I'm shocked this wasn't posted here yet, after all the posts about how the Sox we're screwing him.
-
Not the best in game move by Oz. However, I think what's he trying to do is show that he has confidence in all of his players. He wants to show that no matter what the situation he feels he can all on anybody to get the job done. Sometimes that is going to get us into the situation we saw today.

Which is why I said I'd be happy with winning one game in this series. Things just seem to not go their way on the West Coast. As far as the clutch hitting, if they got the clutch hit every single time, they'd never lose a game. I understand one game like this is the difference sometimes between winning the division and losing it, but lets relax.

In the case of Carlos today, he had a huge lead. In some cases the catcher just wins the battle.

Each FOX market gets to choose what programming to air. So in you're case Jason, since you don't live in Seattle or Chicago, they figure more people would rather see that than the baseball game. EDIT: I see it's chaos in California as to what station is airing what.

Alright! Back in time to see the M's offense come sorta alive.
-
NBC did break in for awhile, but it wasn't a long break. They'll do more tonight I'm sure.

The whole thing just makes me sick. There's this notion that the Yankees are really making a huge sacrafice in giving up on Contreras, who if nobody has noticed, blows. The fact that M's GM would even consider this trade makes me feel like the Sox can give up s*** to get Garica. There's no point to trading Garica if the guy your getting in Contreras makes a lot of money as well. I know the Yankees would pay some of his salary, but still no logic at all. If Seattle just wants a bad pitcher who makes a lot of cash they can have Billy Koch, that should get it done.

This makes me sick. :puke

Yeah, sorry about the confusion there 48. I posted that before it became known he was for sure going to get the operation.

The key thing is that Magglio can come off the DL at home against the Phillies, as he was placed on the disabled list retroactive to May 26.
-
I don't think Otis is making it up either. People need to realize that the Sox asking about someone doesn't mean a trade is going to happen. Teams inquire all the time about big name players to see who's available. I'm sure Milwaukee would have to get a great offer to move Sheets, but the Sox have the pieces to do that. Sheets will probably be looking at a nice raise this off-season as well.

Sorta. I understand what you're saying, I want the Sox win every game they play. I just look at their record on the West Coast and realize that whatever can go wrong out there will. Which is why I said if they win atleast one game that'll make me happy. Seattle has had a poor season, but they still have players who can beat you. To me it appears like some people think the Sox are going to walk into Seattle and put a hurting on the M's, it won't happen that way.

Some posters are just crazy. One bad series and the season is a wash. If this was September, I'd be crazy over it, not June 2nd. Sorry.
-
Time to Cowboy Up~! (I like that saying, sorry). Anyway, the Sox can weather this storm no problem. They need to come together as a team and not try for the home run every at-bat.
-
Seattle, like Oakland, seems to be a place where odd s*** happens. I'll be happy if the Sox don't get swept.
-
We need some sort of official Magglio contract thread, that way all the non-sense is in one thread. I'm tired of this already.
-
Burke is more than just a catcher. Ozzie doesn't like to pinch hit for his catcher because it could come back to bite him in the ass. In this particular case, I think they'll wait and see what happens with Magglio. I'm sure his DL stint will be retro-active to his last start. So they'll wait and see if he's gonna be out a long time, if he's out a month like it looks than they can bring up one of the kids. If he's going to be back quick than no need for Borchard or Reed.
-
Ding! I was waiting for someone to bring up Leiter or Glavine, both are two names you wouldn't expect the Sox to be after, and it wouldn't shock me at all to see Kenny go after one of the them.
-
No way. It'll be Rocket vs. Schilling.
-
I agree. If the games are going to count for something as big as home field advantage than the fans are out. I've got no problem at all with that. I'll be the one to tell everyone that the public sucks if no one in MLB wants to do so. If the games are gonna go back to being joke games than let the fans vote in all 25 guys.

Jon Rauch Likely Finished in Sox Organization
Mr. Showtime replied to Obi-Wan Kenobi's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I know, what the f*** was that? We've had enough 3-for-1 deals with the Pirates. -
Yep, Sox most talked about prospects usually blow. Here's what I love, the Sox will at some point make a trade for a starter. And someone will say: "f*** you Kenny for trading "XXXXX".
-
Papers said he was cleared for some work yesterday.
-
There is no f***ing way that Cora sent him home, none. Olivo just botched that up. On the bunt attempt it's possible Juan saw a chance to beat one out. Perhaps Ozzie did call to do it, but who knows.
