we've got 9 outs to get a few runs against lackluster pitching. I'm optimistic. -

QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) Still doesn't make up for your terrible play in LF. i'm not gonna call it a terrible play, the conditions do seem pretty harsh. Though saying that, a backup outfielder should make that play. Robbie's going to get a ton of playing time because he's the only solid defensive OF option off the bench. (I really wish gload could play OF well) -
uribe's at bat music is always awesome. The only song I recognized so far was Sean Paul-Temperature. You can just see the uribemeister rocking out to that in the clubhouse

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 7, 2006 -> 10:26 AM) Majority rules. Steve, pay up. but we just found out jason is going to be there. He's raking in the money from these ads.
-
QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 04:58 PM) That's not correct either though. There would have been plenty of people upset, but their anger would have been directed at Neal, not Ozzie. yeup, cheat's definitely got this right.

but anyways, my sox hat is absolutely filthy. (it's the ST hat with the silver brim, i bought it in '03 i believe.) Your hands feel grimey just from touching it, but I love it to death.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 05:14 PM) Heh. I'm the opposite. I'm almost embarassed to wear a hat when it looks new. I like my hat w/ "character." i invented that phrase.

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 01:03 PM) I've never thought Ozzie was a perticularly good manager. Infact, I think he's a bad in-game manager. Regardless, He's a character guy, and team chemistry is clearly important proven by last years dramatic White Sox World Series victory. i basically agree with this statement. His use of the bullpen last season was horrendous at times. But that never even came into play in the playoffs because of our ridiculous starters.

Don't respect me or jason, we don't deserve it.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Apr 6, 2006 -> 12:28 AM) How much do the Sox get for that brand new "OwnACondo.com" ad on the right field wall? i hope ALOT. i said this earlier today, but I really wish the ads were taken off the wall. Put them anywhere else, fine. But I don't like them on the actual field. And yes, I know that the sox get a ton more money for those and that they will be never taken down, it's just a wish.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 5, 2006 -> 11:51 PM) Good thread Keith. I was out to dinner with the GF tonight, and we were talking about the game, and then about just being a fan in general. She thought it was great that I love something so much, but she also doesnt like the fact that I will get upset and be in a different mood after they lose. I really do hate that im so attached sometimes, but I also know the position this club is in, and I know when I have kids, and we talk about the Sox, we are going to talk about 2005,2006,2007 ect, and how special this franchise was. Its a great time to be a Sox fan. We should all cherish it. I was in a conversation with a non-sports fan like this a few weeks back. He actually told me about how he admired people like us. How we can be this devoted to something, it's almost sacred to us. Yeah, we may care a little too much, but it's better than not caring about anything enough. (there are way too many of those people out there). To get back on topic, good thread keith. As much as we wanna b**** about things (like today's game). This franchise has been on an increasing upslope for the past few years. This is really as good as it gets.

I'm not one to second-guess managers after every game, everyone on here knows this. But this decision was inexcusable and the outcome was called by both me and krush at the same time. There's no reason to throw a rookie out there against their best hitter, I don't care if he's left-handed. And even if you want to play the lefty game, cotts was available. It just seems to me the last option that should have been used was, the one, the only, boone "f-in" logan.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 11:18 PM) OH MY GOD. That is hilarious. I hope I wasn't the only one, but the first thing that popped in my head..."What if it was only the box?" i love his reaction to his next present. "NINTENDO 64 REMOTE.......control car." "oh"

it seems like every pre-final four game in this tourney was so exciting, while all the final four/championship games were kind of a dud. Congrats to Florida, they played outstanding this entire tournament. So solid all around.

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Apr 3, 2006 -> 08:21 PM) Pretty amazing how famous you can get by wearing a headband and high socks and being fast. There wasn't a day in his Illini career where Dee Brown was the best player on his own team, yet he's won all these awards. He was great for the school, but he's one of the most overrated college athletes I've ever seen, probably top 3. he had the image. Like it or not, being the face of your sport will get you places. Dee will always be remembered on this campus, but as everyone has said, no reason for him to get this award.

This should be a long lasting thread.
