QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 16, 2012 -> 07:13 PM) I go downstairs for 2 minutes and I miss a Flowers homer Typically that's a good time to go get a beer.
-
For those not watching, Flowers' HR was inches from landing in the upper deck.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 16, 2012 -> 07:02 PM) He's played a huge role in 2 wins. Paulie comes back tomorrow so its probably back to riding pine for Wise, but he's had a series in Toronto Mike Trout would be proud to have. That's exactly what I'm saying. Essentially, if you're a player who's expected to be "worthless" and you contribute in 2 games in August with your team in 1st, you're not worthless. Also, he can give days off and it's like the starter is playing in terms of production. As long as he drives in some runs and plays solid D, he's not a worthless player. Danks in 2012: 13 hits, 3 RBI Wise in 2012 with the Sox: 5 hits, 6 RBI (in 26 less games) QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 16, 2012 -> 07:08 PM) Make it to the warning track or off the end of the bat? Track and wall

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Aug 16, 2012 -> 06:50 PM) All it takes is for him to help us win a couple games when you are in a pennant race. ^ ^ ^

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 16, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) Relax it is a couple games. Two days ago, he was "worthless" to posters here. Since, he's had 2 HR's and 5 RBI's. I don't care if he goes 0 for his next 10. Those 2 HR and 5 RBI proves he's not "worthless," especially compared to Danks, who hit 1 HR in numerous AB's.

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 16, 2012 -> 06:46 PM) Hawk not happy the ump. No way.

Remember when Wise was worthless 2 days ago?

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 15, 2012 -> 11:14 AM) HBK already announced he will not be at SS. Didn't he say he'd be in HHH's corner at SS 9 days ago on RAW? -

This PPV on Sunday has HBK turning on HHH for not helping him when Lesnar was breaking his arm written all over it. -

QUOTE (Caesar @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 08:28 PM) Let him save it somewhere else. Yeah, I'm sure teams all over the league would love to pay him $5.5M next year to throw like s***.

4-4 Tigers/Twins now

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) This Toronto ballpark is the ugliest damn one I've ever seen. ugh I actually enjoyed Rogers Centre. It's Tropicana, Metrodome, old Qualocomm, etc that are the ugly ones.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 05:42 PM) Herm Edwards & Marcellus Wiley donned party hats & got him presents. Wow. Cris Carter wasn't too fond of it, however, calling him a back-up QB and only on SC do they celebrate back-up QB's birthdays.

QUOTE (RZZZA @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 11:55 AM) It's common for people to suffer inflammation flareups months after a serious joint injury. Urlacher obviously felt okay when he was staying off it, but once he started practicing the joint started swelling up on him, causing pain and discomfort. Hence the need for the surgery. Hopefully they'll monitor the swelling now and he'll be ready to go in 3-4 weeks time. I think we can get by okay for the first handful of games without him, if our offense is even half as good as advertised. They'll be 2-2 if they're lucky without Urlacher.

QUOTE (spiderman @ Aug 13, 2012 -> 10:14 PM) Toronto owns the White Sox. IIRC, the Sox are now 4-17 in their last 21 in Toronto.

I know it's just entertainment, but if my best friend was in a position where his arm could be broken, I wouldn't let a loudmouth a**hat stop me from stopping the guy doing the move. "He'll break his arm if you move." Oh ok, nobody saw the whole "he'll break it anyways" thing coming. Oh, and I'm sure HBK is driving a 2005 red Intrepid nowadays, or whatever that car was. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 09:41 PM) Obvious you know nothing about the Marlins history. Are you serious? We're talking about this year's team and what the owners have done this year. I don't care what they did 7 or 8 years ago with Miguel Cabrera, Dontrelle Willis, Pudge, etc. This year, they signed 3 big time FA's and held onto Josh Johnson. I wouldn't say that's selling off the good players in 2012.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) Seems like he'd be a natural. A lot of times he looks in the dugout if a pitcher has completely lost it. Seems like he'd have a good feel. It's amazing when you talk about managing. Ventura has done well enough this year that he's assured a 20-year tenure with the Sox if he wants it. What is Robin, 45? He's proven he can manage. With his personality, he's NEVER going to get in trouble with anybody (owners or players) so he's set. He could be a White Sox legend. If he can win one or two WS in 25 years and eight division titles, he'll be a living White Sox legend. Question is ... can he do that? Let's say he's our skipper the next 25 years. Can he win 2 WS and eight division titles? I'd say maybe one WS. Two might be difficult. So because he's 62-52 this year SO FAR, he'll be "assured" a 20 year tenure?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2012 -> 07:38 PM) You lost me when you said Hanley Ramirez wasn't a good player. You lost me when you thought I said Hanley Ramirez wasn't good. Hanley Ramirez is one...singular. You said players...plural. Who are these other good players that Loria and company have sold off?
-
QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Aug 11, 2012 -> 10:46 AM) Why do you think the Giants won't make the post season? The Eagles were great toward the end of 2011, and the Cowboys added Claiborne and Carr + it's the 2nd year with Ryan's D. Plus, word of camp is that Bryant has been great outside of beating up his own mother. It's nothing against NY.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 09:47 PM) Not sell off the good players on a regular basis so that the fan base doesn't trust the ownership group? He traded Ramirez and Choate. He's kept Reyes, Buehrle, Bell, and Johnson. I wouldn't say he's sold "good players" off.
