  1. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 4, 2016 -> 07:11 PM) Rodon's fastball sucks this year. 89mph? Cold day. I expect it to be 92-93 by the 5th
  2. QUOTE (lostfan @ May 3, 2016 -> 10:34 AM) I'm not a Ryan Pace apologist (I learned that lesson the hard way) and I don't give him the benefit of the doubt on anything, but I liked his approach to the draft this year. It's impossible, and completely pointless, to make too much about drafts right after they happen, but they addressed (most of) their needs and got good value for them all with some extra picks. I'd say their big needs going in, in order, were: Pass rush (5 technique, DE, I don't really care where it came from): This is what the Floyd pick was addressing, as well as Bullard in the 3rd Safety (Bush) TE LB (Kwiatkoski) CB (Hall) QB (Raiders had other plans for Cook, but Hoyer is fine) The Bears front 7 is going to be vastly different from last year. The linebacker play was downright horrible last year and the anemic pass rush made the secondary look worse than it was. The roster wasn't ready to run Fangio's defense yet. They got probably twice as many pieces now. Laugh if you want, but Ben Braunecker is that TE fill. He would have been a good pick in the 5th or 6th. He's a mean player who blocks very well and so is a perfect to Miller. The UDFA signing of him + Roy Robertson Harris are like two extra 6th round picks. BTW, I'd much rather have Hoyer now than Cook. Let's say the Bears start 8-4 and Cutler is out for 2 weeks with an injury. I'd much rather see Hoyer out there than a 4th round rookie.
  3. Jim Nill put together an offensive powerhouse, forgetting about the other 2 phases of hockey.
  4. I'd give the Bears a B+ for their's They have gotten a lot younger but more importantly faster and have accumulated depth across the defense. They have 3 capable RB's as well as one of the better WR groups if White's anything like they say he is. With their schedule I don't see why they can't win 9 games, at least. If my math is right, they only have 7 guys on the roster who are 30 or older, and I wouldn't be surprised if that's 5 by July 1 when you consider the potential scenarios of trading or cutting Slauson and Young
  5. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 09:20 PM) Hawk was pissed lol Hawk is a dope, but he has a right this time
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 09:10 PM) Abreu is just awful All around or defensively?
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 07:27 PM) Wow really? Jihad Ward went 44th to Oakland Deion Jones went 52nd to Atlanta
  8. Benetti and Stone might in the top 1/3 of the league in terms of tandems. Now more than ever, I really notice Hawk's want to be both color and pxp. JB > Hawk
  9. Leafs have the #1 pick. Winnipeg #2, Columbus #3. Stamkos, Shaw, Shattenkirk and Matthews is a solid start to the rebuild in Toronto
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 30, 2016 -> 03:17 PM) Draft trivia: Who got drafted first? A) any player from Michigan B) a kicker I love this game. Who got drafted first: an Illinois player or an LSU player?
  11. Whitehair is a great value pick. The problem is the log jam in the interior of the OL
  12. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ Apr 29, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) They're gonna take a QB next, I can sense it. I can at least see the value in that. Hell with that. I'd much rather have Billings, Bell, Thompson or Alexander
  13. Why do the good players always seem to fall to GB? They're going to get Myles Jack, aren't they?
  14. QUOTE (TRU @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 08:17 PM) I cant believe this Tunsil thing, that is crazy.. theres no way he posted that. I am seeing that it was possibly his stepfather trying to sabatoge him When they traded up, I thought they were taking Tunsil
  15. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Apr 28, 2016 -> 08:46 AM) Happy Draft Day, everyone. I still don't get this Stanley over Tunsil talk. Tunsil was clear-cut #1 material for over a year, and then 1-2 weeks before the draft, he falls? I'm not sure I'm buying it. But if it does happen, they're a bunch of idiots. I like Stanley a lot, but Tunsil is as close of a sure-thing as you can find at LT. The dude is really damn good. He doesn't have any holes in his game. Why must NFL teams make it so difficult on themselves? No way Ramsey falls too far. I can't imagine any scenario where he makes it past 7 or 8 - even if those teams don't want him, someone will be trading up. In his game, no, but he does have off the field issues and he does have injury questions
  16. Anaheim f***in sucks. I love watching Kesler, Getzlaf and Perry lose
  17. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Apr 27, 2016 -> 11:05 AM) No way Elliot reaches the Bears. I'm reasonably sure that Dallas or a team trading up to 3 will draft him. Agree. He could go 4, 8, or 10.
  18. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2016 -> 10:26 PM) Yep. Hopefully fill in some of that D and I'd like to see some more young guns. Anyone in particular? I'd like to see Pokka and/or Forsling but I'm not sure either can be a #4
  19. No one is coming to me now, but I think Shaw's rights or Teravainen are dealt for a defenseman. Again no cheap, solid D is coming to my head at the moment, but it has to happen. That Gustafsson turnover was Campoli-like
