  1. QUOTE(chisox72 @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 11:09 PM) I'm in. Though every time I tell my father the 'FUSE' is lit...he responds with "You're lit". Hmmm...he might be right, but I am definately on board.
  2. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 10:29 PM) I saw the first homer...actually, the local news here in Miami cut to it about a minute after it happened. They haven't broke that I lit the fuse have they? Just asking...
  3. QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 10:00 PM) sahweet! MIRITE?~ Now that I have 'officially' declared the fuse lit, I've gotta ask is this a more historic moment then when Ali lit the Torch in Atlanta in 1996? All aboard ST, all aboard.
  4. The word "FUSE" has been thrown around over the course of this horrible White Sox season. Sox management refused to do it by trading older vets or valuable pieces to acquire younger talent. So, if we're going to toss around such a historically funbad word like "FUSE" we need a real reason, and I think I've come up with a few. In honor of Danny Richar and his ability to actually get a bunt down, in honor of Jerry Owens using his only talent moderately well this season. In honor of Josh Fields showing that a Sox hitting prospect can come up to the big leagues and not be god awful, in honor of Bobby Jenks and BOONE~! not falling apart like their bullpen mates, in honor of the Grindy one and his got to be near record trips to training table this season, and... what the hell, in honor of Prancer giving us all a 'Canseco' this season in Oakland, I proudly bring it back:
  5. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 08:36 PM) Seriously, he'd be a great bench player. No way in hell should we go into a season with him as a starter though. If we make a change with our manager sure. You think Oz will use him in a role like that? If we sign Rowand and keep Dye, maybe. Other than that I think he'll start in 08.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 08:33 PM) He'd make a great 5th outfielder. SPEED~!
  7. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 08:24 PM) Eggy just gave up three runs, including a triple to Cunningham.
  8. Is this still going on? I'm walking away from the labtop and heading for the hills. Everyone please join me.
  9. Heads, I have never seen this before anywhere. I'm not sure what to make of it really. Ask Spiff what I should think about all of this and report back to this very thread by August 6th. Thanks.
  10. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:52 PM) The only way we deal Contreras is if we take on another bad contract in exchange, or we trade him for nothing and pick up a hunck of his contract. I'd rather see them pick up another bad deal as long as it isn't a pitcher.
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 07:36 PM) URITE *high five*
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 10:13 PM) I said that he has lost a step. I was at that point talking in general (about what I want in a leadoff hitter). Gager, I expect a new audio show by the time I start my new job (Aug 6th), I need some audio..
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 30, 2007 -> 10:08 PM) You're delusional. If the Castillo trade hasn't sufficiently convinced you that Iguchi had little to no trade value then I don't know what will. When Garland brings back nothing, it will all be clear.
  14. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 11:26 PM) you really just look for any opportunity to use the term "SCOOPZ~!" don't you? lol No.. I could've used dirt or something, but if you we're a GM and Robocop called you and wanted to know what was up with the Dye, you'd have to tell him right? Thus, SCOOPZ. See, it all works out.
  15. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jul 29, 2007 -> 11:13 PM) Robo seems to have the latest.... Robo...cop? I can see why GM's wouldn't mess around and give him the SCOOPZ~!
  16. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 08:06 AM) I only thought it was weird for the "quadruple flip" element of it. It felt rushed, is all. Scott a "great promo"? The guy botches more promos than anyone this side of Lex Luger. Pfft. I'm going to assume you don't get his promos because you sir are old.
  17. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 08:27 PM) Because it only makes sense. What in the hell did you people expect to get back in return for the 3rd best 2B on the market? A player who can't even bring the team he's traded to any comp picks? Why would a team give up anything of value for Iguchi when they could have Loretta and Hudson and a similar price? Both of whom are better than Iguchi. Loretta will be at least a type B free agent and Hudson has another year of ARB left, they bring a whole lot more to the table than a 32 year old Iguchi who's putting up a .720 OPS w/ no speed, no power, playing terrible defense at the least important position on the field and WILL BRING NO COMPENSATION TO THE TEAM THAT RENTS HIM FOR THE NEXT 2 MONTHS. So what is more likely? 1.) Teams weren't willing to give up anything of value for Iguchi or 2.) Kenny Williams is the worstest GM everest? Rosenthal thinks Minnesota might send Castillo to the Mets. So add another 2B to the list.
  18. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 06:18 PM) Stoneman requested he be pulled from the lineup while they finalize the deal. *SPOILER*
  19. This trade is neither exciting nor sad. RICHAR~!~! WOOOOOOOOOO~!
  20. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jul 27, 2007 -> 07:23 AM) Weird segment on Impact last night. Looked like a quadruple turn going on, with Team 3D and The Ice Age Outlaws are gonna turn heel, with the Steiner Brothers and LAX flipping face??? 3D came out and called out the Steiners, who came out with a Puerto Rican flag (Scott was in PR when he had his emergency surgery), then VKM came out in the middle of the segment and babbled about nothing. VKM and 3D attacked the Steiners with the flag, which brought out LAX for the save - but did they save the Steiners, or just the Puerto Rican flag??? Best line of the segment was Blubber Ray saying that Scott's VERY ugly surgery scar would have been "a papercut" in ECW. I wouldn't say weird 3D is for sure heel. The crowd in Orlando hates Bubba with a passion, nobody wants to boo Scott because he's an ass kicker and a great promo. LAX is in for a push now with Konnan gone, and the crowd never boo'd them either. VKM isn't going heel this was just a shade of gray as Russo likes to say.
  21. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 26, 2007 -> 12:04 AM) I'm 100 pct in agreement with this. I suppose the question would be do you agree with it? Clearly I understand we don't know what the plans are.
