  1. That last inning sucked. Willie almost got a bunt down that went foul, next Uribe flies out and that would've been a run. Funny how things work.
  2. Phillies better not go into the tank at the dish. They bomb Buehrle but some putz from Minnesota and they fall asleep. :fyou
  3. The fighting doesn't bother me at all, when I get messages from other posters who don't want to see it then I have to step in. I'm not trying to be a dick and say that you have to go, or you've ruined the board.
  4. Quick and Nuke, if I have to close a thread about the teams "best player" leaving I'm going to be pissed. Just let it go.
  5. heh, I always have the big picture in mind. I also just wanted people to have factual numbers so folks aren't making uninformed comments.
  6. With all the talk about Magglio on the way out, and talk of how to spend the money. I went and did a little research ( ) to see how the money shakes down for 2005. I just wanna keep the thread around to so it's not a pain in the ass to find all these numbers again. Just looking at facts: Valentin, Koch, Loaiza, Magglio all free agents after this season. Shoe signed a one year deal at the start of this year to avoid arbitration. So he's going to get more money as well. Carlos Lee: $8 million in 2005, with the White Sox carrying a club option at $8.5 million in 2006, or they can buy out the contract for $500,000. Mark Buehrle: $5.75 million in 2005 and $7.75 million in 2006. Chicago has a $9.5 million option for 2007 with a $1 million buyout. Paul Konerko: 2005: $8.75M Frank Thomas: 2005: Dual option $8.0M player/$11.0M team 2006: Dual option $10.0M player/$12.0M team or $3.5M buyout Shingo Takatsu: Sox have a team option on him. He made 1.0M in 2004, can't be much more in 2005. I'm sure that'll get picked up.
  7. For those totally out of loop: Subway has one sub made by Dusty Baker, one sub made by Ozzie. See, it's Cubs vs. Sox. That's funny.
  8. Yep 2-1, Twins win. Thanks Mike Stanton. :fyou
  9. -M. Stanton relieved T. Glavine -J. Jones singled to center -M. Ryan struck out bunting foul -J. Mauer reached on fielder's choice, J. Jones to second on shortstop K. Matsui's fielding error :puke
  10. As Sox-R-Us said, Jaque Jones with a leadoff single.
  11. Following baseball games like this is brutal. I've just been checking yahoo gamechannel every minute or so.
  12. Twisn have 1st and 3rd now with 1 out. Mauer at the plate.
  13. Still 1-0 Bottom 7. 3 hitter for Glavine.
  14. I should mention they are in the Dome, hopefully the AC won't get turned on to get the Twins a run.
  15. Glavine on the hill for the Mets. 1-0 Mets Bottom 6.
  16. Why is it that I always have to work when a new guy starts? Rex, have you heard any whispers of a trade coming soon?
  17. Could is the key word there. All this is, is an author knowing of Reed and how highly thought of he is. This isn't a rumor by any means.
  18. Not really, s***ty defense did him in. Benson is alright, but no way in hell for Reed.
  19. No more ESPN games please, we look like fools all the damn time.
  20. Koch is on Williams, period. How many teams have a 6 million dollar mop up guy? If Koch isn't the closer or setup man, he's f***ing useless to this team. I know he is useless as a closer, but money is a factor with this team.
  21. Borchard is already on the 40 man roster, Reed was not. So this move does open a spot to put him on it.
