  1. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 31, 2007 -> 09:45 PM) I think Williams might be a little more clutch than Lang. He has had some huge goals for this club. Ian, you know my feelings about Lang.... I've been fine with Williams for the most part, but yeah, he's had a few 'big' goals this year. Lang doesn't bother me as much as you, but he does make some lazy ass passes.
  2. I can't get the mp3 file to download...
  3. 4-4! Lang and Sopel both make some passes that make you want to strangle a man.
  4. QUOTE(Maury @ Oct 22, 2007 -> 11:01 PM) Sup Ian? How you been? Surviving.
  5. I cannot listen live sadly, but I'll listen to the download later. Make us proud, Tony. The D-Bag of the week is great as I said in week 1, but I like it more when it's off of rant rather than a throwaway comment at the end of the show.
  6. QUOTE(Maury @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 11:39 PM) That's it! Now SnR is coming back and we're pissed off! Just f***in with ya! You guys have a much better set up then we did. Sounds a lot better. You need more beer , cops and beating cub fan on air though. I can't believe we didn't get arrested on air with our s***ty little show. I haven't been around and just happened to come accross this. Sounds good. Glad someone kept this area of free entertainment going. We just couldn't do it anymore with our set up. Keep it up , guys. Mike (RPS) Those we're the days!
  7. QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 10:52 PM) What, no lit fuses? Would you like to step outside?
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 08:48 PM) That's something that makes this all the more enjoyable. Someone even lays a finger on Kane, there's multiple guys behind Kane who will come to Kane's defense. It's great having Koci, but Wizniewski -- despite his size -- is willing to take a pounding just to stick up for his team, get the team some energy, whatever it is (and I'm selling Wiz short here -- he gets his shots in and rarely gets "pounded", as I put it). That one little guy who was giving s*** to Kane (not Antropov) -- when he skated by the Hawks' bench, I don't think Koci took his eyes off of him. They're a whole bowl of fun to watch. I was listening to the game online and watching via my DVR so I could sync up the commentary. I think it was in the 3rd, but either way there was a scrum in front of the Hawks net, and someone was pushing and shoving Kane. John and Troy had an exchange about it and John said, “I wondered what’s going to happen the first time someone makes a run at Kane or Toews?” Troy jumped in and said “There’s no place for that in the game, but you’d see 19 guys off that bench and 3 from the press box on the ice so fast...” Everyone on this team is willing to stand up for these kids. Right after the camera cut to Koci on the bench and like you said he was watching the guy the whole way back to the bench.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 02:04 AM) I've been following the Hawks closely this year and I am really excited about what I see. Kane and Toews are the real deal and I cannot wait to see this team with Havlat at full strength. I haven't gotten this excited about hockey in a long time. This may sound dumb, I hope not, but what happened to Seabrook, Skille, and Cam Barker? I'm not sure if we'll ever see Havlat at full strength this season. Skille and Barker are playing for the Hawks minor league team in the AHL. Seabrook is on the Hawks.
  10. QUOTE(knightni @ Oct 19, 2007 -> 11:28 PM) Okay. I have one. knightni73 is the name. My god. I'll just fast forward through this...
  11. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 19, 2007 -> 11:12 PM) WOW. Got to the UC at around 6:45 tonight, got GREAT seats in 327, row 3. -I can't say enough of Toews and Kane. Toews goal speaks for itself. He is an INCREDIBLE talent, and hopefully the city of Chicago, along with the NHL, really starts to take notice. Toews-Kane-Ruutu were all over the place tonight, and there is ALWAYS something happening with them on the ice. -One of my keys has been to get off to a good start. They got the message. I couldn't be more pleased with the 1st ten minutes of the hockey game. The Hawks DOMINATED, and really took control. -Sharp impressed the hell out of me tonight. #10 was everywhere tonight. Once again, Sharp made you notice him all night. -Khabby had a fantastic game. The goals let in were certainly not cheap, and he worked his ass off all night. He was great. -My two dogs for tonight were Keith and Lang. Langer had a good finish to the game, but overall he was bad. Lazy, poor passes, and took at terrible penalty. Keith was TERRIBLE. I have noticed it every time I have watched the Hawks this season, but tonight he really stood out. It's just poor decision making. It's not that he can't keep up speed wise, but he is always one step behind. Just a real bad showing by Keith. We need him to step up. -Samsonov has been pretty bad as well. I haven't really noticed Sammy, which has been the problem. He seems like a ghost out there at times, and thats not what he is here for. -Hawks were pretty lifeless in the 3rd. To be dead honest, they got lucky to walk away with a W tonight, as all the momentum was on the AV's side. It would have been a real shame to walk away from that game with a L, with all the positives that came out of the 1st. Good report on the game, Tony. I was going to go last night, but I had to do some school work. I might end up having an extra for Saturday vs. Atlanta, I'll pm you if I do. I was listening to the game online, and it sounded pretty good. I expected Colorado to make a comeback, they've got a few high caliber offensive players. The goals by JT and Kane we're awesome to see and hear.
