QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 07:30 PM) Terrible. Total regression after a stellar 15-20 games. He was very noticeable in the offensive end, and hasn't been a factor since. Q tried to get him going with him sitting in the press box for a few games, but nothing has changed. Also, I feel like I haven't heard Weise's name once the last 3 or so games. Doesn't seem like he's Q's favorite. I think he needs to stick Desjardins on the 4th line and permanently (for about 8 games) stick Weise on the 3rd

No one on here was a bigger Gustafsson fan in January than myself (and maybe Tony ) but he has been f***ing awful

QUOTE (shipps @ Mar 14, 2016 -> 05:15 PM) I have to say I am enjoying this whole FA period and leading up to the draft as far as the Bears are concerned. They may be pretty mediocre next season but I knew coming into it after they started this rebuild that it would be times like this that I should look forward to. The speculation, the FA additions, the trades (hopefully), and the drafts. There are a lot of moving parts right now and it is really interesting as a fan sitting back a watching it unfold. You get an idea of what coach Fox and Pace are thinking as the overall picture starts to get clearer and clearer. I'd be pretty disappointed if this team was mediocre next year. Good linebackers, good rush linebackers, a QB, two young RB's who run hard, White will be back. Also, check their opponents. They will be unlucky to win less than 10 games

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 09:58 PM) It's Rosemont just fyi. Sits about 18k. It's because all-state is one of the greatest if not the greatest wrestling venue in the states. Vince is loyal to that and won't book the UC or anywhere else in the area. They've got a relationship expanding over 30 years. My bad. Yes I know it's Allstate but he said Sears so I thought it got renamed. WM22 attendance was just over 17k, so still, the UC would hold about 5k more. Regardless, Vince does as he pleases. It was out of curiosity anyways -

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 07:39 PM) I'm guessing cuz Sears Centre is a small facility for a big one like the Rumble. Does WWE have a contract with Sears where perhaps Sears requested that they cannot do any events at United Center? That holds about 7,000 more and I know 10+ years ago they had some there. Every NBA/NHL arena holds these so it can't be anything with sight lines -
You almost have to put their top 3 with the other 3 on pairings. Hjalmarsson with Keith is as good as it gets but TVR and Gustafsson have been pathetic & we all know Ehrhoff is only a 6.

Anyone know a real reason why the only ppv Chicago ever gets now is Payback? -
QUOTE (scs787 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 08:19 PM) Porter was sneaky good last year IMO, when you look at the contracts other CBs are getting, I would say he got a fair deal. Massie I'm unsure of as far as his monetary value goes. He seems to have been an up and down player throughout his career. Hopefully teaming up with Long, who he trains with in the off-season, will push him to be more up than down. Porter was good for about 11-12 games. He's already 30 and often injured. QB's had a 108 QB rating when throwing at him. They could have done better especially for that much money
-
QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) I mean...when every contract that's being signed is way too much, that's kind of just the market then. Not every contract. Forte's isn't bad. Gipson & Trevathan's are fair. I could add a few more
-
Way too much for Porter and Massie. Love the Trevathan signing though

Kane's on the new cover of SI and inside, there's a big piece on him. In it, he tells SI he has stopped drinking. Wow

QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 04:54 PM) So you jumped from a 4th line center in Kruger getting 3 million a season to the league MVP having to be moved because of it? For real? You realize how insane that sounds?Your basically implying Bowman just chose Kruger over Kane. No, I'm not implying that. Don't exaggerate just to help prove your side of the argument. I'm implying that paying a 4th line C that much money means the end of one of the core guys. That's all 1. While no one knows what the cap will be next year, or the following few, the front office has a better idea of it than any of us do. Where there's smoke, there's fire, and multiple reports say the cap is going down. 2. Shaw is almost 100% gone after this year, I will say with this Kruger deal you can safely draw that conclusion. I said that in my original post. 3. With one year left on the Bickell deal, I do think he can be moved on draft day. You add a mid-level draft pick to the trade for a team looking to get to the cap floor and I think they can get out from under that deal. Nobody wants Bickell. Even if they deal him, they probably have to still eat half of his deal. 4. Where Stan is going to have to really earn his contract is on the Panarin extension. You have to pray Panarin is very comfortable here and understands the chemistry he has with Kane and Anisimov and they he can take a team friendly bridge deal that will still make him a UFA at around age 28. I believe I read Panarin's been all over the world essentially since he was 10 playing hockey, so unless he likes another city more or is the stereotypical Russian and wants loads of money, he will stay. Hopefully it's a decent deal because I'm not paying him more than 5.5 for just one good year.

QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 04:30 PM) I'm sorry? One of those 4 will have to go, and I'm not entirely sure anyone wants Hossa, which leaves the other 3. I don't believe Bowman's thrilled with Kane's continuous off ice issues. Seabrook likely wouldn't be the one with his new huge extension. That leaves Hjalmarsson. Toews is untouchable and Anisimov's situation is similar to Seabrook's. Panarin's about to get 4-5/year too, as Bowman has already said his extension is his #1 priority in the offseason. Oh, and the cap is rumored to drop by around 4 million Any ideas from you guys?

QUOTE (Tony @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) 9.25 over 3 years. It's a tad high for me, especially him missing most of the season. Aside from that, he's a 4th line player who only kills penalties. I think this definitely means goodbye to Shaw and maybe even Kane, Seabrook, Hjalmarsson or Hossa

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 01:01 PM) The Jags arent in a position to get fair market deals at the moment, players arent lining up to play for them unless they open the wallet. Their defense could be pretty good next year with Beasley finally playing Beasley? You mean Fowler?

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 5, 2016 -> 08:03 PM) Average to bad also describes every single QB who ever played for him the NFL. He also had a load of personnel say during his time in Chicago. In fact prior to being hired in Tampa, he was on ESPN with Trey Wingo and said that if he had to do it all over again, he'd put more time into the QB position and the evaluating that goes with it. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 5, 2016 -> 04:48 PM) So,was,Harbaugh's. His DL coach became his replacement. He must be awful. All I know is Illinois can't be all that attractive of a job for most established coaches,. If they get a guy who went to a Super Bowl with Rex Grossman as his QB, they did pretty well. I am no fan of Illinois football, but to me, assuming he isn't just using this as a stepping stone, it would be a great hire. What are you talking about? I said Lovie isn't a good coach. SoxPride said he just needs a good OC. Well, he had a good one last season in Tampa and his record was still bad. He was average to bad in the NFL. Yeah, anyone would be an upgrade over Cubit. -

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 5, 2016 -> 03:20 PM) Wow. Jeremy Werner reporting that a name to watch is Lovie Smith. I'd actually love that move. He's a good football coach, just needs a good OC. He is actually a horrendous football coach. His OC last season is now a HC and the Bucs were still awful -
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Mar 3, 2016 -> 06:07 PM) Meh, the best "defense" is having Corey Crawford bail you out. Seabrook is particularly disappointing considering he doesn't even play opponents' top players anymore. Could that be because Keith and Hjalmarsson are just better? Just because you're not as good as those two doesn't make you s***
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 2, 2016 -> 09:38 PM) Or the league's 2nd best goalie this season has been saving the defense's ass? Crawford's been good, but no goalie can save a team with 2 good defensemen and 4 medicore ones. Seabrook has been good. Not great, just good
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 2, 2016 -> 08:49 PM) I hope this is the power play that shows up for the playoffs. I'd rather have a better PK than PO. Statistically speaking, teams with an average to poor PP can win a cup. Ideally they have both but IIRC the Hawks have had a top 7 PP all season long QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 2, 2016 -> 07:19 PM) Best offensive season? Sure. If he wants to keep this up and score two goals every playoff series, I will happily overlook his defensive struggles. Disagree. If Seabrook was struggling, they'd have only 2 defensemen, and I doubt a team with 2 defensemen would have 83 points. Keith, Seabrook and Hjalmarsson have been fine this year. There's no way the Hawks would be this good so far if only Keith and Hjalmarsson were playing well.
