So what happens if the sox win tonight and DET loses? Back to 1 game out of the playoffs. I'm with everyone else that thinks the season is over, but it's seriously just 2 games. Things can change in an instant.

This is definitely more of a collapse than a choke IMO. A choke happens when you have a MAJOR lead and let it slip away. The lead was never more than 3 games, it's been tight for awhile now. This has definitely just been a complete collapse of good baseball. To me, things started to change w/ that Bruce Chen/Sale KC game last week. You had just beaten KC in the first game of the series, won 5 in a row and I assumed the monkey would have been off their backs. Then this happened, "KANSAS CITY, Mo. I still think there's a hot streak coming, but a loss tonight and a DET win would be tough to swallow.

The sox are in first place going into the last full week of the season after playing TERRIBLY the past week. They're due for a hot streak, right? right? For some odd reason, I'm fairly confident they're going to pull this out.

I don't think it's too much to ask that they win this one.

Sure looks like there's a ton of presales for everyone to gobble up the tix before the general public. I'm already expecting to pay a bit of a premium for the tix on stubhub anyway.

God this game would be huge for my sanity. 3 games would be some huge breathing room as we all freak out over our horrible play in KC later this week.

Wins are wins, regardless who we're playing. Get a W tonight w/ sale on the mound and roll through the weekend. (if only it were that easy)

Soph in HS, in spanish class. They made an announcement that there was an "incident" in New York and they would have a special announcement at the end of period. (WTF?) No one knew anything specific until they made the announcement and the teacher turned on the news. The rest of the day, half of the classes went on as normal and half of the classes consisted of watching the news. I remember watching the news for hours after getting home and not being able to sleep. I vividly remember going in the backyard of my parent's house (which is under a flight path to MDW) and not hearing anything. It's definitely something I didn't notice until it was gone.
