  1. QUOTE(diegotony06 @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) I know. It's his own fault. I hope they get rid of this guy ASAP. I really don't like Dye's attitude since he got injured. Yep.
  2. Maybe if Dye wasn't playing like s*** they'd ask him about signing a new deal.
  3. Didn't see much of the game outside of the final few innings. Good job by Danks.
  4. Again, it doesn't matter. If Mark is here the team will be bad, if he's not here the team will be bad. So, lets just get on with this.
  5. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 12:37 PM) You will give a NTC to Count and Javy, but not someone who we drafted, brought up, groomed, and was important in 2005. I won't be surprised if they are swerving us and will announce something Monday before a home game, but if this is legit, I just can't put into words how disapointed it would be and KW should be gone! The NTC deal with Javy and Jose was covered earlier in the thread. Actually, twice by Kalapse. Different situations. haha. Swerving us? What can the the Sox learn from pro wrestling? SWERVE THE FANS~!~! QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 12:47 PM) It's for the best though, cause if the Sox extended Buehrle and then traded him this offseason, that would be an even bigger slap in the face to our fans. If the fans don't understand the direction, then..."blank" em.
  6. *I changed the sub-title of this thread so folks who glance over threads know what's up.
  7. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 30, 2007 -> 11:32 AM) I find it really hard to believe that the Sox refused to give Buehrle a NTC when they gaave Vazquez, Contreras, and Garland one for some time. Kalapse explained it earlier in the the thread. Mark wanted a full not trade over the 4 years. Javy has protection to teams he cannot go to, Count has one for this year only.
  8. I don't see what the big deal is. Trade or sign don't matter to me. I don't see the need to pay so much when the team is going to be bad the next few seasons anyway. All the anger seems to tell me, that some don't understand where this team is headed.
  9. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 10:17 PM) PFB is back in wierd logic land. You cant play Andy Gonzales at SS because who would play CF. Well PFB, Terrero is a centerfielder. He said that? Terrero should be playing everyday anyway. If Ozzie wants to get Andy in he can play 2B/SS/LF/RF.
  10. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 09:57 PM) If I knew what Taligeter Jow meant, I would get even more pissed. This is why I hate WSI. They call him 'Tailgunner' Joe. They rip on him there mostly because he allegedly became a member of WSI and was ripping on mods and others. They also don't like him due to him ripping on guys after they leave ala Mariotti.
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 10:01 PM) If the Sox do let Buehrle go, we need to let Contreras, Iguchi, Dye, and Thome go also, as it means we're in full rebuilding mode. I just hope KW doesn't act like a pussy. Agree, I fear he won't go full fledge.
  12. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 09:40 PM) Yes, especially if it means we have to hang on to Contreras. Simply put, I have no confidence in KW to get proper value for the players. I suppose that's one way of looking at it. I tend to think Jose will be traded as well, and if that's the case I'm fine with both of them going.
  13. I won't be angry, but I'm more accepting than most.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 09:30 PM) This wouldn't be surprising...I don't know what else could happen this year to make things worse for our organiztion. You view Mark potentially leaving as a bad thing then I assume.
  15. No big deal to me, let the trading begin.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 07:46 PM) Now that his average is down around .275, at least we won't have to hear the every other year crap about him. Brian Bannister should never, ever be able to get Jim Thome out. With Giambi not healing, I wonder if the Yanks will consider Thome. Will the Sox consider dealing him? You think so?
  17. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 07:06 PM) Kinda gross. Only you.
  18. QUOTE(sf_soxfan @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 07:43 PM) There was a 6 foot 3 woman (rather attractive i will admit) in the all-you-can-eat section and she was interviewed for having already put down 2 dogs and a pretzel (this was top 2 i believe). The emcee in the stands says "well, you have a place to put it..." and later one of the announcers said something to the effect of, "My she's a lot of woman, i bet we could tagteam her." Record player scratches in the background... YOUTUBE..NOW~! QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 07:44 PM) The Andy Gonzalez bandwagon has come to a screeching halt. Is the Pods bandwagon out of the gates yet?
  19. QUOTE(sf_soxfan @ Jun 29, 2007 -> 07:28 PM) did i just hear KC announcers discuss the "tagteaming" of a certain blonde in the stands?? What was said?
  20. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 11:44 PM) Well, thank you very much. I'd heard it before and it was re-stated by my SPARRING PARTNER! on another site. Guess I'll have to go correct him. Thank you. Some aspects of their business are down like buyrates in America, and live event attendance has been up and down, but they are far from losing money.
  21. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 11:28 PM) well there's this guy on a forum I frequent who's saying that this'll kill WWE and I'm saying, No way, man! and that's the extent, really, but I wanted to make sure nobody thinks I'm crazy. They've been losing money and haven't been too profitable for awhile, but I doubt they're in any real trouble. I have no idea who told you that. They haven't lost money for a decade.
  22. The only thing that could hurt WWE right now would be if they lost their TV deals. Other than that they have a boatload of cash on hand.
  23. QUOTE(SoxAce @ Jun 28, 2007 -> 12:18 AM) God damn what a thread.. I could only read like 20 pages of it and I can't even read anymore. Ok so what's the deal here? Nothing to really say. Sun-Times reported this morning that it looked like Buehrle would sign. Score came out later in the morning and said a deal was done. ESPN Radio later said nothing was going on. Buehrle told Ed Farmer nothing is up. Buehrle's agent said nothing is going on. Meanwhile Sox VP Rick Hahn flew down to Tampa. So to answer the question deal here is what we had 24 hours ago; rumors.
  24. QUOTE(Brian @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 10:37 PM) Do they dub over Ventura? No. QUOTE(Shadows @ Jun 27, 2007 -> 10:22 PM) Yeah I really need to.. I have been watching some old rumbles on dailymotion and its getting me pumped up haha The Rumble event itself can be funny to see with some of the no names in there. On the '88 DVD they have Dino Bravo trying to set a new world bench press record, it's about 15 minutes of him just lifting weights in front of the crowd. Mean Gene is doing announcing for it and he's awesome. Some of the stuff they did back then seems so cheesy now, but at the time people really bought into it.
  25. Shadows, get it. I have it, and it rules. I don't care to watch much of the current Rumbles because of all the blurring of the old logo. But, the 80's stuff on here is awesome.
