  1. Maybe I'll get to do the banner after all SS. Start holding you're breathe again...
  2. Regardless of what the deal would be, if we have Johnson and still lose out to Minnesota, fold the team.
  3. I don't mind listening to him talk, makes it very hard to recap.
  4. Fans want a clean game, reads that players want it to. List reasons why pitching has been harder over the years. Not everyone is on it, lot of good hitters out there. Feels that everything has gone against pitchers. Feels fans don't appreciate 1-0 game. Understands how from a game perspective that the home run brings the fans. Would make his job a lot easier if the game was clean. More talk of roids and how pitchers have to pitch better. His players accept the blame, don't blame roids, don't make excuses. He won't accept that from his guys... Knows something needs to be done, and the Union will do it. Another plug for his clinic... Jesus, Don is long winded.
  5. Don starts out by talking about the pitching clinics that he is running. Says it's going over well, thanks B&B for letting him use the air waves to promote it. Says it builds up the kids self esteem and is great for the community. Looking forward to the challenge of working with Dustin and Viz, some competition remaing. Thinks it allows Kenny to look in 4-5 other areas. Knowns KW is looking for pitching, and maybe even middle infielder. "I know we're not done..." Moves are changing the face of the team. Outfield is set. "Kenny doesn't rest". Thinks the fans should be excitied. Hoping new starter is under X-Mas tree. TB commented about Lowe/Perez, Don says he would love to have either under his tree. Always pleased with the pitchers he brings in. Colon, Garcia.... Lowe is a ground ball guy, which plays big. Other names still out there. More to come....
  6. Rumor out of Boston is that Burnett was talking to the BoSox people yesterday.
  7. Cooper with be on at 11:05am or so...

  9. I understand there has been guys who have played for both teams. It's rare to see guys switch sides who are still players in their prime.
  10. Well then DugoutDollars is wrong. EDIT: Turns out that I don't know what year it is.
  11. I'm pretty sure it was Lee who got the deal. Ramirez was only arbitration I think.
  12. Their budget is 100 million or so, they still have other holes to fill as well. Ramirez is due for a new contract as well, Beltre is gonna set that market.
  13. I blocked that memory out. I'm also looking at this from a media angle. Clement made his name with the Cubs. From the fake beards on the back page of the papers, to being in "the greatest rotation ever put together". How would this be portrayed? Would this be "Cub reject lands with Sox".
  14. They have to move Sosa first to even think about Drew, Beltran or Maggs.
  15. While I don't think we'll sign Clement, I was thinking about the history of players who made their name on one side of town, and then switched. I mean players in their prime or atleast still good switching sides. You see this more in NY with the Mets usually getting Yankee castoffs, not so much here. Perhaps my history is off but most recently we've seen Garland come to the Sox, but wasn't a real Cub or any kind of star. Sosa wasn't a great player for the Sox, he eventually became good with the Cubs, but at the time he wasn't. I'm not sure I'm expressing this the right way, but the idea of a guy switching sides while still being a good player is very interesting to me.
  16. Unit was a top his list before as well, doesn't mean anything. Not trying to bash you heat, just saying.
  17. I read everything this morning. Loved seeing the Sox on the backpage of the Times. Rogers is smart enough to realize something else is coming. Mariotti has an agenda, and has always been a jagbag. The story he wrote today is I'm sure how some dopey Sox fans feel. DeLuca has never had a thought that meant anything in his life. Arvia is a Sox guy, I disagree with what he wrote today, but I know he's not some agenda pusher like Mariotti. So to me I can take his criticism.
  18. That was what I meant. The talk has been that they want a front end pitcher in return.

  20. Outside of prospects we don't have much Arizona would want. Konerko has no postion on the D-Backs, and Garland isn't what they need.
