside of the ALC and the Orioles stink QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 01:06 PM) Per the recent BA list, the top 4 are Rodgers, Tapia, Pint (77) and McMahon. #77 headiner is lite. http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2017?list=col I was going off of this ^^
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 12:12 PM) That's awful for the Sox. I think it has to be one of Rodgers/Dahl, McMahon, Lambert, and Gomez It's their 2nd, 3rd and 6th best prospects for a SP who's ERA is 4 and WHIP is 1.3.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 12:14 PM) Does someone with access mind summarizing? I do not have access but with 65 games in Kanny, he is hitting 312 with 14 SB's. He strikes out a lot (61) but his OBP is still 374

Anthony Swarzak to Brewers; Sox receive Ryan Cordell
soxfan49 replied to username's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 9, 2017 -> 08:42 AM) This man was the hero last night and recently. He got the Sox out of the big jam. And then pitches another inning. He did the same thing the last game the Sox won, protecting Rodon's W. Robertson and Q are holding their value, but Swarzak's should be soaring. Meanwhile I feel like Kahnle has given up a run or more in his last 3 outings -
Pint, Murphy and Castellani for Q?

QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 09:56 PM) A clean 6th inning would be great. Put up a quality start and call it a night. Yep, a 3.00 ERA in a game against this team in this park should impress the scouts -

O/U Bears wins in Vegas is 4.5. Seems like over is easy money, no? -
Melky may be pretty average overall but he has been really f***ing good with RISP, in the 7th inning on, etc. I think he can net a top 100 prospect back (I hope).
-
QUOTE (Soha @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 07:01 AM) I agree that they have to include Brinson or forget it. But if they do, they probably don't have to add a whole lot more. Hader, Woodruff and Ortiz are all top 100 prospects, too. Woodruff is likely #2, so it'd likely be Brinson, Hader OR Ortiz and then a lottery ticket.

If any of you saw my post in the "celebrity death" thread a few weeks ago, my dad unexpectedly passed away in mid June. I would absolutely love to get the light blue they wore 8 days later. However it seems I have waited too long. Two local malls + Grandstand does not have my size (7 5/8) any longer. I know this sounds weird, but if anyone has the hat in my size (used or new- obviously still good condition if used) I would absolutely love to buy it from you in honor of my dad

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 8, 2017 -> 11:34 AM) Appears to be a strong class at the top but it's highlighted by high school players. High School: Brice Turang SS CA, Jarred Kelenic OF WI, Kumar Rocker RHP GA, Joe Gray OF MS, Tristan Casas 1B FL College: Brady Singer RHP Florida, Seth Beer 1B/LF Clemson, Luken Baker 1B TCU, Konnor Pilkington LHP Miss State http://m.mlb.com/news/article/236744566/ji...-10-projection/ Obviously early but Gray is unbelievable. He'd be my bet to go #1

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 2, 2017 -> 07:40 PM) For "future considerations ". Pure salary dump. Carey Price signs with Montreal for 8 years, $10.5 AAV, tying him with Toews and Kane for highest yearly salary in the league (until McDavid signs his deal). 100% chance that giving a goalie that deal works out poorly Yet in this day and age factoring in a goalie's value, and considering MTL's failure to surround him with offensive talent necessary to win even before this deal, he is worth every cent.
