  1. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) I'm the other Ian. Ross and I went to the Q & A together. Oh. You wanna fight over the name....
  2. As far as Cameron is concerned he had an operation maybe a month or two ago, he's not expected to be ready for the start of the season. I believe it was on his wrist, so I'm not sure how many teams would be willing to deal for him at this point.
  3. QUOTE(Beastly @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 02:37 AM) I saw all of you guys, but and I wore a name tag, but no hellos other than my buddy Ian. I wasn't there. Either someone pulled you're leg or there's another Ian out there.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ Jan 14, 2005 -> 09:03 PM) i heard KW has the flu and isn't there tonight... does anyone know if he plans on being there at all this weekend? Because I think if he's there for a Q&A we will have a better clue on the Iguchi signing. I don't expect him to say "yes we will be signing him at 7:13 on Monday" or anything specific... but if it's still a possibility he'll go into his "under the radar" mode, however I think if he's ruled it out he will say so... I didn't check the "official" Soxfest schedule, but he was scheduled for a Saturday Q&A session.
  5. It's here, after months of waiting, the boys are back in town. So to avoid any confusion with anything that happened last year, I've started a new thread. Post thoughts, photos, and the like in here...
  6. QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 10:23 PM) Damn, this is awesome. Where's the "we love brooks boyer" banner? Get on it boys I was thinking of doing something along those lines, give me a day or two....
  7. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 08:53 PM) What'd he say? Sounds like he said soxtalk.com
  8. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 07:19 PM) I just saw that. I wouldn't be too concerned with that. It seems it's almost a given that Hawk and DJ will be doing Sox games. Wouldn't it be weird if Chimp and Stone started doing Sox games, since they left the north side? I just found that to be odd, I'd guess DJ will be back, not a big deal.
  9. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 07:18 PM) This is somewhat off-topic, but on the XM deal, does anyone know if each team will have it's own station or will they only broadcast the home team feed for each game? I am hoping they just make a station for each team, but wasn't sure if that is how it's going to be. I believe it was that every team would have it's own station, I'd have to go back and check though...
  10. I was reading the press release over on whitesox.com about this, and not once did they mention who would be doing the games. You think it would mention Hawk, since I'm sure he'll be doing some if not all of the games...
  11. Like everyone else here has said, the Sox have something else up their sleeve here. If they really felt they couldn't get Iguchi, they wouldn't have let Cora slip away. I'm sure all they would've had to do was make the call an he would've jumped here to be with Joey. So it's Iguchi, or a trade. I'd lean more towards Iguchi.
  12. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 06:43 PM) I wasn't for sure, since I have the package I've never had any problems viewing any of the games. I recall watching some last year, but I'm sure there we're some blacked out as well. Not sure on how they decide on what games can and cannot be shown.
  13. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Jan 13, 2005 -> 06:39 PM) If you have the MLB extra innings package, you should be able to. If you just have the sports pack, you can get comcast, but games are blacked out. Dunno if they will block out spring training games though. I was gonna say, I'm not sure they black out the ST games. I don't think the extra innings package counts towards this. I recall watching some Red Sox ST games last year on NESN.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 11, 2005 -> 07:06 PM) There's no way we sign TC and EC and another max player. After the year we are at 30 mil with TC and EC resigned we jump back to 55ish. All depends on what the enw CBA looks like, who knows how much a 'max deal' is going to be worth.
  15. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) I have something that may interest you then. That's right, all the tea....
  16. QUOTE(Goldmember @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 10:24 PM) i guess it will do... i like the melons shes holding...oh wait those arent melons... "...Peter, I'm holding hooters"
  17. QUOTE(TheBlackSox8 @ Jan 10, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) i have a nikki avatar Nice. Maybe I should get me a Tiffany avatar....
  18. Nice job for sure, but I liked the Nikki sig better.
  19. QUOTE(qwerty @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 09:29 PM) Saw this on bbb.net. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...ack=2&cset=true I am not the biggest fan of his but centers are not very easy to come by. Especially when he is one of the best in the east. Indeed. What they have going in their favor here is that they can wait until a new CBA is hammered out and sign him then. As I'm sure you know Q, it's expected that they'll slash the length of max deals down to 3 or 4 years.
  20. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jan 9, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) Personally, I don't know what Omar Minaya has done to warrant an unlimited checking account with Mets ownership. The Mets are starting their own cable channel like the Yankees have. Thus, they know they'll have the capital, and that they'll need stars if people are going to pay for this channel.
  21. QUOTE(quickman @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) Until this hits some media in this part of the country, I am chalking this up to rhetoric from a sports station in SF that wants to get rid of durham and his high salary. Steff reports that according to Ray's brother Chad the Sox have inquired about Ray. How recently they did is unknown, Steff is trying to find out what is going on, but she'll be going out of town, thus she may not find out for awhile.
  22. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Jan 8, 2005 -> 06:09 PM) Carlin is pretty good. His albums "Parental Advisory" and "Complaints and Grievances" have me laughing my ass off but he's no Kinison, Bruce or Hicks that just seem to nail observations on an entirely different level. If you haven't seen it, watch Bill Hicks' "Relentless" performance. I cannot stop laughing with the stuff he brings up. I have 4 or 5 Carlin DVD's. One is a box set of some his real old stuff which is great and holds up to today.
  23. As far as who we could trade back, I would say it's safe to assume the Giants won't pay us anything. They're in no position to be sending cash in deals. So the Sox would have to deal some cash back to fit Ray in our payroll situation. Ray makes 6.5 million in 2005, Figure we have 2-3 million left to spend ourselves and we have to deal 3-3.5 million off the roster. Prospects are out since the Giants don't want them. They're outfield is set, so I can't see Carl going. Sox are no position to deal Garland unless they have a Vazquez deal on the table, or something way the hell out of left field. I'm stumped here....
