  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 08:24 PM) But you didn't post anything so I can't comment of your thoughts. That was Russell btw trying to make the tag and all he had to do was put his glove down in front of second and Avi slides right into it since as a 2nd basman getting a throw from a catcher you can straddle the base That was like how Alexei does it, afraid to be spiked put the glove down for a split second hope you hit something and bring it up to show the ump. Completely different angle when ball is coming to a catcher from an OF'er. No, it was Castro.
  2. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 08:12 PM) 1). Walking Fowler to get to Schwarber, then not k'ing him with offspeed stuff 2). Flowers on the tag play. 3). Eaton baserunning 4). Eaton calling off Melky on a ball he couldn't see 5). Cabrera overthrow 6). Flowers not stopping it 7). Quintana not backing up home Just in one inning. Funniest part of inning was Soler getting high fives for the RBI when he had made a baserunning blunder of his own. Probably because he realizes how much worse it could be if he was playing for the Sox. Instead, for the next 5 years he's going to make the playoffs annually & will play in front of 38,000+ each night.
  3. Has a team ever finished with the #1 pick 2 straight years? The Bucs look f***ing bad
  4. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 08:06 PM) Ahh yea its all so simple. It was bang bang ,Flowers is making sure he catches the ball. He cannot see where the runners lead foot is going since he cant see 2 things at once. Just turning towards the runner from where he catches it gives the runner another 5 feet You're making something out of nothing and and when people argue Tyler's strength is pitch framing I argue against it . So it's not like I have any love for Flowers. Watched that play completely objectively without regard to the fact it was the lead run for the other team or that it was Flowers. Can you say that ? Yes because when Castro missed the tag on Avi's steal earlier, I said to myself "how the hell can you miss a tag" despite the fact that it benefitted my dog in the fight
  5. Good try Adam. It all happens in a split second. You did your best. You fell on the basepaths and now you fall in the outfield but it's fine because you're trying hard.
  6. QUOTE (almagest @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 08:00 PM) Man are we playing stupid right now. Don't say "we." We're just fans watching them play horses*** baseball. If I truly was in that "we," I'd be ashamed.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 07:59 PM) #2 hitters have to figure out a way to move that runner over... Well Hawks says there's no weaknesses in his game so
  8. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 07:57 PM) DO NOT BUNT! Yeah just take strike 3 right there instead
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 07:57 PM) I don't see any way that's Flowers fault. If you want to blame something blame the rules that force the catcher to catch the ball off the plate ( since he can't block it any more) then turn and swipe as fast as you can blindly swiping and hoping to get a runner who can pick and choose how and where to slide. Oh please. He was turning toward Russell as Russell began his slide.
  10. If Ventura had any sense he'd make Saladino bunt here
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 07:50 PM) No challenge? Seriously? It looked like he might have gotten the shin. No, he was safe because Flowers sucks
  12. Remember when everyone wanted Pierzynski gone because Flowers was better defensively? Good times... f***ing guy can't even tag a guy.
  13. QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 07:13 PM) The Bears going 3-13 could be fantastic. Christian Hackenberg is a talented QB and would look great in blue and orange. Maybe Cutler has a good enough year and they can get a top end OT- Conklin, Tunsil, Stanley- and get rid of that overpaid bum Bushrod.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 11:33 AM) Still pretty worried that Kyle Fuller sucks.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 07:48 PM) This can't be a serious post, right? If you were accused of rape, would your wife/girlfriend come to your birthday party tomorrow? My point was that he was accused of rape 2-3 days prior to his day with the Cup. That many days later, he has his day yet his girlfriend and her brother show up to Kane's house?
  16. I heard today that Kane's girlfriend's brother tweeted a picture from Kane's day with the Cup yesterday or the day prior & he was with Kane and the Cup. Doesn't it seem odd that Kane "raped" someone and yet his girlfriend as well as his brother showed up to his day with it?
  17. New details http://www.buffalonews.com/?stopMobileRedirect=1
  18. FWIW, Kane does (did?) have a girlfriend. He admitted so on the ice after they won and he admitted it again on Sportstalk Live when he got interviewed after the opening ceremonies of the convention, saying he was going to go on a vacation with his girlfriend to get away for a bit.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 1, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) Nice to see the Danks support! I like it. Soon, someday you all will be joining me on the Danks bandwagon. Believe me, Greg is good at the eye test. The eye test tells me Danks is a very good pitcher still coming back from the injury. I love the way he competes. I love the way he works fast. I love JOHN DANKS! Very good pitcher
  20. "oh no we suck again" *rob schneider/waterboy voice*
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 30, 2015 -> 10:15 PM) No team under .500 is making the playoffs it is very relevant. Of course, you're assuming the Sox will end the year under .500.
  22. Even a group of Brewers, with Gomez, took a selfie saying "saying goodbye to a good friend."
  23. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:55 PM) Sanchez doesn't walk much, keep Tyler in the #2 spot. And Saladino does walk?
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:39 PM) Not trying to start anything up here, but remember when everybody except El Rockin and Dick Allen wanted Robin fired? If the team is able to keep this up, he'll be in Chicago for the next 20 years. BTW, the biggest game of the year is going to be the game after we finally lose. Remember this win streak followed a 4-game losing streak. Fair or not, the team has to prove it's not gonna turn around and lose 5 in a row. What exactly is *this* that would keep a manager in Chicago for 20 years?
  25. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2015 -> 09:32 PM) If KW is more interested in Ramirez or Sandoval than Mike Napoli, he should be fired...unless they're sending 50% or more of their contracts back and not asking for one of our top 3 prospects. I might be wrong but the Sox don't exactly have great prospects. Fulmer can't be dealt and M.Johnson can't catch.
