  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 09:32 PM) His last game in the NHL. It sounds like he will still play in the KHL next year, just wants to be in Russia full-time. But yeah, excellent career. Not many places in the world worse than Detroit, but Russia is one. I'd stay, but I guess if his entire family is there, god bless him.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 09:33 PM) He very well may be completely clean. With that said, if he was doing this on the Sox, I would be skeptical about where the increase in ability came from. Felt that way about a few Sox guys in the past as well. Like who? QUOTE (MuckFinnesota @ Apr 21, 2016 -> 09:33 PM) I have already accepted that the Cubs will win the World Series. It's just when and am I still in Lakeview...luckily I'll be out of here at the end of July. Can't wait to go to watch the Sox tomorrow. It's nice seeing them competitive in most games they have played this year. I hope they win tomorrow so I can enjoy my birthday game. And...Buehrle's perfect game was more impressive than this. Well yeah, hence the "perfect" part
  3. 2 no hitters in his last 11 starts 20-1 in his last 24 starts He's good
  4. Kiper and McShay are doing a live mock right now: Goff Wentz Tunsil Bosa Jack Ramsey Conklin Buckner Stanley Elliott Bears: Floyd
  5. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 08:11 PM) Meh.. 28 (soon to be 29) for a CB isn't that old. Plus he has less miles on his body than the usual players his age. But his asking price is just scary especially for, all accounts, a zone corner. Norman is a very good player but he's no difference maker. If I'm paying 90+ mil for someone, gimme Mo. IIRC there were only 4 corners in the entire NFL this year over 34 years old. I gusss there's a chance he could be the exception, but the rule would state that he has about 4 years left. I'd definitely do 4/60 though.
  6. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 05:03 PM) I would not trade Chris Sale for a LH hitter at the deadline............................... Did I say that? I said he's really damn good and that I hope they can stay afloat so at the deadline, they can acquire a LH hitter.
  7. Chris Sale is really damn good. I hope they can stay afloat and land a hitter at the deadline, preferably a LH hitter.
  8. Apparently he wants 6/96. That's a lot of money for a guy who *maybe* has 4 years left
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 04:41 PM) Yes I'm sure one being on a s***ty team and the other playing with the Art Ross and likely Hart winner didn't quite tip the scales there.. How the f*** did this even start? While everyone was pissed off about Kane not scoring and Shaw being a turd, I said if this is the end, it was a great ride. People on this board hate pessimists, yet when an optimist shows up, they're the moron. Give it up. Hopefully it's not the end. My season tickets next year are $7500 not including parking. It would suck.
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 02:55 PM) Damn. I hadn't heard that having all these studs but dropping in the loaded west meant they won't even be a playoff team moving forward. That sucks. If only we had Patrick Sharp! If only you would stop using something that makes no sense just to strengthen your argument and self esteem, unless you truly don't understand what I'm getting at, in which case you're just f***ing stupid.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) I will be shocked if the top ten looks anything like that. Especiallly Treadwell top 10. What other parts do you disagree with? I didn't include Jack because of his knee. We know the top 2 will be QB's. SD needs an OT badly. Elliott makes a ton of sense at 4 for Dallas but so does Ramsey. Ramsey would be an easy pick for the Jags. The Ravens need pass rushing help. The 49ers have lost two top 10 OT's over the last few years and Stanley is really good. Cleveland needs a QB. Tampa really needs CB help. I say Treadwell because NYG needs a WR, S and CB. In my scenario they could go Hargreaves but I have TB snatching him up, but there are rumors he may have failed a drug test at the combine. There's no safety worth taking at 10. Treadwell has as sure of hands as we've seen in awhile.
  12. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 02:30 PM) Hey everyone, stop it with the meltdowns. The new playoff positioning is idiotic. The #3 team should not play the #2 team in round 1. It's dumb. However, it sure does feel like a rivalry. This team is dog-tired. We've won 3 Cups in the past 6 years. It's not happening this year. Anyone pining for Brandon Saad and Patrick Sharp needs to be lobotomized. This team plucked a f***ing awesome young stud in Panarin out of nowhere and had no choice but to offload those overpaid clowns. Just cut the bulls*** and stop trying to find a scape goat. It's not happening this year. They'll come back next year rested and ready to f*ck sh*t up. Good LORD are we really talking about Saad and Patrick f*cking Sharp when Anisimov and Panarin combined for 119 points? Sharp and Saad made and combined for 108. And neither of those f*cks plays a capable center I don't give a s*** about face off draws. Winning 44% of draws is s***ty but it sure as f*cking sh*tballs isn't the reason the Hawks are down 3-1 right now to the better St. Louis Blues. For F*CK'S SAKE the f*cking whining in this thread Well yeah, I guess we are because apparently saying this offseason may have finally done them in means "Sharp and Saad are f***ing awesome." No, it just means I was honored to watch a dynasty. And FWIW, Panarin & Anisimov combining for 118 points is because Panarin had about 70% of those. Anisimov is not a #2 center. He's a good 3rd line C and a below average #2 C. Also, the Hawks won about 44% of the draws yesterday. IIRC, one of those PP goals came right off of a lost faceoff. Reason why they're down 3-1? Well no, I don't think so either
  13. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 02:01 PM) You literally answered your question yourself. He was the first legit 2nd line center we've had and he centered a line of the ROY and the Hart trophy winner which was the best season kane has ever had. Its not a coincidence. Oduya is crap, Saad is awesome (but too expensive) and Sharp is losing value by the day. The Hawks had to make those moves and they worked out extremely well. They put together one of the most dangerous lines in hockey. Yeah, yet he found a way to be extremely unproductive. He should have accidently ran into at least 8 more goals and at least 15 more assists. He can't win draws. Stop it
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 12:57 PM) Wow. I seriously cannot believe THIS year's draft allowed the top two teams to get such sweet packages. This helps the Bears, especially if Cleveland takes Lynch at #8. Goff Wentz Tunsil Elliott Ramsey Bosa Stanley Lynch Hargreaves Treadwell If you sub Bosa for Buckner, the Bears are in prime position to land Buckner or Bosa. Hell, maybe they even then trade back to 15 and pick up another 3rd and 6th and still perhaps get WJ3, Decker, Lawson, Dodd, etc.
