  1. Danks isn't bad for a 5th starter. The problem is that he's being paid like a #2. Maybe Johnson being moved up to tomorrow in Charlotte is the end for Danks, not Samardzija.
  2. My brother was at that game. Me and my other brother still talk about that final pitch. We say: "he froze his a**."
  3. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jul 27, 2015 -> 04:39 PM) If not even less. Well, at least LaRoche sits. One problem at a time I guess. Keep on with the winning, White Sox!!! I can't believe I'm kind of excited about a game that Danks is starting. What's wrong with me?! I haven't been this excited for a Sox game since Opening Day. Take 3 or 4 in Boston and suddenly...
  4. Everytime Avi comes to bat I feel like he has no plan/clue on what's coming next, similarly to LaRoche.
  5. For 2 games, this team has actually been fun to watch. Good D, smart baserunning, power hitting, solid pitching. Fun!
  6. I didn't even hear Hawk or Stone mention this today. Did I miss it?
  7. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 08:25 PM) Advancd the runers. A productive out. Because the 1B bobbled the ball.
  8. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 07:23 PM) interesting article..... even this site hasn't been given props... every once in a while they have something. today i like it. including all the phoney bs coming from the blackhawks fo. http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/John-Jaecke...umors/128/70129 This Jaeckel guy is clueless. As soon as I saw his name in the link, I decided that I wasn't going to click it. He keeps bringing up this stupid Crawford to Winnipeg idea (even recently to New Jersey, obviously not knowing they have a good goalie) and Bickell to Arizona or New Jersey (still waiting...).
  9. And then LaRoche comes up and hits a weak 2-hopper to 1st for the first out.
  10. If Ventura had the nuts he'd make Flowers bunt here.
  11. QUOTE (shipps @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 10:18 AM) I dont know. Houston and Allen actually could be worse. They are moving to a defense that Allen has never played in nor wanted to play in. Houston is a douchebag it appears and may not be a fit anywhere. Young is coming off a bad injury and wont be ready until mid-season at best. This is McPhee's first year playing full time and we really dont know if he can have his part time production to translate once he is the primary focus of the other teams blocking schemes. Houston had 11 tackles and 1 sack last year. If you think he'll be that bad again- keeping in mind he's going to a 3-4 again where he first made a name for himself- you're not giving him enough credit. He may be a d-bag but he's not a bad football player.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) HE WAS GIVING HUGS Pitchers typically do that after pitching a great game.
  13. Houston and Allen can't be worse. Young will be as good. McPhee will be good for 7-8 sacks. Fuller should be better. Rolle is definitely an upgrade over Conte. They should be .500, but if they're going to be .500, I hope they're 2-14. 8-8 doesn't get you in and I'd much rather have a shot at Cook or Hackenberg or Jones.
  14. Owens should have started out on the mid card. Instead they had to let Cena squash him repeatedly and now he'll forever be looked down upon, thus they had to make him a mid card guy. Good work by the WWE.
  15. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 12:46 PM) And they still MUST sign Kruger. According to Spotrac, if they were to buyout Bickell's contract, it would be a $1 million cap hit the next two years, then $1.5 million for 17-18, and 18-19. So you would save $3 million in cap space the next two years, with a small penalty the following two seasons. That being said, you still would have to replace Bickell's spot on the roster. Which would be relatively easy. Hossa Toews Panarin Dano Anisimov Kane Versteeg Teuvo Shaw Garbutt Kruger Desjardins Done.
  16. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 06:15 AM) you are taking my post in from a statement i made in ref to, if they hawks can not add another experience d-man to the mix. now ref to Daley, yeah, i watched him in games when there was nothing else to watch in the regional games. what i remember is a player who is offensively skilled. really skilled. has problems matching up bodies in or after a check. very limited in the physical dept. so have you EVER seen Daley play??? i will ask you the same question. furthermore, in Q system of play, all players must be responsible for their position, forecheck, backcheck, also need to be able to go on a dime, on the attack by pushing the puck in or setting themselve in a position to help or to score. players playing for Q can not cherry pick, circle the perimeters for that outlet pass, and most importantly they have to be able to take the body. that is another reason, rookies really are frown up or plays as little as they do, b/c they, when being put into Q system, has to learn additional parts of their responsibility for their position, under Q way of playing. There was a lot of worry about Oduya when he came here. Daley will adapt and will be more responsible in his own end now.
  17. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 03:39 PM) i know Q is tough and can get alot out of his players...... but this??? Have you ever seen Trevor Daley play? He's a 4th defenseman; he's not John Scott. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 08:28 PM) The real kick in the nuts is going to be when Oduya signs with Dallas, which looks like it very well may happen.... And they'll still be a fringe playoff team.
  18. I still have never eaten pizza that's as good as Connie's. I think the one on Archer is the original because the Connie's at Navy Pier isn't as good, but I live an hour south of Chicago and I drive there monthly just for the pizza. It's that good, and you can usually find 10+ Sox fans there on gameday. As someone else said, do not hesitate to do most of your eating at the park. ESPN ranked US Cellular Field as the best food park in baseball 3-4 years ago and it still is.
  19. I put $8.00 on the Canadiens to win the SCF next year. The pay out is $128. If Pacioretty can be healthy and Price has another great year, I don't see why not.
  20. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 01:41 AM) Are you talking about Daley? Isn't he considered a speedy, offensive D-man? Or maybe I'm coming in to the middle of a different conversation. LDF said... ...and so my point, sarcastic as it was, was that the first thing he mentions about Daley is that he's not physical. What in the hell kind of point is that in the grand scheme of things?
  21. Yeah, let's get a physical defenseman. The Hawks have shown year after year that they definitely rely on their hard hitting, nasty attitude. Get more of those. The fast, highly skilled kind (Keith), shot blocking, stay at home, do anything for the team kind (Hjalmarsson) and clutch kind (Seabrook) don't cut it in this league anymore.
