  1. Anybody here watch Law and Order SVU every Wednesday? They previewed next week's episode, and while I'm not 100% sure, it seems like it might be based off of Kane's summer. Of course they use "TV celeb" instead of "hockey player" but just by the 30 second preview it seemed that way. I can't confirm, but we'll see next week.
  2. He also mentioned Ladd, Eriksson and Boedker as options. I should add that when they reviewed his comments at intermission, McKenzie this time added that Staal would be the least likely. The one that keeps popping up is Boedker
  3. Bob McKenzie was just on NBCSN and said that Bowman will have a package prepared to offer Carolina for Eric Staal as soon as the Canes are officially out of the race. Sounds fun, but Staal isn't a great player anymore so I hope it's not Teravainen going back. I'd trade Shaw and a 1st though, especially since Hartman is Shaw II
  4. QUOTE (LDF @ Feb 16, 2016 -> 05:28 AM) and that is a great point, but it is against Tor.... just like anything, fans, esp me, will never be satisfied. but i guess that comes with being a fan and wanting the best all the time. unrealistic, yeah, but it is what it is. btw, as much as there has been a lot of chatter of players, org wanting to move, i still maintain, no - one will be willing to really help the hawks. bowman is really going to have his hands full. peace. The single game yesterday against Toronto had literally nothing to do with Tony's post
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 13, 2016 -> 10:47 PM) Happens every year after a longer road trip. They get home and set in cruise control. It happens, they have earned it, but when I pick tickets, I try to remember to avoid these periods of the year Could be worse, they could be the Wild, 8 in a row and their coach is gone Crazy to think how highly thought of the Wild once were yet they only got to a game 6 one time in 3 attempts against the Hawks in the playoffs. Suter, Brodin, Vanek, and Parise is a nice group but it just goes to show how thankful we should be to watch the Hawks consistently win Cups. It doesn't help Minnesota either that Parise and Suter are both past 30 years old and Dubnyk isn't the guy he was last year.

  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 9, 2016 -> 10:38 PM) With a bow?????? I don't like including Shaw. Ladd is a better player, no question. But I think hockey is different than almost any other sport where consistency, comfort level and locker room dynamic is important. A lot of core has been flipped and flopped the last few years, I'd like to add to it, not subtract if possible. If Shaw is the only way to get it done, I'd be hard pressed to say no, but I'd like keep Shaw around. I think Shaw leaves after this year anyway, as would Ladd. They will have to pay Panarin and Bowman has already said that's a big priority. Shaw probably gets $4m/year on the open market and the Hawks won't be paying him that. If Winnipeg wants Shaw and a 1st, do it. I'd much rather package him, however, for a defenseman.
  8. In a matter of 3 years, 3 of my all time favorites have either quit, retired or been phased out of the company: Punk, Bryan and Orton. It's a shame. Between that and the guy who runs the thing being champ, I'm struggling to find reasons to continue to watch.
  9. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 6, 2016 -> 09:50 PM) He's a top five GM in the NHL, but he couldn't stop Corey Crawford tonight. No, but he could have found a few defensemen and goalies. Sometimes those are important Also, two months ago you said he was the best. Now, he's top 5. By April he will be top 10. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Feb 7, 2016 -> 08:26 AM) Dallas is a one sport town, really. Football day and night. And even then, a lot of Cowboys games are swarming with opposing teams' fans
  10. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 28, 2016 -> 02:14 PM) Sounds like Miller and Jihad Ward from Illinois are two of the guys who have made themselves the most money so far this week. Darian Thompson has been tearing it up too
  11. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 26, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Bears taking a close look at QB Carson Wentz. Measured out at 6'5 233 pounds and 10 inch hands Are they?
  12. That cross ice pass from Kane to Panarin is as good as you'll ever see
  13. I hate that the best player on my favorite hockey team is portrayed to be such a f***ing tool. I also wish that one of 2 things would happen: 1. these stories would stop (if they're lying) or 2. more people would come out (assuming they're not lying) so this jack*** could just go to prison.
  14. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 04:22 PM) What team are you talking about? Some guy on twitter's tweet was posted here that the Sox will sign Cespedes. It was around page 280. I want to say his last name is Bauer. He's a nobody on twitter but says he's an expert
  15. What's that "source's" name who said they would sign him? Bauer? I went back to page 250 and I can't find it
  16. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 01:02 PM) Shaw is not a real scoring threat. Ideally, you want some combination of Shaw/Teuvo as your first line winger in Saad's old position. I know that much, but you can't deny that he's been showing far more offensive ability than any other winger has this year on that line. I don't believe he sticks for the whole year, but someone else has to be better, preferrably Teuvo.
  17. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 09:50 AM) i am surprise at the trade and Garbutt did his job. he brought his lunch box to the ice ..... but as someone asked of savings. i can see the hawks trading him if it meant the player coming is a fa next yr. i see this as moving pieces for the bigger picture. resigning Panarin and the salary he would want...... that is the priority . Someday people will stop with this. Unless the player is similar to Shaw who can give you some offense, these guys who hit people and only hit people are useless in today's NHL. The Canucks in the past and the Blues & Ducks recently have tried to sign and trade for guys who can bully the Hawks and other teams and it just doesn't work. Garbutt is horrible, and to think he was a 1st line player earlier this season disgusts me. As someone else here said, Garbutt is easily replaceable Sekac does have NHL experience, too. He played in 50 games for the Habs last year. I can't find a spot for him on the roster now unless they do away with Panik after oversleeping, but he will get some ice time here QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 07:53 AM) Turning Saad into Anisimov is Bowman's magnum opus this season. The fact is, the top line is hurting offensively, but the second line is just orders of magnitudes better with Kane having a real center. As far as Panarin goes, maybe GMs will finally get over the KHL threat. I disagree on Toews' line. Toews and Shaw have been great offensively lately. Toews has 6 points in his last 5 and Shaw has 3 assists in his last 5

  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 17, 2016 -> 02:46 PM) f*** that talentless plug. +2
  20. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jan 17, 2016 -> 02:01 PM) Bad start to the second half for the Panthers. If Wilson didn't miss a ridiculously easy throw this game is 31-14 with a ton of time left. And it is anyway
  21. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 17, 2016 -> 06:09 AM) i will say this, not as a fan of the blackhawks, but in looking at the talent and of course the coach. they will not get beaten down, they will do well. It was sarcasm, man. You asked, did you not? You said you were lost. A day later, you have an answer? Of course the Hawks are good enough to repeat. They have the 2nd most points in the whole NHL. They have the FO, players and coaches.
