QUOTE (Soxfest @ Mar 27, 2013 -> 07:27 PM) http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,3625597.story Louis gone to Miami. Carimi to guard will happen now. I think James Brown drafted last year is a major sleeper to start at one guard spot. James Brown wasn't drafted. If their plan is to go into 2013 with Brown and Carimi as their starting OG's combined with Garza at C, they're f***ed.

As soon as they dropped the puck tonight in Calgary, all of their fans were chanting "Iggy, Iggy." In an era where athletes are divas and demand trades when they don't have a chance to win, it's easy to appreciate the Jarome Iginla's of the world. That chant tonight gave me goosebumps. Wherever he ends up, I wish him the best. -
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 20, 2013 -> 07:02 PM) The Bills could use him. Kelvin Sheppard is about all that they have at MLB, and he was pretty much a JAG last year. Their passing down linebackers are fine, but they could use a little more thump in the middle. Of course, if he wants to go to a contender, then that leaves the Bills out. Seem to recall that the Vikings were kicking the tires on him too. They lost their best WR and their best CB and added a WR on the downside of his career. Minnesota isn't a threat.

91-71, WC spot. Sale wins 19 Peavy and Danks stay healthy. Floyd is still frustrating. Konerko wins MVP. -
So, Seattle now signed Cliff Avril. This is nice, but in 2-4 years, how will they be able to keep Sherman, Thomas, Chancellor, Irvin, Tate, Baldwin, Wilson, Browner, Unger, and Okung?

Reading twitter yesterday, you would've thought they just got swept in the 1st round. I think people actually believed they wouldn't lose. -

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Mar 7, 2013 -> 10:20 AM) I would love a line of Carcillo - Bollig - Beach. To do what? Score a goal every month and put the team shorthanded twice a night? -

Weiss is out for the year for Florida. He's had a lingering wrist injury and is finally having the surgery. There's one potential 2C option gone for the Hawks. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 4, 2013 -> 03:14 PM) Jared Cook a free agent. GIMME. Probably the most athletic TE in the league. 25 years old. Very inconsistent player. Someone posted on TalkBears that Titans fans have used words like- bandaid for something better, headcase, inconsistent, etc- to describe him. For $5m/year, no thank you. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 4, 2013 -> 03:30 PM) Bears were not gonna be able to afford a Albert-type player in all likelihood. With a Tillman and Marshall extension + the cutting of Hester, Spaeth and Davis, signing Albert would've definitely been possible.

Bollig and Mayers are much worse than Carcillo, but in terms of being the worst forward that actually matters, yeah Carcillo is the worst. Saad had an assist on the 19:48 goal against St Louis, and immediately was on the 4th line. -
QUOTE (HeGone33 @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 12:26 PM) Speaking of that, I've always wondered how much them guys make? Any ideas what a producer makes or someone like Goff getting a show in ATL? Producers typically make $40k-$50k/year. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Mar 4, 2013 -> 05:19 PM) Yikes. ESPN is all network from 12 a.m. to 2 p.m.?? That's sad...really sad. This probably won't happen.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 04:52 PM) Yeah, that's a jersey foul. The only Hull WC/3rd jerseys I've seen are counterfeit. -
Alex Smith has played in 30 games where the opponent scored 24 or more points. In them, he's 2-27-1.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 26, 2013 -> 11:25 PM) Yes, get a legitimate one. Honestly after that don't get the double black, get some other Hawks apparel, like a nice hoody, pullover, etc. instead. There are a lot of good options out there that you'll get more use out of once you have a jersey checked off the list. You could always do one from nhl.com. Have also heard good things about River City Sports and Triple Threat Sports. I'm not sure what the quality is at a place like Total Hockey or Dick's, you'd have to check them out to be sure. Stay super safe if it's your first (and possibly only) jersey, go Toews. You don't want to end up like me and have Ruutu, Bell, Sullivan etc. While we're on the topic, I wish people would stop buying green knockoff Hawks jerseys. Not only do they look brutal by themselves, but they look terrible amongst all the red/black/white in the crowd, and on top of it, they've never worn any such jersey. TTS is alright. Sometimes the jerseys take awhile to get back if they need to stitch one up. Dick's has the replicas but only one layer of the stitching is stitched rather than both layers. They are still better than the fakes. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 27, 2013 -> 12:24 PM) I just died a little when I read this. I have 2 jerseys a white Keith and a black/third/winter classic Hull. But why? He never wore that jersey. -

I'm also a huge anti-knockoff guy. A few years back, some guy got 8 years for selling $600k worth of those. They look horrible and they are NOT authentic even though they ARE stitched. They're illegal. If you sell or wear them, you look/are stupid. No Hawks jersey ever has had an Indian head that is the size of my fist where the Indian head looks like Michael Jackson. -

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Feb 24, 2013 -> 09:05 PM) Yeah, Columbus had 3 absolutely golden opportunities that somehow didn't go in. Really odd shutout, but I'll take it. Speaking of Columbus and 3 golden opportunities, they have 3 first round picks in July. Right now, I believe they'd all be top 12. If they don't get at least a top 2 defenseman and a 1st line forward out of that, they're f***ed. Nobody is going to come play for them unless they overpay big time (Umberger, Wisniewski). Dubinsky is hurt and so is Johnson, but neither have been good anyway. -
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 24, 2013 -> 08:08 PM) You mean 20, I think. Fixed in original post. That period was supposed to be a question mark in an attempt to be a smarta**. It's looking more and more like KC will take Joeckel #1. If so, that means Albert is leaving. I'd take him and draft Fluker or Cooper at 20
-
QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Feb 24, 2013 -> 04:24 PM) I am really hoping that Lane Johnson or Jonathan Cooper falls to the Bears at 22. I really don't want Fluker. Webb can handle the RT position, we need a LT and natural Gs (since many people talk about Fluker moving inside). If one of the big 5 OL (Joeckel, Fisher, Johnson, Warmack or Cooper) don't drop, I would have no problem with the Bears drafting a stud DT/WR/LB that inevitably drops. The Bears pick 22nd.

I wonder what Florida would want for Weiss. This is no chemistry to mess with it, I understand, but Bolland just is not a 2C and would make a helluva checking line with Frolik and Shaw once the playoffs come around. Maybe Stalberg, Pirri and a pick for Weiss? Saad Toews Hossa Kane Weiss Sharp Shaw Bolland Frolik Bickell Kruger Mayers/Bollig I do, however, always get wary of trading for Panthers or guys from non-hockey markets. You never know how they might react from no pressure and 12k at each of your games to #1 seed in the West and 21k at all of your games. -
Bowers is going to get at least 3 years, I'd bet.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 16, 2013 -> 01:24 PM) I think the Dolphins disagree. The Dolphins made the playoffs in 2008-2009 and had the 2nd worst attendance in the NFL, only filling 87% of their seats all season. 2009- 27th overall 2010- 26th overall 2011- 31st overall 2012- worst (76.3%) Miami fans suck. -
QUOTE (zenryan @ Jan 20, 2013 -> 03:24 PM) Why does it bother you so much? He'll be here at some point. Bother me? I've posted here now something like 4 times in a month. I just asked if he's alright. Meanwhile, another says he's cheering against SF just because of him. Why didn't that get a bunch of negative comments toward that poster?

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 18, 2013 -> 11:21 AM) Cutler can rest his cannon arm now that he's running the dink-and-dunk offense. Cutler is a "coach killer". It's always somebody else fault why he can't succeed You do know Aaron Rodgers runs the same type of "dink and dunk" offense as Cutler will in 2013, right?
