  1. Stark was on Baseball Tonight and he said that it appears he will in fact be moved. Claims Rangers, Astros, Dodgers, Angels are all players for him. Interesting..
  2. QUOTE(iamshack @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:10 PM) This is what he wrote: • Ozzie Guillen says he's happy with his roster. What I've heard is that the Sox are willing to talk about dealing Freddy Garcia, but let's face it, there's only one starting pitcher currently on the market who would represent an upgrade over what the White Sox have in their rotation -- and that's Barry Zito of Oakland. The only pitcher who has thrown well for the White Sox since the All-Star break got yelled at by his manager, as Mike Downey writes. Well, interesting. I just don't see how they can deal Garcia at this point, unless they'd have another deal in place.
  3. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 12:05 PM) Carlos Beltran comes to mind. Right. The Nats are going to move Soriano, there's no question about it. They'll wait as close to the deadline as they can and take the best offer they can get. Then it's just a matter of, are the Sox really desperate for him? Or will the other teams dropped out and we can get him for less.
  4. QUOTE(dyenamite23 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 11:57 AM) his d is bad but his bat should make up for it i dont no about bedard but i think we could get benson He wouldn't really be an improvement in my eyes.
  5. QUOTE(beck72 @ Jul 27, 2006 -> 11:53 AM) From MLBtrade rumors. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ Didn't see the Olney blog myself. "Buster Olney mentioned today in his blog that the White Sox are willing to discuss trades for Freddy Garcia." If anything big happens, I think this goes down. Eh. I'd have to see how Buster wrote, he might've just been speculating on what they could do. Something like... "The White Sox are looking at acquiring more pitching, and they've suggested that Freddy Garcia could be had.." So, blah.
  6. QUOTE(jphat007 @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:41 PM) They need to bring little bags of marbles and shake them at Burly and Co. when they are on the mound. This is a winning idea, and would get some fun back in the team.
  7. QUOTE(Jimbo @ Jul 26, 2006 -> 02:39 PM) my mood witht his team is the same if i was forced to watch this swimming, soccer KARATE Dunking donuts commercial....Clockwork orange style. That lady has to many kids.
  8. QUOTE(Sonik22 @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 11:09 PM) Honestly has this guy been banned yet? He has created 2 threads tonight that have been locked! This is one of the guys that came out of the woodwork to bother all of us that have stuck with this team through this slump. Do u think we want to hear or think about how bad were playing and how we are so like the 2005 red sox? I really don't feel like opening soxtalk to see tons of pointless threads created by this guy. No worries, "Cy" has hit the showers.
  9. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 11:04 PM) Who knows how true it is, but there's articles coming out now that suggest the Sox aren't a real player for Soriano. The more time that goes by, this looks like a Sox "leak" job to try and raise the price for the Tigers to pay for Soriano. I do wonder though if all of this trade talk might get the players waiting around hoping that a spark is acquired. Yeah, I think the players know Kenny is going to do something. If I'm the Tigers I wouldn't be worried about the Sox getting Soriano.
  10. Well, it certainly is bad times for the Sox right now. Still early to panic about missing the playoffs, I'm eager to see if Kenny can get some help in. Everyone handles the losses differently though. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 10:46 PM) One loss during our slump last year mentally pissed me off a lot more than 3 losses during this slump. Winning the World Series last year is the greatest sports moment of my life, and NOTHING will ever top it. Relax...it will be ok. If we don't make the playoffs, just go buy the DVD collection with all the games, and watch the 2005 playoffs while the 2006 playoffs are going on. Agreed. I used to despise this guy here, and now it's all good.
  11. QUOTE(JimH @ Jul 25, 2006 -> 10:22 PM) On Comcast Sports Nite tonite (after the post game), Kerry Sayers said Chuck Garfein (also of CSN) reports that majore league sources tell him the White Sox have as many as three deals pending, all involving the White Sox improving their pitching. Take it for what it's worth. I will take it as KW intends to improve the pitching staff and we may see someone put on the DL (just my personal opinion on the latter part). Sorry I did not see your post. I was just watching the post game and the wrap up tonite at 10:15 pm or so. No worries, my recap was from around 5:45 or so when Chuck was on Trb Live.
  12. On Tribune live tonight their reporter at the Cell said a Sox source told him they've got 3 deals on the table right now. Didn't say whether they we're pitching/hitting, also said that the Sox really have no idea where the Soriano is close talk came from since they didn't leak it. Or so they claim. So, perhaps more soon...
  13. Little tip, change your post per page settings to 75. Solves the problem of 60 page threads.
  14. Tim is on ESPNnews now talking about it. Not much of an update, said Nats-Sox trying to find a 3rd guy to add to deal since no BMac. Said it still could happen. So, nothing we didn't know.
  15. QUOTE(fathom @ Jul 22, 2006 -> 12:17 PM) I'd love to see Soriano on this team. My only fear is that we wouldn't re-sign him, and then he'd only be a 3 month rental. Where did you see this news? FOX pre-game.
  16. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) Bout time you came out of the woodshed. Its been too long Ian. I'm always around.
  17. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jun 26, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) ...and yes, I was the emailer Ian (pronounced E-IN...thanks Silverman, you bleeding dolt) that gave the Roberto Hernandez nugget to further bust Harry's balls. How did he say the name? I assume it was I-AN? I get all sorts of crazy versions as well... E-IN, simple...
  18. QUOTE(JimH @ Jun 6, 2006 -> 05:52 PM) Right, and what was the proposed deal? I know it did not involve McCarthy. As I recall it was another pitching prospect, Casey Rogowski was in there for sure, and some other prospect. Young was in there I do believe.
  19. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 09:32 PM) Funny how the Crede banner is used for a full game and the Sox just happen to win.
  20. QUOTE(DePloderer @ Jun 3, 2006 -> 04:28 AM) So it must be me who is the jinx. I shall take myself off to a monastory and hope for enlightenment in the art of "posotive" banner construction. I may be away for some time. Tell them that I sent you and you'll recieve a free shirt. Kids, if this slide gets worse I will come out of retirement and make a banner...
  21. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 28, 2006 -> 07:41 PM) Still waiting on tomorrow's, so for now, you get the famous Crede banner that started it all. My god, I'm not dead..