  12. Tony, you should know by now that you can't do something like this and not inform me.
  13. I was in attendance once again last night, and it was another exciting victory. Hawks really we're attacking with some bad intentions in the 3rd period. Think they out shot Dallas 20-4.
  14. Let the record show that I'm in full support of a Hawk segment on the show. Even if it's just a little state of the Hawks update every week. If Tony isn't available maybe Krush or CWS can hop on to offer some insight. If the idea is a smash, I'm taking full credit.
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 10:58 PM) You will next week now. I would love to win an award! What's the song you guys play to start the show? I dig it. Great show, I'm a little sad there wasn't some a quick mention of the Hawks, and at the very least the home opening game. Is Jason not allowed to curse? I love when you get mad Gager. Not that the whole show has to be that, just when you get going and ranting, the show perks up.
  16. Crowd sounds, which can be deceiving, pretty good again tonight. I'll be there on Saturday vs the Stars.
  17. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 08:31 PM) Did you listen? I don't think you would be dissapointed as I did give you a shoutout. I just downloaded the show about an hour ago, I'll listen on my commute to/from work either tomorrow or Friday. Does that mean I won the D-Bag of the week award?
  18. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 08:10 AM) I'm bummed I haven't been able to catch these live ones live the past few weeks. I hear some great posters get shoutouts in this week's show, so I'll definitely be giving this a listen whenever it gets up. I'm a great poster, I'm semi popular and I deserve a shoutout. QUOTE(Molto @ Oct 10, 2007 -> 02:32 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/podcasts/october10.mp3 Thanks for coming through, Mario.
  19. I'm unable to listen live, so hopefully Mario will have a download available. Will there be a new D-Bag of the week, Gager?
  20. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Oct 7, 2007 -> 01:37 AM) I agree on Kane, Adams (who took a lot of draws in the OT then went off the ice immediately). Thought Bourque was OK, didn't really think too much of Williams. I will like the day when we can get him off the point on the PP. To add a few 'new' thoughts... Khabibulin was rock solid tonight. He made some superb saves, and was awesome in the shootout. Don't want to let that go unnoticed. I thought Samsonov had a nice game, especially the last 2 periods. He was around the puck a lot, was using his speed, and was actually noticeable out there. Sopel was actually pretty decent. He seemed strong on the puck and didn't get beat, also didn't have too many turnovers from what I remember. Magnus seems like he'll be pretty good but he had a few bone headed turnovers (that failed slap shot dump in on a bouncing puck was retarded) just like the rest of our defense (mainly Keith, though I still like the guy. Whole lot of fun tonight. If this team can keep its head above water and get Toews and Havlat back and running (Toews should be ready Wed), this team could be a lot of fun this year. Also...I was SHOCKED there were so many people booing, yelling, and starting detroit sucks chants during Tallon's speech on Wirtz, which at times was tough to hear. As you all know I wasn't a big fan of Wirtz, but I stood throughout the entire thing and didn't say a word. I don't know what it was like around you guys but it was somewhat loud around me and no one was standing, people were just being assholes. You could at least suck it up for like 2 minutes and just shut up about it, but no, people have to be that disrespectful. That was pretty disappointing. Maybe I'm making a big deal out of it, but I just figured people would be quiet for 2 minutes, have moment of silence, and then rock and roll to the anthem. It was very amateur. Oh, and Detroit fans are still a bunch of obnoxious f***s. Constantly getting up/coming in during whistles, using profanity, and talking stupid. I actually thought when listening to Tallon that they we're telling the fans to be loud during the anthem in honor of Wirtz. Which, give me a sigh of relief because I completely expected segments of the crowd to get ugly. The Hawks PP still needs work, seemed like they we're standing around a lot. The 2 Detroit PP goals came right off them winning the draw and they immediately got it to the point and shot it in. As everyone else has said Kane was awesome last night, what a moment it was in the building when he got the goal in the shoot-out.
  21. Certainly not the way we wanted to see the season begin. I'm still excited about being there tomorrow night. I was fired up to see Kane, Toews, and Havlat, and now only one will be on the ice. Either way it should be a great crowd and a fun game.
  22. QUOTE(Molto @ Oct 3, 2007 -> 10:09 PM) http://www.soxtalk.com/podcasts/october3.mp3 HEY~! Awesome. Just in time for me to update my iPod.
  23. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Oct 1, 2007 -> 10:21 AM) Looks like the Hawks got it right. Would like to see Jack get a chance, but his time will come. Glad to see Pilar not on the squad, with Mags making it. Eddie O berried Pilar yesterday and it was great. Sopal wears 56 and Dan was making a comment like "He might be wearing that number come opening night on Thursday", and without missing a beat Eddie jumps in and goes, "No, he'll be wearing 5." It made me laugh so hard.
