  1. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 17, 2016 -> 09:53 AM) If youre going to go to a Florida school, it has to be to Gainesville. I havent been to Doak Campbell but I have not heard one person tell me it compares to Ben Hill as far as the game experience. Tailgating might be a toss up. Plus odds are you'll be seeing a better game in Gainesville. Plus maybe you get lucky and the schedules align and you can make it a weekend. Gators on the Saturday and the Bears at Bucs on the following day. If youre a Bears fan that is(I'm assuming given the site). But if I was going to a game without a rooting interest, LSU would be on the top of my list by a mile. Especially a night game. Ole Miss has a great rep and apparently the before/after game festivities are fun with a lot of talent to look at. I have family about an hour south of Gainesville. At times we do Bears games with a college game. I'd love for that to work out. My brother has seen 2 games at FSU. He loved the atmosphere but not so much the tailgaiting, as you mentioned.
  2. QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:49 PM) So, one of the rules of QB play is that you never throw across your body to the opposite side of the field, right? Isn't that what analysts say every time a QB throws an INT on a play like Palmer to Fitzgerald in OT? Oh, it was successful? Great play then! I always laugh at the inconsistency of the criticism by analysts. Successful result = good play. Unsuccessful result = bad play. Great ending. I'm a Bears fan. Respect/don't hate the Packers. I find it really hard to root against Rodgers, but I'm glad the Packers lost. From the first word to the last, I 100% agree. Rodgers might be my favorite NFL player and I love the Bears
  3. QUOTE (LDF @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:22 PM) the hawks and their FO, what can Stan do.... i sure would like to pull out another key trade to help the hawks get into the SC game.... however i look at this team and yeah the team has some holes, but that is for us, the fans to see these little imperfections, but as a team, can they maintain as is and do well in the coming playoff???? i have no answer, i am lost here. No. They've won 10 straight & are tops in the west now but wait until the playoffs. They'll be beaten down
  4. On that note there are tons of great early season games this year. Clemson/Auburn, Bama/USC, Ohio St/Oklahoma, Ole Miss/FSU, UCLA/A&M, etc
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 06:43 PM) OSU vs PSU will most certainly be a night game white out. Possibly, but Penn St plays Temple, Pittsburgh and Michigan before. They could already have 3 losses by that game
  6. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 10:26 AM) You missed my point. Go to a SEC game and tailgate, that's the only correct answer. Ole Miss would probably be #1 out of those from everything I have heard, I've never been. I gotcha. I thought you were making fun of my options QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 06:35 AM) Definitely go to the shoe. It's incredible. I can send you tips and such. If you want to hear the loudest stadium ever, go to PSU for a night game/whiteout. You'll never hear anything as loud. I'm also a huge fan of Wisconsin and Iowa in the big ten. Iowa knows how to party and so does Madison. Great info. One year, I'll combine it with a Hawks/Jackets game if they play on a Friday or Sunday. My issue with PSU now is that the times for these games aren't released until a week or 2 prior now. I'd hate to book everything only for the Lions to be horrendous and the game have a less than normal atmosphere. I do want to hit Madison or Iowa. Both seem awesome QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 09:34 AM) There's seriously only 1 answer there and it's Ole Miss. Have you been? Regardless that's what I've heard. My brother's co-worker saw a game there and he had nothing but great things to say. September 17 against Alabama would be awesome.I'd like to fly Southwest; I have enough points where my flight would be comp'd. While they stopped flying to Jackson, Memphis is about an hour from Oxford
  7. Perron fits in with the Ducks because he's one of those guys who hits a lot and sucks at hockey QUOTE (Tony @ Jan 16, 2016 -> 01:14 PM) Stan is gearing up for another move I think. It's not a ton of money, but the Kruger/LTIR situation is similar to last year, which allowed the Hawks to get Vermette on the books. I could see them going after Versteeg again (who's had a damn good year) or Parenteau (as I brought up the other day), but it only saves about $900,000.
  8. Dallas is down 2-0 midway through 1 and Minnesota was shut out at home to the Jets. Here Come The Hawks.
  9. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 08:04 PM) Blackouts suck. I don't get NHL network either. Rough night to not get the game. Kane's putting on a show (another one, anyway).
