I would do this in a heartbeat if it wasn't for sports. Unfortunately, cable companies know that there are many like me and nothing is going to change.

The inner monologue of "why do I live here?" is growing increasingly louder and more serious as this winter wears on. Maybe it's the fact that I've been stuck in a house w/ a newborn and running out of things to do, but this has been absolutely ridiculous.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 20, 2014 -> 10:59 AM) Can't wait to watch nothing but the Yankees, Red Sox, and Phillies on ESPN during the Spring. There's this thing called MLB network......

-You're going to need a car, there's no getting around that. Phoenix is very spread out -I'd stay closer to downtown Phoenix instead of Glendale. Glendale is more of a residential suburb. Camelback isn't more than 20 minutes away from downtown Phoenix -Don't worry about game tickets beforehand unless they're playing the cubs. -There's a ton to do around the area besides baseball, mostly involving hanging out outdoors. (hiking, kayaking, zoo, golf etc) We did the grand canyon trip last year as well, that was totally worth it. (About 4 hrs away) -The biggest mistake I made the first year is that I scheduled it around sox "home" games. All of the away games are within a 30 minute radius, I'd try to see as many different stadiums as you can. Camelback and Salt River fields were my favorite. -One of the days at camelback, get there super early (like 9-10am) and go to the practice fields. You'll be within feet from everything. Damnit, now I'm really feeling the itch to get back over there.

I work w/ a bunch of middle age men who still think working at home is for the lazy. So I'm at work today. It was damn cold out there this morning, but I can't say it was EXTREMELY colder than a regular frigid day.

Fifa for the PS4 is incredible. It got a high res boost and the presentation (replays) are just fantastic. Disclaimer: I didn't upgrade to Fifa 14 until the ps4 version.

QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Aug 12, 2013 -> 02:26 PM) That was an intense episode of Breaking Bad. A great way to start the final episodes. The flash forward at the beginning seems like quite a bit of time had elapsed. The neighbor's reaction to "Hello Carol" led me to believe either Walt was thought to be dead or he's being sought for his crimes. It'll be interesting to see how everything plays out. Well it was a continuation of the flash forward in the first episode of season 5. It was his next birthday, so no more than a year has passed. Seeing Heisenberg written on the wall was one of the creepiest things ever. Now you know that EVERYTHING is public information - things are not going to end well.

The garage door is closing! ITS HAPPENING An absolutely perfect episode.

I enjoyed Bioshock 2 over the original. The story/atmosphere wasn't as new or exciting, but the gameplay was a lot more fun. The expansion pack, Minerva's Den, was excellent. Not bad for a $30 purchase! http://www.amazon.com/BioShock-Ultimate-Ra...ywords=bioshock Starting Infinite tonight. Looking forward to it.

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 31, 2013 -> 02:37 PM) Also, not to far from you is Russell's BBQ, delish bbq beef sandwiches. Ew. That place smells like a stereotypical grandma's house. (lots of old timer regular there) No thanks.

Free car, free gas, free insurance. I win this thread.

I just finished Bioshock 1 for the first time (yes - 6 years too late). That was one of the best atmospheres I've ever experienced. The creepy 40's music was just perfect.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jun 25, 2013 -> 01:40 PM) I work in Elk Grove and as I drove home at the Higgins/Elmhurst intersection, there is a weird "Cash 4 gold" smoke shop type place at the corner. In the parking lot, they have a drive thru coffee stand named Twin Peaks Coffee. Lo and behold, as I drive by I notice that the female server is wearing nothing but a bikini. Heavenly Bodies is across the street, so they may be related, but it's the most random thing in the middle of a heavily industrial area. Haha, I pass this everyday on the way to work as well. It HAS to be related to Heavenly Bodies, just has to.

I had some minor water damage due to the last big storm in April. Now every storm that comes has me freaking out.

I bought a 360 back in '07 b/c of the terrible luck I was having w/ my PS2. I would have to take that thing apart and clean it weekly to get it to work. I've stuck with it and only had one ring of death, but there's no way I'm sticking w/ Microsoft in the next gen. I only stuck around b/c I didn't want to pay for another console. PS4 has already won my $.

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Apr 15, 2013 -> 04:12 PM) The people that comment on random internet stories are usually the lowest form of internet posters. In my experience, they are never worth reading or responding to. The internet would take a giant step forward if all news sites got rid of their comments sections. They're the worst.

QUOTE (farmteam @ Mar 18, 2013 -> 07:16 PM) When I fill out the bracket, I follow my gut modified with what I know of the matchups. Bracket came out a little weird this year, but where the gut leads, I follow! Then you wouldn't be filling out multiple brackets....

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 4, 2013 -> 02:38 PM) So, now that I have a tablet that is the bees knees, I discovered that Rockstar released not only one of my favorite games of all time in Max Payne on Android, but also Grand Theft Auto 3, which is another favorite game of mine of all-time. I downloaded both, and cannot believe how smoothly they run, and how gorgeous the graphics are... also, the games are just a blast to play and the controls on the screen actually work and make sense. They just released Vice City, too, but I'll wait to DL that until I've re-defeated GTA 3. Man, these games are all great and take me back. It's amazing how I still remember all the secrets in GTA 3. But anyway, if you have a 7-10" tablet or iPad, holy f*** is it fun to relive these games. The GTA 3 10th Anniversary Android version has better graphics than the original PS2 version. That's nuts. How are the controls? I saw it in the App Store and was certainly curious.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jan 4, 2013 -> 08:42 AM) It's not just phones. why shouldn't I be able to read my ebook during taxi-ing, take-off and landing? How is that different from someone reading a physical book or magazine during those times from a "you should be able to put it away for 15 minutes!!!" perspective? This. I'm fine w/ not using something that uses a wireless connection, but I just want to read my book - damnit.