  15. Eagles just traded their 1st, 3rd and 4th rounders this year, 1st rounder next year, 2nd rounder in 2018 for the Browns' 1st rounder this year and 4th rounder next year
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 09:27 AM) I disagree. But if you think last years whipping boys are all of a sudden the missing pieces then more power to you. You look at Anisimov's year and tell me what part was good. He went several games at times while doing nothing. He played on a line with the ROY who surpassed 70 points and the MVP who surpassed 100 points yet he ended with an awful 42 points. He also is terrible at the dot. He's nothing more than a 3rd line center who shouldn't be making even close to what he is annually. Again, I'm not saying that those 3 guys would be the difference in the series. I am saying, however, that if this past offseason is what we'll look back on and say that finally did it- after many offseasons of unloading guys like Ladd, Brouwer, Campbell, Leddy, Byfuglien, etc- then I wouldn't be upset because I would be thrilled with the 6 years I witnessed. While everyone else was very upset with the outcome and the realization that this series is likely going to go the Blues' way, I was more thinking optimistically about the guys I was able to watch win game after game, championship after championship. But yes, Saad, Sharp and Oduya are all superior players to Anisimov. Anisimov, however, is probably more valuable than those two forwards because he plays a position that Chicago has been notoriously lacking at throughout the last 10 years despite those 3 Cups. Knowing what we know now, however, I would gladly trade Anisimov for Oduya.
  17. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 08:02 AM) I'd rather have Anisimov and Panarin now and moving forward than Saad and Sharp. Anisimov's not very good and the 3 you mentioned are all better hockey players. It just so happens Anisimov's a center so his value is a bit higher.
  18. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Apr 20, 2016 -> 12:05 AM) That's actually the 3rd different video you can find of him saying "f***ing f*****". Not that I really care much, but the Hawks or the NHL might. Or maybe Panik to the 3rd line then Desjardins on the 4th, seeing as if how "Shaw's getting suspended" rumors are beginning to pick up steam Also, I meant "play Bickell." IIRC, he's already with the team.
  19. His parents' license plate was "HR 4 JOE" There may have been a number at the end, IIRC.
  20. Bring up Bickell Kane Toews Bickell Panarin Teuvo Hossa Ladd Anisimov Shaw Panik Kruger Weise It can't hurt.
  21. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 11:07 PM) Oduya has nothing to do with getting stoned offensively and giving up PP goals. Zip. No, but Saad and Sharp would have helped offensively and Oduya did kill penalties. I'm not saying those 3 were main cogs. My point is that if this past offseason symbolizes the end, it was a great run. Finding Oduya's replacement along with better depth will be tough with Panarin's extension and a lack of draft picks. Trading a solid, cheap, young Danault for the 2 idiots they got in return was a mistake too.
  22. If the trading of Oduya, Sharp and Saad was the nail in this coffin, then god f***ing damnit it was a great run and I enjoyed the hell out of it
  23. That's a penalty Ladd cannot take, Crawford has to make that save but Tarasenko is a f***ing problem.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 09:32 PM) It doesn't help that Elliott is absolutely on fire either. Need to get more bodies to the net and make him uncomfortable. This reminds me of the Arizona (then Phoenix) series a few years ago. Smith isn't a great goalie but he was great then. That went 3-1 back to Phoenix, Toews got an OT winner and then the Yotes won it in Chicago. This has been tough to watch
  25. QUOTE (Tony @ Apr 19, 2016 -> 09:08 PM) Good lord, Tarasenko needs ZERO room to make something happen. Paging 88, paging 88... Paging 19 Paging 16 Paging 22 Paging 72 Paging 81 Paging 86 I could go on all day. He's not their only good player. Someone else could score if they'd like, too.