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 01:54 PM) SEC! SEC! SEC! Hey! I have PSU and OSU in there. I was going to consider Oregon and Florida St as well, but Oregon doesn't have any great home games on paper and Florida St's schedule is still coming along, aside from early September vs Ole Miss (but that's in Orlando) and late November against Florida QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 02:03 PM) My friend had a bachelor party down to Auburn that I went on. Reddit thread for which school to go to: Visit My Website Thread on the experience: Visit My Website Very helpful. Thanks. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 15, 2016 -> 01:15 PM) Only ones I've been to are ND, MSU, Purdue and NW. I don't know if you count UCLA/Rose Bowl as a college stadium, but that would be #1 on my list. I would go to the Rose Bowl game. I wouldn't go to a UCLA home game at the Rose Bowl. Unless they're a top 10 team and they're hosting USC or Oregon, UCLA home games aren't exactly a great atmosphere.
  11. I want to go to a traditional college stadium next year. I was thinking LSU, Penn St, Ohio St, Alabama, Auburn, or Ole Miss. What are the best ones you all have been to? Which do you recommend? Note: I've already done USC, Notre Dame, Clemson, Tennessee and Michigan.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 09:10 PM) At this rate, Q is gonna pass Bowman in 5 years, not 10. Tomorrow night already feels like such a trap game though. Especially since Darling will be in net
  13. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 02:45 PM) Anisimov is playing tonight so Tuevo will be on the 3rd line with Danault and Desjardins. That's my point. Desjardins has no business on a 3rd line
  14. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) That's why China is great lol. I have about 6-7 sweaters for under 200 bucks. If you're talking about one under $200, fine, because the replicas are around $180. However, no offense, but if you're referring to the ones that have Indian head's the size of my fist, they look completely stupid.
  15. With a 3rd line of Danault, Manshinter and Desjardins you have to wonder if Bowman takes a shot somewhere at a solid 3rd line wing. PA Parenteau has been good this year for Toronto- 11 goals, 10 assists- and is a UFA at year's end.
  16. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 14, 2016 -> 08:27 AM) This came in the mail today. Looks pretty great. I'm usually not impressed with these outdoor game jerseys (excluding the original 2009 Winter Classic), but I like this one. Really cool. I was going to buy a white Teuvo authentic but I have some hesitation to fork over $350. I do appreciate you buying the real stuff. The counterfeit market put a sports store I used to manage out of business
  17. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 09:12 PM) Absolutely devastating news. Props to Brad Stevens for being there for Smith's family and props to the Boston Celtics for letting Stevens miss the game he was scheduled to coach. His wife was a good (or bad) follow on twitter throughout. About a week ago she said to keep praying and that's when it hit me. Today she tweeted that he passed away in her arms this morning. Poor guy. Poor her. Ugh
  18. Andrew Smith, former Butler C of 4-5 years ago, passed away today of cancer at age 25. Sad
  19. The Rams need to call Saban. He's got a solid team. Get a QB and you're off and flying in LA
  20. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 12, 2016 -> 02:32 PM) Funniest thing I've ever heard a student section do. This was at MSU hockey games: Students (at approx. 1:05 left in a period): Hey, Jerry, how much time? PA Announcer (presumably named Jerry): One minute, one minute remaining in the period Students: Thank you. Supposedly some people do the same at the UC for Gene Honda during Hawks games. I've heard it once but when it happened a few people clapped for it.
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 07:42 PM) I am so underwhelmed by Dowell Loggains being promoted to offensive coordinator. Who did you want?
  22. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jan 11, 2016 -> 11:24 PM) Every single class Saban has signed has won a natty. That's incredible. And to think the Browns once had him and Belichick
  23. QUOTE (Tony @ Jan 10, 2016 -> 06:25 PM) I tried to stick to players that actually played that position(the Buff thing is a little bit of a stretch since he mostly played wing for the Hawks, but whatever). I thought about Teuvo, but people forget how solid of a player Versteeg was during his 1st run with the Hawks. And again in this scenario, these are all players playing at their peak. Bolland for example, is shot. Even with that said, this team playing together now would CRUSH. I think Ladd is the better player over Anisimov, although I agree it'd be tough to split that line up. Maybe put Ladd at 3C and Vermette at 4C
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 10, 2016 -> 04:03 PM) Varlamov is back tonight. They beat him in Colorado but he has been better at the UC. Thank god this narrative can die now
